1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could TON be the new Solana? on: July 04, 2024, 05:48:58 PM
The open Network formally TON, Currently most of the projects are launching on this ton blockchain which is in such a trending position. Currently, Tap to earn, Gaming projects are launching on tons of blockchains and are going viral. With the way Ton is gaining popularity, it may move to the top of the coin market in the future and overtake Sol in popularity.

I too noticed it. Solana rose to its fame through meme coins and is still the top choices for most meme projects while TON with its integration with Telegram app can be a good place to game. TON doesn't need to compete with Solana but can be huge with its own market. Not all games in TON are fun though, some are pure meme with no real gameplay and a dumb way to earn. Some games are really strategic and needs proper planning and ideas. Overall, mobile gaming seems to be the next big hit and TON be capturing almost all of that market.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) on: July 04, 2024, 04:51:01 PM
I just came to know about DePIN. Seems to be an vague name for web3, decentralized governance and P2P data transfers or something on those areas. I'm not quite sure but more than what that exactly is, I'm more concerned about the hype it's bringing. They might be the next big thing or trend on bull run.
Though users should research for themselves before jumping into it. There are many trends that weren't successful, I don't find anything radical or new on DePIN as well, they might be trying to achieve what's already in the crypto world but with a fancy nickname.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What positive things you are seeing on Matic? on: July 03, 2024, 04:44:18 PM
I'm not much aware about their development roadmaps but there are news that suggest they are now moving or might have already moved towards their own blockchain effectively becoming a L1 network. On such case with its decent market share, quick transaction and cheaper price, it would be seen as an alternative to Solana. Matic was always seen as a cheaper BNB for most of its times but with these new development I guess they have the potential to rise over BNB and come to the rank of Solana at least being an option.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you look out for first when choosing alts. Utility or hype? on: July 03, 2024, 03:51:53 PM

When picking altcoins to hold for the long term, what do you look out for the most: utilities, team, hype, or tokenomics?

I've been speaking to friends in the crypto space to hear their opinions on this, and they vary widely. For example, take Well3, a leading wellness platform that revolutionizes health data management by transforming it into valuable rewards. They have real-life applications and partnerships with companies like Animoca and Samsung. However, I’m not seeing much about them on Reddit, Medium, or even Twitter. Instead, most of the discussion online seems to focus on memecoins or obscure altcoins.

So, what factors do you consider most important? Let’s discuss!

For me its both utility and hype. Hype generally mean quick profits, they don't have to be a good coin. And with utility, you are always right on long run. Hype sometimes might be deceptive but utility never disappoints you. And when you research about the utility and the fundamentals of the coin, you'll be able to successfully chose a winning coin. For example if anyone buys Ton coin at current price of around $7.9, its almost sure that this coin would make you x2 within a couple of years. But with hype, the coin may make you x10 in a few months or you would lose your money.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Over 100 million players on Hamster Kombat 🤯 on: July 02, 2024, 05:20:44 PM
If only I was active on the forum and read about this post a month ago. People are going crazy about Hamster Kombat and I'm hooked to the game. I have had in past played similar type of game for hours and days but not I can earn along with playing. It's a good game worthy of your time and there's a token generation even soon and people who have accumulated coins would most probably be rewarded with proportional coins that results into real money. I have started using the game recently but I plan to have a good balance before the event.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could TON be the new Solana? on: July 01, 2024, 03:53:22 PM
The association of Telegram with TON do insure the future for this coin. The telegram platform is using it as the default advertising currency and in future the default currency of telegram messenger. The Durov brothers from telegram are well respected people in the field of mathematics and programming. They were behind the huge social network VK, which they have now left and telegram has became one of the most popular messaging app around the world. Though it don't insure that it would give Solana a run for money. If it were to challenge solana head on, we would have already seen some activities but I believe ton wants to take a different approach than taking head on competition with Solana. They would be another relatively successful coin alongside with others like Solana.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A good time to buy Aptos on: May 26, 2024, 11:59:19 AM
According to a recent news on cointelegraph, Aptos has reached an all time high in transactions per day getting over Solana to be the top one. Aptos also had all time high TPS. Even on such high transactions and TPS, aptos was able to maintain its consistent gas fees and success rates.
The current growth is more related to a single game but it does prove the capacity of Aptos network and would surely be a good alternative to Solana in the near future. It could be the best time to buy Aptos at current price.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are your holdings ready for this altcoinseason? on: May 25, 2024, 08:05:31 AM
I'm feeling the pressure not to miss out on this bull run. I'm confident in my portfolio of solid coins, but I don't think they're quite cutting it. I want my investments to bring in serious wealth. I've heard about meme coins making people rich overnight, but I'm a bit wary of jumping into that arena. By the way, do you think older coins will see the biggest price surges compared to newer ones? What are your thoughts on this?

I don't think I'm yet ready for the bull run. Except for the few exceptional people, crypto has been a tool to make rich people richer while poor people struggles through their livelihood. Rich people have the money to buy the low and adjust the holdings and price, has capacity to wait as their huge sum of money stays idle and one day the bull arrives making it 10 times larger, say 1M to 10M. The same 10 times larger would be the poor money but it's 1K to 10K, the wealth gap would have increased further. I don't mean to discourage people from investing in crypto, I myself is investing as much as I can but we'll not have infinite number of bulls.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which of these coins has highest chance to 10x? on: May 25, 2024, 07:35:50 AM
I'm not into these AI and gaming crypto projects. They might get some pump and dump on speculation but they'll never be able to develop something competitive. There are already large corporation developing AI and games, these new people would never be able to get close to them. Real startups in AI and gaming are getting funds from these large corporations and other business, there's no way a real AI or game developer who have something to show would create a blockchain to ask for funds. It might hurt but almost all of them are either scammers or novice who have no idea what they are doing. Memecoins are atleast true to themselves.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PEPE on the way of taking Memecoin crown on: May 21, 2024, 04:15:24 PM
PEPE consistently is the third largest memecoin by marketcap. PEPE has had an impressive growth of 30% in last 24 hours outperforming every popular coins. Not only they lead on price rise but for few days, they are the most traded memecoins overtaking Dogecoin. This increase in volume implies a price change that's happening at the moment. Their market cap is still one third of Shiba Inu and have a good possibility of rise. With so many people accumulating PEPE, do you see them dethroning Shiba Inu and Dogecoin to reach the top place for memecoin.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether, TON team up with mobile app for USDT-to-fiat transactions on: May 17, 2024, 11:55:20 PM
I knew these TON guys are doing something. They have a good app with open API to create custom apps. If they integrate the wallet in a good way and let other app use it through API, they could bring a revolution in crypto payments. People love to have their finance on predictable value and it's where USDT comes in action. When people are able to send and receive USD value in real time with very low fees, they'll start using it. The fee is where they should work on. Paying a cent for a dollar transaction is still large.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swap crypto or sell first then buy? on: May 17, 2024, 10:34:51 PM
Hi,

I have a few altcoins that are doing pretty well and want to take profits soon to then reinvest into other altcoins that haven’t pumped yet and I am wondering if it is best to swap directly or sell my altcoin that is doing well into USDT and then buy the new altcoin I want with the USDT?

I use Coinbase mainly so wondering which way is best to do it or is there not really much difference?

USDT is the most widely used trade pair for every cryptocurrencies and there are very less options to transact against BTC, ETH or other crypto.
Personally I like the flexibility of having USDT than to exchange directly to a coin like BTC or ETH. If you are doing the exchange option to directly exchanging one altcoin to another in exchanges, you are still going through Alt to USDT and USDT to alt route paying the same fee. If you are manually transacting, you can look for better rate and has time to change your mind about the alt you are going to invest on and the amount. You can also maintain a balance to DCA your investment.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats Your Favourite Meme Coins? on: May 17, 2024, 02:54:48 PM
I wanna know your favourite meme coins and why?

That is all.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

moooon!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

My favorite meme coin at the moment is PEPE. PEPE has all the recipe of becoming the leader in memecoins sector. There's a huge demand for PEPE. Even though PEPE's marketcap is below Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, in the matter of value of coins being traded, the PEPE outperforms both. i.e. People are trading PEPE in a larger amount compared to any other memecoins. They are still an undervalued coin and can reach new heights soon. I believe it would at least outperform Dogecoin and Shiba Inu in profit at current market price.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coins: Shiba Inu vs Pepe - Which one do you prefer? on: May 16, 2024, 08:10:37 AM

1. **Shiba Inu**: Shiba Inu is a breed of hunting dog from Japan. They are known for their spirited personality, small size, and distinctive fox-like appearance, with upright ears and a curled tail. They're also famous for their expressive faces and have gained popularity as pets globally.

2. **Pepe the Frog**: Pepe the Frog is a cartoon character created by artist Matt Furie. Initially a benign character, Pepe became widely used in internet memes. Unfortunately, some iterations of Pepe were co-opted by certain online communities for offensive or hateful purposes, leading to controversy and efforts to reclaim the character for positive uses.

Which one do you prefer in terms of potential during the next bullrun?
Neither, not only are both meme coins, they have also reached most of their potential already, so there is not much room to grow for those coins, so if you are going to invest in them you might as well just invest in bitcoin or ethereum.

However if what you are looking for is to obtain great profits then you need to look for meme coins that have not pumped yet, but if you do this, you need to accept the very real possibility that you may lose all the money you risk by investing in those coins.

Memecoins sure are risk but the risk also holds potential for higher reward. We might not like memecoin as they provide nothing to the crypto ecosystem and has no utility. They are for fun and in some instance can be categorized as ponzi where the price increases till there are people willing to buy more. That again is same for almost every cryptos as only a few of them are used for utility and all of them are speculative in nature. Speculation of future demand is what pushes the price of crypto up and the same thing is true for meme coins. So, they are just another but more interesting speculative coin.
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: May 16, 2024, 01:51:33 AM
So I have been trying to wrap my head around which is a better option, day trading crypto or buying for long term keep.
While they both have their pros and cons, they both come with a form of risk and they are meant to generate profit.
The major difference between them is that day trading tend to make profit from small market volatility, while hodling make profit from the bigger change in crypto value.
Day trading involves more techniques, self discipline and rational decision making.
Which do you prefer and think is better

In my experience, long term holding of good coins would yield you more profit resulting like multiple thousand times your initial investment. At least that had been on the recent history but it's not as fun as trading. A simple day trading can get you over 100% a year safely without taking any leverage. Trading is much fun as you see your idle coin also bring you some profit. There are profits and loss on day trading but if you have a strategy, you'd not lose in long run. I personally plan to do both but I'm more towards day trading that also give me thrills.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking outside The Box as a Gamer. on: May 15, 2024, 11:55:04 PM
I've been rolling in games since way back, and always keeping an eye on in-game economies. You know, like those Diablo II rune trades back in the day? It's always been about more than just the pixels on the screen – there's a whole economy happening under the surface. Lately, I've been looking at game tokens as a trader, but nothing's really hit that sweet spot of solid gameplay and real earning potential. until I stumbled upon Engines of Fury.

It's a top-down shooter with serious RPG elements, and it's got its own token, $FURY that they're listing on several platforms, Pancakeswap, Bitget and others and this ties it to everything you do in the game. And the best part? You can actually earn $FURY just by playing the game and being good at it.

For me, this is the next evolution of gaming. It's not just about the fun factor; So if you're like me, a gamer with a trader's eye, you need to check out Engines of Fury and $FURY, what do you think about stuff like this?

I'm also a gamer and these days the game developers don't want to give any loopholes for users to trade off app. There are great games but either they don't have any economics involved or the ingame economics are limited to user app interaction. Almost all of the Triple A developers follows it.
And there are crypto projects that have made games in order to use their tokens. As expected all of these games are unplayable. I've played a lot of them, some even upto 3 months, the incentive of getting coin might make you play but they won't be able to capture your attention as a game.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tornado Cash Developer Was Convicted and jailed on: May 14, 2024, 11:55:59 PM
-snip-
What do u expect.

Their service provider is mixing service, most of the mixing services even in bitcointalk already being restricted. US always targeting every mixing service provider, because as always the service is being using for mixing coing/asset from any kind crime activity.

It's hard things to do, for mixing service.

Mixing services are mostly helpful for people trying to launder money. Making the illegal money white. The mixtures allow the flagged coins to go unrecognizable.
Money laundering in crypto is mostly done by hackers who extort money in crypto or people that have illegal business like narcos. Mixing is also used to fund terrorism without being linked to. All these things are disliked by government. Business and people needs to go through the government channel if they want to launder their money and government won't allow its money laundering monopoly to be contested.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Inflation Necessary on: May 14, 2024, 11:41:53 PM
The bitcointalk forum is comprised of diverse people from all over the world. Our countries' must have gone through inflation as a nation at least once or more since its history. As a refresher, inflation happens when the prices of goods and services rise and people can no longer afford those items because the country's money almost becomes useless. But is inflation needed? Why can't we just keep the currency at the same value? And why does it only happen to money? For example, the same wouldn't happen if we used gold as a currency instead. Is inflation a ploy that the government uses so people don't get rich off of savings?

Economics is quite complicated and I'm not an expert but inflation is the result of ever increasing demand. Like the interest rates on loans in bank increases when the demand for loan is high and in high loan demand, the interest on saving increases too.
When the demand for product and services increases, the price for it increases as more people would want to acquire the limited product and service and as the price increase, the business of producing that product and services looks profitable and more people are involved in production in anticipation of demand.
Natural inflation is increase in demand.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ton/Telegram Chain is next season on: May 13, 2024, 11:10:46 PM
The problem I see with TON is they are not sure where they want to be. The founder of TON claimed he have most of his saving in bitcoins so there's no doubt about his enthusiasm in crypto. The TON coin is sometimes advertised as an advertising coin, sometimes a tipping coin in telegram and sometimes as ecosystem coin on telegram while in others as an alternative to Solana. The telegram platform even though is large is not a preferred way of people to access dapps and defis. Many people would prefer to deal everything on browser than to install a new app.
