1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2 x 7950 ROI calculations on: April 26, 2013, 04:39:47 PM
Looks like 3 months of 24x7 mining to break even with $0.12/kWh.

Looks like 2 months of 24x7 mining to break even with $0/kWh.

Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... and that's assuming a fairly high price of $135/btc.

Litecoin calculations are faring a bit better, but still a tough sell for me right now. We'll see how the plan for free power goes down...

2  Other / Beginners & Help / 2 x 7950 ROI calculations on: April 26, 2013, 03:59:37 PM
Okay,

So I have the chance of getting 2 7950s at a good price (sub-$400 USD for the pair).

However, I am interested in calculating the ROI at the current difficulty. If it's too high given the influx of ASICs on the market, meh...

I'd like to do it based on $0.12/kWh and $0.00/kWh...

Any sites out there to help me with this?

Looks like the 320.00 beta's improved my performance quite a bit. On the 4-22 build I was getting about 205kH/s (125/400 boost). But now am getting upwards of 220kH/s. Pretty decent.

@yakka: In the README there is some documentation on what arguments do. There's even an example...

My 680 was mining at 205 kH/s yesterday afternoon on the older, WHQL drivers. Ill be interested to see if the betas help performance at all.

@cbuchner1: if you need anything, don't hesitate to PM me (w/ email since I dont have PM privs yet).

Geeze, why don't you ladies just work it out and complete the transaction.

@Haze: You're waiting for him to respond, here he is.

@Mr.White: Looks like he made the attempt to give you another portion of the full deal, why not reciprocate and give him another chunk.

Then, in an hour, once the transactions clear, finish it up with the last of the transactions.

less name-calling, more communication.

Ditto. Checked my account this morning and still relegated to the newbie section...

(also can't post more than once every 6 minutes... and when I hit 'back' and waited and submitted again it said this post was already submitted...weird stuff going on here.)

EDIT: I see. it's not that your account needs to be active for 4 hours. It's that you need to actively browse for 4 hours. Maybe this could be clarified.

The used market is also good for cards. You can sometimes verify that a card will do a certain hash rate. I've seen a 7950 or two that wont get more than 300kh/s.

4 post requirement is kinda painful. I'd be nice to have something like a 5 day cooldown where, after that, you could post. I lurk a lot and just posting garbage seems to be counterproductive (just to meet arbitrary post count).

There's videos of functioning hardware. Not a scam, just a poorly-run company. ;P

http://www.iwebtool.com/alexa_traffic_rank?domain=www.btcfactory.com%0D%0Awww.btc-shops.com%0D%0Awww.mining-pools.com&data=r&range=max

Alexa doesn't even show these domains NEAR the running. You can't get 10K for a domain that has literally NO traffic going to it.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FeatherCoin - Any weight behind it? on: April 23, 2013, 09:40:13 PM
Seems like hedging bets against LTC and BTC is popular but, dang, odds are 98% of the alt-coins are going to just take a dump (or live on in obscurity). Heck, even BTC is still on the fringe by most standards.
