1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ENRG]Energycoin with Energyparty in Q3 and applications in Q4 on: October 24, 2017, 09:49:55 AM
Maybe a stupid question but is it possible to store ENRG on a hardware wallet like trezor of the ledger nano s?

...

Hello Jan,

You are right, migration to the new client is the top priority.

Let's spread the words! RT: https://twitter.com/Peterenrgdev/status/896984925114556416

Peter

Retweet done.
Still there are 20 nodes running v 1.5 and only 11 nodes v1.6!
There are I know about 10 RPI online they waiting for update v1.6
And MacOs is also waiting and I hope this week new client.

It is not much work to update , only the change of the new blockchain from bootstrap is maybe difficult for some people.
If you need help post here or send us PM!
If you keep using v1.5.x your stake after the fork has no value because there is no market.
For EnergyCoin there is only one blockchain and that is v1.6!

Have a nice day,
Jan

Hi Jan,

Just to be sure, some weeks ago I upgrades to v1.6, new blockchain but with the old logo. There is no need to upgrade again, right? How to know for sure I al on the right version? The help pand shows v1.6.0 if i recall correctly.

Yes this new levels for ENRG give new buyers opportunities.

We have the fork ready and testing now the new client.
Some details
- v1.6 now has a new network protocol version 70004.
- To give enough time for users to update the software, the fork will
actually occur at block height 2390000.

Some more changes that are noticeable by normal users:

- Because we need to split the transaction index database file (former blkindex.dat), we have to change the database in v1.6.
But the new database is not compatible to the old one. So, all users will have to re-download the blockchain from scratch.
Alternatively, they may download our bootstrap file "EnergyCoinBlkChain160.7z" on mega.
- Users who want to split the blockchain data file (blk0001.dat) will have to put the following into EnergyCoin.conf:
splitblkfiles=1
- Users who want to disable debug.log will have put the following into
EnergyCoin.conf:
disabledebuglog=1

- validateaddress command now shows the redeem script (for multisig).
- signrawtransaction command now supports multisig redeem scripts.

We shall release the downloadlink alter testing.

Happy staking,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Will v1.6 allso include faster staking for smaller wallets?

Hi all,

EnergyCoin foundation send in a proposal for p2p energy sharing with EnergyParty application with partner Gruninger Power and GPX-Energybank.
Gruninger Power has electric taxi with sharge poles and they like it very much if people can pay with EnergyCoin!
See the tweet! and retweet: https://twitter.com/NorbertBuiter/status/880837015247491072

Sounds good Brian. Would expect ENRG to pick up with news like this, but nothing really. When will people actually be able to pay in the taxi with ENRG?

Well, if the proposal was sent today, I'd expect Gruninger Power to start using ENRG tomorrow morning.I don't think they'll bother themselves with such a trivial things like negotiation, development, implementation etc...They understand for sure that you need to make some quick cash here.
 Roll Eyes

So the question remains. If agreed upon, what kind of timeframe are we looking at?

(As in I am excited to see a real life implementation for this initiative..)

Hi Brian,

I am faily new to this coin, it looks very promising. I have installed the wallet and have some mature coins, but the 'expected reward' varies in days between 50 and 80. Is this correct and is there a way to stake faster?

Regards FH
Hi Frank,

Welcome to ENRG famaly!
To stake faster you can add more ENRG to your wallet.
But after the fork we start a program also reward extra the nodes with not so much ENRG.
Then you need registration and provide you IP address so we can monitor that you support the network 24/7.
There are only about 535 blocks each day see EnergyCoin Blockexplorer
So large wallets benefit more but we want to support also small wallets.
The details for that we provide after the fork is final in Q3 this year.

Happy staking,
Brian

Thank you, I will keep an eye out for the fork Smiley

Thank you for the answer!

Is there a minimum amount of coins I need to hold?

Do I need to keep my wallet open or closed? (like Nem) in order to gain rewards?

We have fixed reward op 5 ENRG for each block.
One day to mature no extra coinage.
About 1M new coins created each year.
And about 30% of coins are online that is a avarage rate of about 3% when you stake 24/7.
Keeping wallet offline give no profit and you can open the wallet for minting only.
So your wallet is protected if you open for minting only.

Happy staking,

Brian
