1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Honeyswap and other L2 exchanges on: November 20, 2020, 01:30:00 AM
With the altcoin season right around the corner, gas fees are going to explode and DEXes like Uniswap are going to be just a whale only exclusive club. There are a couple of L2 exchanges out there, most important of them is Honeyswap.
Have you guys ever used Honeyswap or any L2 DEX? What are your thoughts on it? I personally fell in love with the idea of using an Uniswap clone without paying gas fees.
2  Local / Altcoins (Monede Alternative) / (ANN) 1hive : Un proiect pe lanțul xDai on: October 28, 2020, 11:04:39 PM

Being born and raised in Europe, it still baffles me just how racist some Americans can be.
And I also find it funny that those same guys still live with the illusion that they are living in the best country in the world.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 09, 2020, 06:15:47 PM
So guys, how does the heatwave in Europe affect BTC price?
minimally. but do you think it does somewhat? why then?
I was looking at historical snapshots and noticed what may either be a trend or simply coincidence since BTC price is so volatile.
During the heatwave last year (21-28 July), BTC dropped more than 1000Usd. Same thing happened during the heatwave in 2018.
I am referring here strictly to Europe.

7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $10 million? on: January 25, 2019, 05:57:56 PM
If Bitcoin reaches $10 mil ,that would mean a market cap $175 trillion dollars. To put that in perspective, all the physical money in the world including any money held in easily accessible accounts, is about $90.4 trillion. So you can see how ridiculous that is when you look at the numbers.
If you believe that Bitcoin will ever reach that price, then you must be the most optimistic person in the world, or just naive.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thank you Bitcoin on: January 25, 2019, 07:44:36 AM
Bitcoin did change my life for the better , financially speaking. I could've been rich if I had sold at the ATH, but greed got me and sold a part of my holdings a little bit too late. I still am happy and thankful because Bitcoin helped me become debt free and bought me a car.
I am sure in the future I will regret not buying more Bitcoin today but I am doing my best right now.
9  Local / Română (Romanian) / Re: Bani din traduceri on: January 25, 2019, 07:04:31 AM
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soulja Boy says BTC is done on: January 25, 2019, 06:52:17 AM
I never heard about this so called rapper before reading your post. If I understand well, this guy bought Bitcoins, maybe when it was at its ATH or close to it, and thought of it as a quick get-rich scheme, going as far as producing a song named after Bitcoin Grin
As some of you pointed out, Bitcoin price fell, this guy feels salty and started to bash it.
I don't think this guy deserves any of the attention he's getting.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Questions to BTC Holders 2011 And Before on: January 25, 2019, 06:45:54 AM
I used to live in Eastern Europe back in 2011, and Bitcoin was just beginning to gain reputation among tech-savy young adults, my demographic mostly.
I didn't buy any BTC back then, although I remember mining for a few days. Buying was mostly done on local forums if my memory serves me right. A year or so later, BTC Atms started popping around, and exchanges gaining traction as well.
People used to tip with bitcoin on some forums back then, but I can't seem to remember if it was in 2011 or before.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your most common uses for cryptocurrencies? on: January 23, 2019, 10:14:23 AM

Oh definitely not anytime soon. It will take time; as I'm pretty sure gold also took A LOT of time before it became stable enough in terms of price. I just really hope we can attain price stability with bitcoin in our lifetime.

Also, whose to say that you can't go up even if you bought at 20k? Tongue
I could've sworn I added "this year" at the end of my sentence. Well, my bad, I am actually very optimistic about Bitcoin and I am sure that it will beat the old ATH, but that will probably not happen until next year.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your most common uses for cryptocurrencies? on: January 23, 2019, 05:11:56 AM
This might be ironic right now due to the huge price fluctuations, but bitcoin as a store-of-value. I'm very positive that with time, I assume bitcoin will attain a stable price; it's pretty much just a matter of 'when'. People will realize how good bitcoin is as a store-of-value(and as a currency), only when they actually experience economic crisis in their country. Of course using a store-of-value currency like bitcoin would kinda be pointless for people in countries like the United States, but for people in countries going through an economic shitstorm like Venezuela, bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are a godsend.
Due to its nature I don't believe Bitcoin will attain a stable price any time soon. I do agree with you and I also use Bitcoin as a store of value right now. It's like the gold of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin isn't going away anytime soon, and if you haven't bought at the ATH of 20k then from where we are now ,you can only go up.
I know that's not how Bitcoin was supposed to be used, but at the moment it's the smartest thing for me to do.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $400,000 Says Investing Guru Mark Yusko on: January 23, 2019, 04:35:08 AM
I think that we already heard $100,000 , $400,000 $1,000,000 per Bitcoin since forever. It's just empty words, without anything backing it up .
There are so many factors that influence the price of Bitcoin, unpredictable factors as well , that even the analysis of top investors are nothing more than a guess.
I, however am able to accurately predict what the price of Bitcoin will be exactly one year from now. And mark my words, this is the most accurate price prediction you can mathematically get : it'll either go up or down.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware Bitcoins Email Hack is going viral. on: January 22, 2019, 07:49:13 AM
Wasn't this the premise of a Black Mirror episode?
Well, unlike in the TV show, this scammers are bluffing and they don't actually have anything on the victim, so you would have to be a special kind of gullible to believe someone without any kind of evidence (and send them money on top of that).
There are hundreds of malwares that ask for bitcoin as ransom, which are in my opinion more dangerous than this one, I don't think this deserves the attention it is recieving.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, governments on: January 22, 2019, 06:50:34 AM
I don't believe governments are investing in Bitcoin because it doesn't make any sense. First of all, it's illegal in some countries, unregulated in most and it's just too unpredictable for a central bank to invest in.
Second of all, Bitcoin is about decentralization, going against central banks and everything they stand for, why would they invest in that?
All that apart, I do believe government individuals certainly invest and own lots of Bitcoins and other Cryptos, but that's not relevant.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption: Rakuten (Amazon of Japan) to likely introduce BTC as a payment option on: January 22, 2019, 06:32:29 AM
If Rakuten adds Bitcoin as a form of payment on their platforms, it's going to have a huge effect. If I am not wrong, Rakuten is the 13th or 14th largest company in the world by sales, with a revenue of 6 to 7 billions per year. Besides that, Japanese people are very technology friendly, I believe Bitcoin will thrive on Rakuten and we will see the effects in the increase of adoption and price.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: would u open a loan to buy the dip? on: January 21, 2019, 04:56:12 AM
I find it mind-boggling how after all that happened last year, countless people repeating the phrase "Don't invest MORE that you can afford to lose" which should've already been common knowledge, you still find people here who are willing to actualy take loans and risk their own financial security in order to buy Bitcoin.
Please take care of your hard earned money, and never take loans to invest in something as risky as the Crypto market is.
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do any of you feel guilty? on: January 21, 2019, 04:24:36 AM
I never did give investment advice to anyone, but I did introduce some of my friends and relatives to cryptocurrencies.
Even though I know it isn't my fault, I still feel a little guilty about one particular case, and that's when I told my uncle about Bitcoin.
Now, to give you a little background to him, my uncle has always had a gambling and poor investment problems. Even though he has 4 children, he still gambles away 20-25% of his monthly income in the hopes of someday becoming rich (SPOILER: He didn't) . He was always the guy that got excited for the World Cup, CL or any other sport event just so that he can have something to bet on.. you get the picture.
One day, he was visiting me and saw my screen full of charts/prices (I was daytrading back then) and asked me what is that about. We talked a little, I told him I am trading , gave him some Crypto 101 and then his eyes got big and told me he wants in, he wants to buy and trade crypto.
Of course I didn't cave in and told him it's not like gambling, you have to do your research and it's very easy to lose your money.
The next couple of days he kept bugging me, telling me he read a lot about crypto and he won't trade it, he just wants to buy some coins and hold them and he just needs my help to set him a wallet and help him buy some.
You guys already now where this is going.. my uncle lost thousands last year, even selling his car to cover some of the loans he took. His wife and children are with their grandma and they are getting divorced this year.
I feel like he would've lost his money in any other way because of his addictive personality, but I still think feel guilty about it.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reasons for Satoshi's anonymity? on: January 20, 2019, 06:43:19 AM
I think the fact that Satoshi remained anonymous throughout the process of creating Bitcoin and then vanishing shortly after has been one of the best things that happened to Bitcoin.
Cryptocurrency is all about decentralization, having a face associated with the coin, being on TV , holding talks and advertising Bitcoin like we saw being done with other coins, just makes it seem more like someone running a business and not the "People's coin" that lured so many of us in at the beginning.
It may be true that Satoshi stayed anonymous because of him being a target for some government agencies, or any other theories you guys have mentioned, but I am personally not very interested in why he did it, I am just glad he did.
