1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Any know: C19 plug to be powered by 2x c13 or 2xc19 plugs? on: November 19, 2021, 09:15:44 AM
Hi There,
I've got an Avalon Miner 1166Pro-78TH and it keeps blowing the fuses on my PDU (which is C19 to C20). So I'm looking into the possibility of now powering this miner via 2x c19 or 2x c13 plugs to balance the electrical load on the PDU.

For some reason this miner is pulling anything between 15a to 20a on 240v.

Anyone have any experience of this?
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Can anyone explain how to update firmware Avalon 1166? on: September 25, 2021, 12:34:57 PM
Hi I've got 2 miners

1166 pro with 72 TH with firmware: 21071301\_4ec6bb0\_f6df907

1166 pro with 78 TH with firmware: 21042001\_4ec6bb0\_61407fa

Can anyone tell me how to understand their firmware dates/codes and check against their webpage to confirm if they are running the latest firmware. There is literally nothing on the internet about this.
The files listed make no sense on their webpage without the understanding of their file names.

Also from videos I’ve watch it suggest you need to use their software to do? Can’t it be done directly on the miner?

Thanks

It only has links to a few miners - one of these is an S9 and the other is A3 unit which is has been bricked. Will these tools work?

When I try and upload a new firmware (the correct one) the page just returns blank - Is there anyway to fully restore the machine using the SD card?

Hi All,
Some monkey in the office has flashed 2 ant miners (s9 & a3) with the wrong firmware and now I can't restore the correct firmware.

Can someone tell me how I recover or correct this issue please.

Thanks

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore - GPU0 always reporting lower (all setups) on: July 11, 2017, 05:35:02 AM
Ok so I've tested the risers idea, that didn't work (Also did it with the GPU directly in the motherboard).

FYI: All the system use team view to remotely log in and check the setups.

It's because GPU0 is the one that also has to do the work for the display.

Go to system properties->Performance->Select "Adjust for best performance".
Remove any background photos.
Reduce the display resolution.
Close any other programs that may be using the GPU.

This has already been done

I have the same. 6x1070 setups. I did notice the the clock get limted on gpu0. I noticed that if I open chrome and leave it open it goes away

I'll try this now, however if I reapply the same OC manually (although no numbers change) GPU0 works at full speed.

try if you can use the onboard GPU for the regular video output, then all your 1070s will perform full without loss on 1st card Wink

if bios complains, look if you have somewhere "Windows 10" enabled, disable this and just enable Bios itself to UEFI only - thats enough for running (just during installation i'd to enable always Win10 and remove all GPU's, then disable Win10 and add all GPU's and leave the onboard GPU as primary video output)

All my systems are 7x or 8x GPUs - I'm not sure if the asus Z270-A will allow you to keep the onboard GPU running with that without causing another issue?

Its a headless machines setup.

However, my risers are a mix of version 6,7,888.

I will try change the main PCI slot to Ver 6 to see if that helps.

I assume its nothing to do with the gen 1 or 2 settings in the bios?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Claymore - GPU0 always reporting lower (all setups) on: July 10, 2017, 09:07:32 AM
Hi All,

I've got a strange issue. GPU0 are always reporting less hash than every other card when using claymore 9.6 - Eth only (on any pool).
This is happening across all my rigs (10x) so its not specifically related to this card. If I move that card's riser to another PCI port it works fine, but anything plugged into the the PCI port which related to GPU0 has this problem.

Note the when the PC is restarted the issue appears to resolve itself but will return after hashing for 10-15 minutes.
Even if I return the cards to stock memory, it will always report lower as well.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

This is my setup:

7x Gigabyte GeForce GXT 1070 G1 Gaming 8GB GDDR5 Graphics Cards
Asus Prime Z270-A Motherboard
Intel Core i3-6100T (3.2Ghz Skylake 35watts)
8GB Ram
Kingston SSD 120GB Harddrive
XFX 2x650 watt PSU with Phanteks Link kit.
6x Risers

Claymore code:
timeout /t 15
cd/mine2
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal ADDRESS.minerNO -epsw x -r 60 -gser 1 -mport 10050

Hello
I've got a strange issue with my setup. I've got 3x GTX 1070 G1 cards and 3x Phoenix GTX 1070 cards - at first I was getting 25Mhs stock levels on each.
Running the rig now 6 days (ups and downs of adjustments) I'm get really strange issues on stock and on OC'd settings (very mild).

I've got XFX 80+ 2x750PSU with a Phanteks Power combo device - and voltages are all stable.

The rest of the system is:
2x 4GB DDR4 2400
1x 6100T Skylake (35watts)
Asus Z270P
6x riser cards
120GB Kingston SSD
Nvidia drivers 372.54 (also used most up to date ones)
Windows 10 Pro (things all turned off)

I've changed the risers cards same result.

This is my settings for Claymore:

timeout /t 10
cd/mine2
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal ADDRESS.rig-1 -epsw x -r 1 -mport 10049 -dbg -1 -lidag 1
