What is needed is a coin that can confirm as fast as a Visa and MasterCard transaction. There is a way to do it. We just need to figure it out. That means at least 4 (four) confirms in under 20 seconds. We need a coin that can do a single confirmation in under 5 seconds. Anddddd this quote alone proves you have no idea what the hell you're talking about. Network hash rate aside, confirmations are only as reliable as the distance of time between them. 4 confirmations at 5 seconds no more reliable than 1 confirmation in 20 seconds That is what innovation is for. I didn't say it would be easy, but it is necessary. Someone need to figure out way instead of being a nay sayer. Innovation? The concepts you lay out are impossible, and a complete departure from the bitcoin protocol. Both of your suggestions lean heavily towards centralization. Maybe there is another way to do it. Instead of saying impossible, try to figure out a way. If you cant do it let someone else try. I am going to agree with you, nothing is impossible we just haven't figured it out yet.

Why are people liking this copycoin with fast transactions? What did I miss in the last 43 pages?
The name, speed of transactions, professionalism of dev's, website, twitter, pools, windows binaries at launch, settings clearly posted, regular updates, etc... Take your pick. What's not to like? Best launch we have seen in a really long time. This is probably why it's gaining so much traction. Now let's just keep it off any exchange for a little while, and it will stick. Don't miss the boat. Exactly, its 100x better than all the other misc coins that were launched. I'd say its running along the same initial tracks of Feathercoin right now. on par, maybe at its release. We are way ahead of FTC now. We need to avoid the FTC effect and not go on any exchange and let it takes it natural course first.

Please don't push the exchanges with this coin, let it take its natural progress to them. We need to inform more people about Worldcoin and it's potential. Every single altcoin released in the last month or so after hitting the exchange becomes worth next to nothing.
We need to promote it.

when is time to retarget and what is next difficulty?
5000 more blocks I believe, and around .3 I imagine.

Paul, those hash rates on the stats page are way off. Is it because the calculation doesn't include rejects, hence the nerf to hash rate?
I'm getting 2% rejects. Whats your cgminer config?
|
|
|
I'm not sure if they are accepting new members, we are definitely over the 51%.
|
|
|
Anything we can do to prevent rejects? or is it the nature of this coin?

I can't connect. Can someone help me out and double check my process. I put this worldcoin.conf file in my appdata/roaming/worldcoin folder, as well as my cgminer folder... rpcuser=myuser rpcpassword=mypw maxconnections=100 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcport=11082 daemon=1 server=1 gen=0 testnet=0 listen=0 maxconnections=100 addnode=71.201.163.216 addnode=98.193.75.196 addnode=71.86.91.187 addnode=63.175.158.121 addnode=82.8.158.89 addnode=188.194.8.221 addnode=183.62.232.93 addnode=124.188.83.171 addnode=72.222.208.81 addnode=89.10.226.206 then I enter command in cmd prompt: cgminer --scrypt -u myuser -p mypw -o http://127.0.0.1:11082 ...and bunch of other flags but I get the message 'No servers could be used!' so I don't know. But I received coins in wallet, so I know my wallet is working. Close the wallet, create a new .bat in the same folder as the wallet. In it type worldcoin-qt.exe -server run that first, then run cgminer.

Difficulty just went up 400%

Thanks for the suggestion though I may spin up a CPU farm and hammer it
(assuming my client ever synchronizes it seems a massive number of blocks were already mined. Likely a premine)
No it wasn't a premine, we are finding blocks insanely fast.
