People prefer to stay at the limits of 72c-75c, but graphics cards can handle 90c. Also, to save your graphics card fans, 75% and under speed is preferred as well.

Once i start mining they hit 100% fans @ 85 Deg C
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 2x 7970 help .. on: April 25, 2013, 08:13:40 PM

They are both gigabyte ghz edition cards. The temperatures are hitting upwards of 85-90 degrees. Are these temperatures safe? anyone else have this issue?

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: WTF? Constant HW errors once i switched to windows 7 on: April 25, 2013, 05:46:53 AM
I'd suggest you try different driver versions and different versions of CG miner and see if you can get back to where you were on Win 8.  Although CGMiner 3.0.0 is working well for me, I found 2.10.5 to be the best version previous that I have reverted back to at times over the last few weeks.  Also, given how new AMD 13.4 drivers are, you might want to try 13.1, which was the most recent non-beta version, if I recall correctly.

13.4 is now; but i figured out my issue. thanks!
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: !! LTC skyrocketing on BTC-E Right After MTGOX Announced LTC Will Go On !! on: April 25, 2013, 05:37:15 AM
It was, I wouldnt call 75 cents in less than 10 minutes slow growth, it now is hovering around 3.60, which is still over 60 cents more than it was earlier today. Watching it rapidly move up is different than checking it periodicly throughout the day.

LTC was specifically designed to be the silver to bitcoins gold ..

Not that this means anything to relationship of BTC/LTC prices but:

1 Ounce of gold (As of now) ~ $1,442
1 Ounce of silver (As of now) ~ $23.24
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoin site question? on: April 25, 2013, 05:35:08 AM
I have another question related to forum protocol.

Is this the forum to post litecoin related sites?

I know not to post in this newbie forum, but once I am released, is appropriate to post in the related sub-forum?

You say released in the sense of being jailed lol. And AFAIK - I think it's fine.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just got my cards in the mail! on: April 25, 2013, 05:33:56 AM
yes CGminer is the only game in town

the 'intensity' setting is the most important...

Uh .. i think they're all important bro.

OT: 2 7970 i get 725 MH/s - Was gonna quadfire 7850s but said meh
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1500khs --> 3 7950 -->8g ram--> ram needed? on: April 25, 2013, 02:46:21 AM
You need a 64 bit OS if you have more than 4GB of RAM.

May i ask you if know why there is this limitation on x86 os? looks strange to my (little) of the computer world...

2^32 = 4294967296

hence 4gb of ram - x86 = 32 bit
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / WTF? Constant HW errors once i switched to windows 7 on: April 25, 2013, 01:37:47 AM

50BTC is a mining pool
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Few questions about LiteCoins on: April 25, 2013, 01:14:27 AM
Well i'm into mining litecoins now and i'm a bit curious about a few things..

1) BTC-E - Legit? I'm having my litecoins dumped to there, and will be selling/buying on there.
2) Anyway to transfer from BTC-E to bank or paypal? I clicked Withdraw and i see paypal min 100$ and it asks for a purse id? The Hell is that?
3) Any other websites good for buying/selling LTC?

THANKS
14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 13.4 WHQL Drivers - What did they do for you? on: April 25, 2013, 12:45:17 AM
I'll try it when I get home.
It updated my driver, but did not update the OpenCL Runtime. Said I was already up-to-date. CGMiner -n shows me as still having "OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP <1124.2>". I deleted my .bin files, and I'm still getting the exact same 722MH/s. I think I'm getting a few more graphic glitches than what I was getting before, but nothing serious, and it seems stable.

Win8x64
Gigabyte 7970 GHz Edition
CGMiner 2.11.4
1200/1050 clocks

Double quote Tongue

Me personally i don't mind it. I just reinstalled W7 over my previous W8. Dunno if it was that or the new drivers.
15  Bitcoin / Mining / 13.4 WHQL Drivers - What did they do for you? on: April 25, 2013, 12:40:50 AM
Me personally; i was able to pump another 20 KH/s out of my 7970. Granted thats not anything extreme but hey; every bit counts.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2x 7970 Few questions on: April 25, 2013, 12:40:07 AM
You should find a sweet spot between core and ram, it gets you around 730khs with stock volts on Gigabyte WF3 OC 7970 cards.

Is what i have. What would you suggest? Someone tweaked mine via TV and got me to 700 KH/S
That's the one I have, and I tried LTC once, and couldn't get above 580KH/s. Stupid piece of shit...

Lol j/k I really love the cards. I get 722MH/s at 1200/1050 when mining BTC. Fan @ 90%, and temps <70C.
Ah you have the same cards?
The exact same. Gigabyte 7970 GHz Edition, stock overclock of 1100/1500, WF3 tri-fan cooler, GV-R797TO-3GD. Bought it 2012-08-13 from Newegg. Mine is somehow voltage unlocked, while other people are saying theirs are locked. It rocks at BTC mining, but can barely get anything out of it for LTC.

As mine are both apparently unlocked as well? I'm able to tweak voltage without an issue.

odd ...

700 KH/s is pretty good for a 7970, depending on how much you have it overclocked. I haven't been able to get mine past 650 personally, despite spending a lot of time tweaking settings.

As far as crossfire goes, everyone says to stay away from it, yes. I personally have had it on with CGminer doing SHA256 and scrypt and haven't noticed much difference either way. I leave it off though because there's not really anything I need to crossfire 7970s for that one 7970 can't do by its' self.

Lol yeah thats what i figured as well. My rig is gonna be mining; nothing special and when i play games (BF3, C3, WoW, CSGO) I'm pretty sure 1 7970 can handle all of those maxed @ 1080p lol.

700 KH/s is good for a 7970? Awesome lol, didn't think it was that good.

What about MH/s (BTC)? What do you get? I get roughly 750 @ 1200/1600 Core/Clock

It should be around the same number except in MH/s.

https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison#wiki-ATI_AMD_GPUs

non of those settings that people suggest get those numbers lol.
