Would be so much easier for them if they just adopt Bitcoin. It will literally just take a few minutes.

We used checks. For high value transactions, cashier's checks. I don't know how this transfers to a bitcoin environment. Oh, there wasn't as much mail order back then. Most shopping was local.
We miss you Hal

All or most of savings in bitcoin? I hope most of even the forumites are smarter than that...unless you are young and/or have very little savings.
I have all my savings in BTC. Of course. I'm not and idiot. Are you american? (and still a strong believer in your monopoly toy money?) Wow people still say this

That's nothing, this IPO could easily hit 50K BTC by the end of it.

Terms of ether sale:
https://www.ethereum.org/pdfs/TermsAndConditionsOfTheEthereumGenesisSale.pdfclause 19.9 Risk that Ethereum Platform May Never be Completed or Released. Purchaser understands, that while Ethereum Team will make reasonable efforts to complete the Ethereum software, it is possible that an official completed version of the Ethereum Platform may not be released and there may never be an operational Ethereum Platform. Lmao, that clause reminds me of all those IPO scams that happened, always there for CYA purposes. However I think its different with Etereum, I have faith in the team. I've generally been pretty spot on about my choices in crypto and I'd definitely get into Ethereum. If you dont have much appetite for risk especially after all the scams that happened, i would just throw in 1 Bitcoin or half a coin and see where it goes. Worse case you lose that much, they get filthy rich and you work for a few hours or a week (depending on your income) to recover that Ethereum is revolutionary and can bring p2p to the next level. Edit: I'd like to mention that despite backing Ethereum, I am dissapointed with the IPO/sale pricing, since it has high risk given the maths, of not returning much to the investor (who took the largest risk)

Personally i think we will see Bitcoin recover, as in $1000+ in 2015. Yes, we all thought 2014 is the year of the bitcoin but lets face it MtGox and the Chinese killed that idea.
We are now at a stage where infrastructure and startups are forming around Bitcoin and creating ways for more Bitcoin adoption. Also in this phase there will be a lot of cleansing of AltCoins as we have seen, some coins lost 90% of their value from ATH and stuck there some completely dead. Current climate is also a good time to test future prospects of certain promising coins such as DarkCoin.
share your opinions as to when you think we'd see a recovery.

happened many times before, it's not a concern. We've been through this many times.

From 650 to 615 is calm freaking water for bitcoin...
exactly..

This never worked, i've seen times where only 1k coins dumped would cause 40%+ crash, never happened.

I think by Q3 2014 we don't see any recovery

gold is precious and unique
bitcoin is neither
both gold and bitcoin are undervalued imo
Not precious? Not unique? Seriously? If it isn't unique, please.... Conjure up some of it then... Bitcoin isn't seashells scattered on the beach being used for currency. Not precious? I've never spent such care protecting my private keys... And people are willing to pay ~450 for it... That's precious. Its all in your head Gold's preciousness is also just illusionary.

A third party private company now says they found the wreckage all the way in the north bay of Bengal (near India). Scientists are also started to doubt the southern Indian ocean theory. The Australians spent $70Million out of their tax payer money on a useless search. The company and scientists who are sure the plane crashed in the north are saying that the Malaysian gov is ignoring them since a while http://edition.cnn.com/2014/04/29/world/asia/malaysia-airlines-plane/index.html?c=intl-homepage-t

Hasn't it always been like this?
No. It has't been always like this. The turning point was the disintegration of the USSR. The Soviets neutralized any threats posed by the US and vice-versa. Right now the US is the sole super power. And that is bad news for the US citizens, as well as for other people. I think the 80s-90's were still pretty cool, the golden age actually. Things got fucked up upside down right after the millennium 2000 and onwards, in every way imaginable. Its like it was kind of calculated to begin on the 21st century

No wild office sex adventures on my side, however early on in my career I fucked up a tender quote that I prepared, I miscalculated the total price of hardware by $40,000. I only realized it after the deal was sealed and we couldn't change the price. The client was also surprised about the low price but they kept silent. Even though i was real close to My boss he was furious and didn't talk to me for a week. I pretty much assumed I'll be fired as the firm had to take a $40K loss on the deal.
Eventually my boss forgave me and I wasn't fired, I made up for the loss in future deals so things got sorted out eventually.

Heard a story about 2 vegans that were denying their baby milk and other food rich in vitamins and all the necessary stuff. The baby died after a couple of months due to malnourishment and the parents were brought to a sweet justice with many years in prison.
You are either really dumb in the head and need some help or you just want to kill your own kids.
A lot of vegans can be really crazy lot who go to extremes just to justify their veganism

it's actually quite old, Oliver Kahn did it on the world championship 2006.. I don't even understand why they threw bananas, he ain't black if they thought he's an ape that's not racism So you want to say that a banana becomes racist only if it is thrown at a non-White player? I disagree. The attack on Oliver Kahn must be treated with the same degree of seriousness as the one against Alves. Not really. They have completely different connotations. True
