Does anyone have a how to for compiling the qt file from the files off the website for the raspberry pi? You get 3 files:

amsterdamcoin-tx
amsterdamcoin-cli
amsterdamcoind

I usually compile from the git hub rep, but if I do that with AMS v.4.1 it just shows up as a pre-production version so wastes my time.

guess no help on this then?

I am curious if you have successfully compiled qt on RaspPi 3 for other coins?

Also which version of qt are you compiling against. 4 or 5?

I've compiled quite a few wallets from the git hub code. Sometimes, you have to add extra commands to find some directories, but its pretty much straight forward command line stuff.

Compiling the QT on a raspberry pi really requires the conf_swapsize increasing
Code:
sudo nano /etc/dphys-swapfile

Never bothered using the downloads from the coin websites as they never seem to work correctly or you get 3 files without any info on what to do with them. So someone hands me the daemon file, should I go create the amsterdamcoin-v4.1 folder and put it in? whats the build process?

I could move the daemon to a directory (/usr/bin).. I still need to compile the qt... Anyone got any advice for me?

yes very nice to see.

I still doubt the dev will actually follow through with the swap, but I'm still in! Cheesy

If you have any technical questions, you might get a faster response on the Slack group. Link Below:

Look out for the AMS channel n the left column.

As far as Im aware there are currently no exchanges listing the new AMS. You can check as the new coin address will start with A and old addresses with a.

Do we have an eta for the swap for the exchanges?

Go on Kees... please setup up a discord so we can chat easier and help hodlers. It'll help coin and future development.

How long is the coin maturity time for POS?

As the block number is around 4000 - what impact has this had on the MN/Budget/mining(?) split?

I was just about to delete the old wallet off. I'll leave it there for now.
I've received my coins using the swap site. Very fast!

I forgot how easy it is to install wallets on windows. Cheesy

Its a completely different install for Linux than other wallets. I'm already having issues with configuring. Its saying my Berkerley DB not compatible...

Quote
configure: error: Found Berkeley DB other than 4.8, required for portable wallets (--with-incompatible-bdb to ignore or --disable-wallet to disable wallet functionality)

It's late. I'll come back to this tomorrow I have a head ache.  Grin

i decided against doing an update from wallet v3 to v4 on Linux - assuming its a completely new chain?

Created Windows wallet on laptop and will compile the new Linux once old Linux wallet is deleted (I think you've still used so amsterdamcoin directory names so it'd be a minefield compiling new wallet directory when the old one is identical)  Huh Grin

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: Introducing YoShit Coin - Scrypt on: August 07, 2017, 05:55:22 PM
I gave it some thought. And the swap is not necessary. Everyone who has yoshit with a synced wallet can simply keep staking. We do not need to even update the wallet if we don't want. The investorsbof yoshit coin now own it, esspecially if the dev wants to use yoshit as a premine for a new coin. Swaps are generally a bad move, it would be better to just hard fork the blockchain, like bitcoin cash. Then all holders of yoshit get a new coin while keeping their yoshit investments. I think I will keep my 5 million yoshit and keep staking them. It will not get delisted from novaexchange, unless people stop trading it. Unless the new coin is really cool, then I may swap some.

You keep your 5million. But with a supply of 900000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 - It has far too many coins to ever get past 1sat or do anything.

A lower supply gives the coin a chance to grow. But I guess the less people that swap it, the more valuable will be the coins that are swapped will be.

(the loads of zeros are an over estimate but cba trying to work out how many zeros i need to put for the supple - check page one)

Everyone asking about the wallet syncing issues. Go to pages 98 and 99 - I've explained what you need to do with the bootstrap file there. It will help you greatly.

As for a slack invite... You need to put in an email and then that person needs to post the link. I'll PM you my email address - send me the link and I'll post it for you!

Open up the File Explorer
Go to your profile (The folder that is usually your name or whatever your username for win10 is)
--- On the top of the file explorer folder under the tab called VIEW there should be a tickbox for hidden items - tick this.

Open the hidden folder "AppData"
Then open "Roaming" folder
Find the folder called amsterdamcoin2 (it might be name slightly different on Windows - but it'll be obvious which folder is for Amsterdam Coin)
Put Bootstrap.dat in that folder.

Load the program.

If the program is still stuck and not loading blocks -- close it and repeat the above process, but when you put Bootstrap into the folder, delete all the files in it EXCEPT WALLET.dat
Restart the program and it will start to sync blocks.

How does the bootstrap work in general? I've extracted the bootstrap folder to where the wallet application is held. Nothing changed when I open the wallet though.

Hey what Operating System are you using?

I think I've sorted the wallet issue.  Cheesy Smiley

You have to delete everything except the "wallet.dat" in the directory. Extract the bootstrap to that folder and then start the program.

Put the bootstrap into the folder that only has the wallet.dat  file in. Don't start the QTprogram until you've done this. If you load the QT file, then put the bootstrap in it later on it just gets hung up and wont load (no idea why).

Hi

Tell the newbie
Wallet for windows is not synchronized the second day

I want to install a wallet on Linux

I installed ubuntu 16.10
Downloading from the ams website a wallet under Linux
I set the attribute
And can not run it
How to launch it?
I can install and run programs under Linux, but I can not run this wallet

Dont even bother with the v.3 Linux wallet. It wont sync. Wait till v.4 comes out shortly.

I checked and I think with a NOVA swap we use their coin swap facility on the website, so we will need to put the YST into the swap for AXE on the Nova exchange (therefore take them out of the wallet)...
