1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.10.1 has been released on: April 27, 2015, 02:48:52 PM
Great! I didn't upgrade to 0.10.0, but after no serious problems reported with 0.10.0 and these fixes I now feel the urge to do it. Smiley

Is it recommended to delete your blockchain and download a fresh one even if it works just ok with your current one? It would be pretty annoying since it's very slow to download the whole thing, but even then, im pretty paranoid and i want a correctly working blockchain.

I don't think so. Why should you? What I understand is that blockchain issues should only be expected when downgrading.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.10.0 has been released on: February 16, 2015, 03:28:54 PM
Given the feature list the new version seems to be really a major improvement. Great work!

I'm a bit hesitant to update right away though, because there are so many changes some bugs might only be discovered after public use...
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think 1.00 BTC will worth more than $10,000.00 USD at any time in 2015? on: November 26, 2014, 02:55:08 PM
That target is too high for 2015. Maybe $ 3,000 can be reached in best case.

I guess, we will see $ 10,000 not before 2017. Huge gains need time.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Future of Bitcoin is Biometric authentication and identification on: November 06, 2014, 02:33:53 PM
Your biometric information generates a key tied to your wallet. QRcode is replaced or exists alongside your biometrics. This is coming. A company like blockchain.info is surely looking at this. Adoption rate will soar through the roof when wallets are inexplicably tied to identity. Everything falls into place.

What a horrid vision you have here!

Giving up pseudonymity for ease-of-use? Never!

I will leave Bitcoin if this happens!

who's to know if it is or it isnt?

I never even quoted you. What are you talking about?

Is that post in the correct format for this thread?

I is, I believe a complete sentence followed by another sentence, which is in question form, is it not?

I didn't know there were strict rules for this thread? Was the sentence before this sentence even a question or was it just a statement with a question mark?

Why do you think that lamenting about rules, sentences, statements, and question marks will help the cause?
6  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: July 08, 2014, 11:10:20 PM
I suppose not but I am always a curious one and by the way, is it true that curiousity killed the cat?
Which cat are you talking about?
Perhaps the universal pussy?
If there was such a thing, how many lives would it have?
Would it not have 7.046 Billion known lives?
I think someone missed the pun then, didn't they?
Or pretended not to notice it, out of respect for academic decorum?  Wink
"Academic decorum" here?: surely thou jests?
Acedemics have enemies too; who knows who may be reading this thread?  Wink

Did you know that I'm reading this thread?

What truly is "News" worthy thou?

Is "worthy" even worthy at all?

Why is it so important to shorten everything? Are people that lazy nowadays?

It is the soundbyte generation, is it not?

What the hell is the soundbyte generation?
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you like turtles? on: April 29, 2014, 12:45:23 PM
I like most turtles, especially those that live in water. For example snapping turtles. Those are really cute. Smiley

Yet another pyramid scheme. I don't know what all the fuss is about.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to feel refreshed even after too little sleep - and why you MUST.... on: April 03, 2014, 12:48:40 PM
Like I said... I wake up a lot more tired from naps. Some people get energized but it just makes me feel like sleeping some more

I'm the same way.  Taking a 90 min nap in the middle of the day would destroy my productivity and ruin my sleep that night.

The same. After such a nap I need at least another 30 min to get my circulation and brain working properly again.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: What drives rapid change with Bitcoin? on: April 03, 2014, 12:40:09 PM
Rapid change in price comes from media attention.

Sustainable change in price comes from bitcoin adoption (usage).
13  Other / Meta / Re: Bring back the newbie jail on: April 03, 2014, 12:34:48 PM
I've barely escaped the newbie prison but I think it's a good idea to enhance quality in the main sections.

If you improve on explaining the reasons for this measure and offer good moderation over there it will do no harm.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Buy rainforest? on: April 03, 2014, 12:31:03 PM
Why buy rainforest thousands of miles away when you can't enforce your right of ownership?

People there can do anything with the land you "own" with you not even knowing it.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal president interested in bitcoin on: April 24, 2013, 03:49:38 PM
Whatever my issues are with Paypal- them joining bitcoin will make us rich. So I'm 100% supportive.

I'm a passionate Paypal hater. My desire to see them fail is even greater than my desire to be rich.

So I'm not supportive. I hope they perish like the dinosaurs 60+ million years ago.

But if one wants to beg for it, why not let him do so? It does not hurt anyone and there is no guarantee he will be successful.

If one person is allowed to beg, everyone is allowed to beg, forum gets filled with crap.  Nothing is added by begging, it's just clutter in the way of real discussion... like about why begging is bad.

The amount of begging will self-regulate according to its expected success rate. The success rate will diminish with more people begging. So I do not see a problem here.

"Crap" is a subjective attribute.

So is "value".

Of course. We are observing it right here, right now... Grin

What about the risk of NOT investing?  Opportunities like this may never come up again in our lifetime.

Well said!

Most people do not realize that to do nothing (not investing) has also some risk attached to it. I think in these times we live in with all the economic uncertainty it becomes more probable that a conventional value preservation strategy (putting the bills under the pillow) will get punished.
