1  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger recovery questions on: February 13, 2022, 12:08:46 AM
So if I add applications to my ledger for different coins does my recovery seed get me back access to all those coins?  I am confused because I used my pc to add accounts to my ledger, but when I used it on my phone those accounts did not show up.   I had to also add those accounts on my phone and then they showed up with the coins in them.

So I was wondering if I lost my device if I would have to remember all the coins I had on there and add then as new accounts to get them back rather than just having the recovery seed?

2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Faking the S9 Fan detector on: February 03, 2018, 11:12:01 PM
I have created a cooling system for my S9 miner, and its keeping things cool.  However I need to bypass the S9 fan detection so it doesn't think there is a problem.  I tried plugging in a normal fan, but since they run at 1200 rpm the S9 shuts down.

I found some references to using a 555 timer circuit to simulate the fan, but was thinking I could buy this...

and use it as a frequency generator to set the speed at whatever speed I needed.  I have not been able to get it to work how I want.

Does anyone have a workaround, or a suggestion of how to hook this thing up to make it work?

Thanks for the info!

I appreciate all the concerns.  I am trying to get away from the howling noise that is caused by the fin design and air velocity.  I believe separating them out to individual cards will greatly help this issue.  If I can't get enough air velocity to keep them cool I am going for immersion cooling.

Out of curiosity do any of you know the answer to my original question about the different sides of the hash boards, and if they both generate the same amount of heat, or if there is a hotter side?

So I’m playing with my s9 to quiet it down.  I took it all apart and mounted the hash boards so I could blow air directly at them instead of through them. Do both sides of the hash board need lots of air?  One side. Has dull allluinim plain heat sinks and the other side has shiny heat sinks with more machining?  Which side makes the heat?

I plan to use a box fan to cool the chips and then I need to add a pwm generator to fake the fans. Is there a way to do this without a pwm generator?

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading Bot Performance on: June 22, 2017, 08:36:16 PM
I am using a bot to make trades on an exchange.  One thing I would like to be able to do is to track my trades and see how much I have earned or lost.

Since there can be many trades per day its hard to keep track of them all individually.  I can see overall I am making money, but its really hard to pinpoint each trade since my bot buys on the way down, and then sells for a profit when the market returns.

So how do you guys track the day to day value of your trades?  I looked at cointracking website, but its pretty expensive.
