1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are Transaction Fees? (that I see in the wallet) on: May 23, 2013, 12:02:46 AM
Hey bob Smiley

The fees are added to the block and the miners get them, they are only added if your sending bitcoins comprised of tiny transactions/new. They help get your transaction processed quickly.

K.

Nice one thanks, I had no idea that the miners would get a mini amount whilst mining if they mined my transactions.. I just assumed that only the 25 coin per block was the amount miners got.

If you need more detailed information: http://bitcoinfees.com/

Thanks,  I'll take a look at that Smiley

Cheers guys,
Bob

Hi,

Can anyone confirm what Transactions fees are that I see in my wallet?  e.g. I send some coins and I'm charged a Transaction Fee of 0.1 for doing so.

Also.. who gets this fee?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi,

What is the URL, Usr / Pwd in the line below?

minerd_scrypt_jane_x64_ssse3.exe -q -a scrypt-jane -o http://URL:PORT -O USER:PASSWORD

I wanted to solo mine.. does the above assume I'm a pool member?

Many thanks,
Bob

Okay, It looks like the username and password can be anything at all if you are solo mining and set up the conf as in: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200169.0

(I thought the u/p had to come from somewhere - but doesnt seem that way)

Volatility is good for trading.  Cool
Interesting I've been thinking about that... perhaps it will bring in more cash than mining

8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Qu: Can I use my graphics card for my monitor and mine on it?! on: April 23, 2013, 08:39:20 PM
I really appreciate you answering as it helps me look in the right area!  Cool

The gfx card in question is an AMD 5450... a tiny card, however I'd still like to utilise it.

When I choose the GPU it just sits there saying "Please wait" forever, however when I tick CPU instead of GPU then it runs on my CPU fine.

I'm using 50Miner and installed the suggested AMD drivers.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

All the best,
Bob

Hi,

Can you mine using a GFX card at the same time as use it for the primary display?

Since my miner is failing to start it in GPU mode it left me wondering if this was why (note that CPU mode works fine... just expectidly s.l.o.w).

p.s. I have googled tons on this and now have registered to ask.  Smiley

Many thanks,
Bob
