1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: July 03, 2017, 10:46:31 AM
I have 48 1060 running at 80w/+0 core/+1200mem.
I might decrease the mem OC as i'm thinking it could be a bit too much for 24/7... What do you think ?

How? Wich cards are you using? What hashrate do you get?

Going to order some 1060 6GB's now. Anyone know a good model? I have the Asus 3GB one in my personal computer and I like it very much because the fans are really silent but it got hynix memory.

What cards do you guys think I should get for my upcoming 6-card rig. Im hoping to get about 25-30MH/s per card, with overclock if needed. I see alot of people say we shouldnt invest in 480/580 anymore because they are gonna cut the hashrate. But 1070's are like 600USD retail where I live. Any tips or thoughts on the matter?

 Options are:

 BIOS modded RX 480/580.
BIOS modded RX 470/570 will get into the lower end of that range.
GTX 1070 will hit 30 sometimes 32 when overclocked, depending on the RAM.
R9 290/290x/390/390x but those eat a lot of power.
GTX 1080 will hit the VERY bottom of that range.
GTX 1080ti will hit mid-30s somewhere.

Note that ALL of these options are not exactly cheap due to the demand miners are putting on mid-high end GPUs the last 2-3 months.

GTX 1060 6GB and RX 460 might get close to the bottom of that range.

From what I've seen so far, the "mining edition" cards aren't going to be a LOT lower than consumer-model cards as folks "charge what the market will bear"....

Thanks for a great reply. I might just go for 1060 6GB's because of the ROI. I dont want to overpay for a better GPU and have to mine for almost 5 months to pay it down. With 1060's I can do it in about 3 I think

Thanks for the reply. Avaiability wont be a problem really. I've found most cards online here in Norway and those that I haven't found some of will be in by the time I'm ready to order some anyways. I have a 1060 3GB and while testing I've gotten only about 19MH/s after overclock wich is quite low for that card, It's hynix memory and I've probably been a bit unlucky with my unit or something. If I were to buy 1060's 3GB would be enough or will i need to get the 6GB ones?

Well I might be going for some 1070's if I can find them a bit cheaper. Yes I've mainly focused on eth so far but I'l be mining whatever is most profitable with the setup I end up with.

ok i solved that too but now another problem... "ETH - Total Speed: 15 Mh/s, Total Shares: 0, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:02" I dont get any share, does someone know why?

how do u solved it?

Just a wild guess here but it was probably removed by antivirus.

It's hynix :/

Alright thanks for the clarification. So memory amount is only important because of the DAG file? As I'm sure you can tell im very new to mining. Any idea what I should do with my core clock though, clock it up or just leave it at default?

Yeah I thought it was a bit low aswell compared to the results other miners got but I thought maybe its because I only have the 3GB version and alot of the 6GB one? But atleast I got it up to 19 with memoryclock now. Not planning to mine with this forever anyways. I'm going to buy a couple of GPU's soon for mining and put this one back into my gaming pc. And then eventually I'l be getting a 6-card rig if things go as planned.

Currently im just mining ethereum with my 1060 3GB at about 19mh/s but I'm thinking about getting atleast two GPU's and putting them in my old computer and have them mining 24/7. Online I found a 1050ti, only used for 1 month, at about 140 USD. And also I found a miner selling used RX 560 4GB's of various models for 175 USD. Anyone think it would be worth? If I was thinking of getting a couple of 580 8GB in a month or two and later putting them in 6-card rig I'm also planning to purchase. Thoughts/tips?

I got a ASUS 1060 3GB and I have put it one of my old computers to do some ethereum mining as I dont use it for gaming as much nowadays. Been playing around with overclocking and so far I clocked the memory to +700 and it seems to be pretty stable. That helped we go from about 14mh/s to 19mh/s. Will clocking the core do me any good or should I just shy away from that and take down the power limit(I see alot of people turned it down to 60%?) to limit power cost?
