When dual mining on my XFX 295x2, periodically my hashrate is very poor.

I'll go from hashing ~31mhash eth ~900mhash decred (per gpu) to ~8mhash eth ~200mhash decred and then return. GPU-Z unfortunately doesn't show me the vrm temps on my 295 so I'm not sure what they are hitting. In single mining mode, I can actually push these things to do ~33mhash and they never seem to stray from that number.

I was originally using the recommended driver which exhibited the problem. I have moved on to the 17.xx drivers as for some magical reason they have allowed me to reduce the power target on both my 295x2 and 290x and sustain slightly higher clocks.

I see this is a known issue, which 9.6 didn't resolve sadly.

Does anyone have a 295x2 that is not having this problem? Should I try a different bios that anyone is aware of? The 290x (reference) in the same chassis (on a different psu) does not ever run into this problem, but it's running a customized bios based on the 390x aside from the other obvious differences between the cards.

I'm having a very similar issue with an rx 480 where I get random jumps in mh/s, but single mining is fine.

Thank you so much for your response. It seems to have done the trick, I will continue to monitor it, but I'm unsure why it just became an issue if I have never had it before :/

Anyways thank you!

EDIT:

Well it started out working but after about 5-10 minutes the hashrate started fluctuating between 18-24 which is a lot better than before, but is that normal?

Hello all,

I'm relatively new here so please bear with me on the learning curve.

I've been mining for almost a month now but starting last week I encountered a strange issue when dual mining etc+sia.

I originally had an XFX rx 480 (8gb) and was dual mining fine. I purchased some upgrades for my rig (a new mobo, and 2nd GPU which is an ASUS Geforce GTX 1060) and now I'm having really bad hashrate from my rx 480. I went from getting roughly 22-25 mh/s (ETC) before adding the new equipment to fluctuating between 6-12 mh/s (ETC) on the AMD card, the hashrate on my 1060 doesn't fluctuate at all.

I'm using windows 10, and claymore v 9.5

When I single mine ETC it is fine at 22-25, but I would really like to dual mine to increase profits.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so how did you resolve it?

Also sorry if I forgot any information necessary to solve this issue.

Has anyone had an issue over the past week that their Mh/s drops when dual mining? My Mh/s is a steady 25 but when I dual mine it drops to 6-14. I'm using an AMD RX 480, and Nvidia 1060.
