1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin has not been able to hit $20k price in 2020? on: December 16, 2020, 10:37:46 PM
Well, it happened already this year and to be honest I didn't expect that the $20,000 will be reached by this year.
Isn't it a coincidence though?? Year 2020 is the year Bitcoin reached the $20,000 price for the first time Cheesy. 2020-20.

Anyway kidding aside, if there will be no selling pressure in the next days after reaching this price there is a chance that it will move sideways at the $20,000 price range but the chances of this to happen is quite low as there are some investors that sees $20,000 as their selling price.

What a coincidence it's being and to reach and cross 20000$ need to wait for 3 years exactly where last it was very close to 20k in 2017. This is a time for celebration as all those who never believed or through its going to crash and become worthless now would be sitting back and thinking about what make them say about it and may start investing now.

It is becoming very interesting and motivating for me. It has climbed all the way above $21,000 and still pumping. Even though I expect it to still go towards $25,000 a piece, but if it does retrace after this move, I think there would be no cause for alarm knowing that whatever goes up has the tendency to come down. It's one of the best gift to those of us in this industry this year.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This latest move by the US Lawmakers can kill Stablecoins but not Bitcoin ??? on: December 16, 2020, 10:30:11 PM
The main thing for the guaranteed survival of bitcoin is to understand the real reasons for its collapse. If measures are taken in advance to eliminate these causes, then when they arise, everyone will be ready for this.
Cryptocurrencies represent a global update of the entire global economic system. When they are fully implemented in the world, life will change completely.

Bitcoin is actually a mystery and those who can't understand how it works are living in a wonder world. Many people are amazed on the resilience it has shown over the years despite various attempt by several governments to attack its existence. Going by what is current happening to it and the cryptocurrency space I can confidently say that no government will be able to stop its progress.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin has not been able to hit $20k price in 2020? on: December 16, 2020, 02:45:27 PM
It's pretty simple: It's because there are a crap ton of bitcoin being sold at the $19,000+ range.

Take a look at that gigantic sell wall on Binance:

Now that this wall has been broken, where do we go from there? Judging by the wall, I'm seeing it's likely to climb above $25K. May be I'm not a good analysts on buy and sell walls  Smiley You can help me out with a better analysis about the direction of its next move.

4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin BREAKS $20,000! - Binance on: December 16, 2020, 02:32:25 PM
Bitcoin BREAKS $20,000!
It hit 20,436 in Binance!
This is the moment we are all waiting for....
Do you think It will propel to 30k in the next year?

There has been speculations from all crypto corners on how 2021 will be the year of crypto. No doubt that it's very possible judging from the trend of Bitcoin price appreciations over the years. Analysts believe that every fourth year in the ecosystem comes with huge value appreciations to the level of 3 - 5 times of the value at the beginning of the year. Going by that projection, I can only watch and stay hopeful that it does happen. But I advise investors and speculators to be vigilant and invest wisely.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / This Calls For Celebrations!!! BITCOIN @ $20K Finally! on: December 16, 2020, 02:13:09 PM
I am super happy that finally we're where we are today.

The king of crypto has finally broken the barrier to climb above $20K.

This is a very good news and an encouraging development to all of us in the industry.

Let's celebrate the king. All hail Bitcoin!

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nearly 12% transaction fee on the ERC-20 platform! on: December 16, 2020, 06:45:21 AM
That's unbelievable. If that's actually the case, then it calls for questioning. Why should any platform in crypto charge up to 12% as a transaction fees which is about 4x higher than what a traditional credit card payment platform could charge per transaction. Where does the charged fees go? To Ether or to SpiderDAO? I'm curious.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRANGE RISE PATTERN on: December 16, 2020, 06:24:03 AM
I think it shouldn't be that strange to anybody. Some weeks ago when XRP was on a very bullish run most other coins were either bearish or stagnant. I believe it's still such forces that controlled its price then that is having some cash out ongoing.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Can online platforms like Youtube and Facebook really be decentralized? on: December 16, 2020, 06:18:34 AM
Yes, it's very possible to have such platforms fully decentralized. However, I believe you won't expect that to happen because non of them will interested in going towards that direction. This is because full decentralization often leads to loss of control and non of those billionaire owners would want to lose control of the platforms they have built over the years that have made them what they are today. Yes, YouTube and Facebook can be fully decentralized but that's not going to happen.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: History will be repeating itself, invest wisely. on: December 15, 2020, 08:40:23 PM
It's been a worrisome development in this domain especially following the 2017 ICO booms and dumps. Many people have been ripped off their hard earned money over and over again. But that does not mean we have not seen very genuine and successful projects. There have been many of those and that's why I always advise investing public to their research very well before investing in any asset to be on the safe side.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hello in which coins are you invested in and which ICO´s do you prefer ? on: December 15, 2020, 08:32:13 PM
I can say that your selections are mostly established coins in the industry. I think that's a good way to reduce risk and it's encouraged. But sometimes, high risk takers could decide to go for new projects that is projected to guarantee a great success in the future. Personally, I like looking for such coins in order to maximize profits. But it's not encouraged for beginners and newbies.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Base protocol trying to rip bounty hunters on: December 15, 2020, 08:26:52 PM
I think it's a weird way to manage the works of hardworking guys who helped to promote a project. Every bounty hunter should have access to the work they did and know how rewards are being shared and distributed. But restricting access to the various bounty platforms and the spreadsheet of records denies such hunters of the opportunity. The bounty manager of the project should have known this and avoid making a sham of the whole thing.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: December 15, 2020, 08:16:55 PM
Both coins has shown great resilience over the years and as a result have gained my trust as a crypto trader and a huge fan of the bitcoin and crypto ecosystem. Ethereum and Binance have hugely contributed to the growth of the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum vs Eth2 on: December 15, 2020, 08:12:09 PM
I practically don't see either of the two having upper hand over the other. Whether the mining based Ethereum or the staking based Ethereum 2.0, both are based on the same blockchain and are likely to be viewed the same. As regarding their price appreciation over the next year, I expect the 2.0 version to slightly take the lead due to the usual growing interest on anything new and the growing interest in the staking DeFi ecosystem.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi coins have turn the market into confusion on: December 15, 2020, 04:15:11 AM
Decentralized Finance unarguably is at the center of the purpose of creating Bitcoin and the technology behind it, blockchain. And since the past years many great DeFi projects have emerged and doing quite awesome today - projects like Bancor, Aave, UniSwap and a few others.

But it's appalling to see how the ecosystem is being infiltrated today with many shit projects whose sole aim is to scam the public and disappear afterwards. And it seems such projects are becoming more common these days. Once in a while I come across the likes and keep distance.

The investing public owe it to themselves to dictate such projects and stay away from them to avoid losing their hard-earned money.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin has not been able to hit $20k price in 2020? on: December 14, 2020, 03:02:54 AM
It hasn't reach 20k in 2020 because 2020 isn't over. Smiley
We still have enough time for volatility to do its thing so let's cross some fingers and just watch the outcome.
Besides, I think we shouldn't be too obsessed about the whole price thing. Bitcoin is not about it's price... But it's use-case.

I reckon with your humorous response. The year 2020 is indeed still ongoing and it's not over until it is over.
Personally, I expect it to hit that 20k mark by the 31st Dec, even though resistance has been so strong at that point.
But whether it gets there or not, I reserve a lot respect for the king of crypto. It has done very well in this financial year.

Aren't we forgetting something?
we are in the middle of a pandemic

The market is down , stocks trading is clearly dying, people are waiting for the market to go up , investments are either on the waiting list or are victims of huge Inflation.

If bitcoins did maintain a healthy price and was able to even touch near 20,000 , this was actually a truly wonderful and fortune move for the crypto and the whole market. Instead of thinking about the price not being able to touch 20,000 , I do believe we should appreciate the market for it's stability that it has shown in 2020 and supported numerous families and even charity events.

Even if it does not hit 20,000 , it's providing people with employment,  source of income, investment , safe heaven ,   method of payment and what not , it's something that personally saved me and my family from the pandemic in 2020.

I'm in agreement with your line of view. Bitcoin has outperformed most assets in the market this year despite all the meltdowns and downturns caused by the pandemic. It has as well been a source of succor to many players in this ecosystem this year.

But even as we'll not hesitate to commend its performance so far, we'll also not hesitate to ask for more. The better it performs the more and more lives it changes for good, and better for all of us the evangelists.

It will hit 20,000 and more by the 17th of December 2020, believe me. In fact, I will tell you, it will reach 21,500.

You sounds like someone who controls someone Billions of Dollars and getting ready to pump it into Bitcoin in a few days time. That'll be a very good thing for the market. I'm looking forward to celebrate it on that day.

But I think it's not realistic to exactly predict the market price because the price movement is controlled by market forces of demand and supply.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season probably won't happen like the past? on: December 13, 2020, 09:01:09 PM
the possibility is still there as long as you hold the top altcoins in the market especially like Ethereum, Binance, EOs, Litecoin, Polkadot, Xrp most of them still have a chance to increase their price even higher than the current price. moreover knowing that BTC has pumped in over $ 18k I believe that this could affect the prices of other top altcoins as well.

Forecasts are just a guess. No one could have predicted that bitcoin, let alone altcoins, would show such dynamics. According to statistics, such cycles occur every four years. This may indicate that an equally exciting cryptocurrency race is waiting for us in 2021. 2021 will be an interesting year.

I assume that after repeated attempts to set the price of bitcoin above 20 thousand dollars, its price can be adjusted and this will lead to the beginning of the altcoin season. Most of the top altcoins have great potential to reach their ATH, but whether the altcoin season will be as long as you write, will still depend on bitcoin.

Does it mean that anytime that Bitcoin is bullish that most Altcoins go bearish. Most a times we see it happen that BTC pumping leads to altcoins dumping and I begin to ask why?
17  Economy / Speculation / Why Bitcoin has not been able to hit $20k price in 2020? on: December 13, 2020, 08:52:38 PM
I've been wondering why it hasn't been possible for Bitcoin to hit $20k this year despite its ability to sometimes gain more than $1k within days.

It had always retraced anytime it reaches $19K plus.

What do you think is the reason?

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption: Universities now Accepting Bitcoin for Tuition Payment? on: December 09, 2020, 11:59:22 PM
In my opinion, the biggest factor limiting the educational institutions from accepting crypto in general is the volatility of the market prices. Since the facilities have to use the tuition payments to pass on further for salaries / funding different departments, they have to liquidate the bitcoin that they would get as payment almost instantly to avoid losing any money from the volatility.

Another burden that they would have to face would be trusting an exchange to convert the tuition payment into local currency quickly without paying much fee and trusting that the exchanges have good security measures in place as well.

I'm not saying I don't agree with Universities accepting crypto for tuition, but I believe that they have many downsides to doing so which will prevent many universities all over the world from doing this.

Your point of view is actually as good as mine. In as much as many organizations, businesses, and individuals would want to accept or spend Bitcoin, the hurdle therein is still how to overcome the highly volatile nature of bitcoin and other crypto assets. Except those who are well informed in Fintech, forex, and crypto, it will be very hard to believe crypto.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This latest move by the US Lawmakers can kill Stablecoins but not Bitcoin ??? on: December 09, 2020, 08:26:03 PM
They're having a thought that stable coins will be a threat to their fiat money and banks as well that is why they wanted to make regulations to stable coins. However, there is a point doing such as they have stated some reasons like tether issues and connected with the Bitfinex actions before. This worried the federal reserve of the US.

Remember Libra coins not yet launched because it is stable coin and their government wanted to regulate it, too. So if they can make some laws regarding stablecoins, then what's next? They'll gonna do the same thing with the other cryptocurtency in the futute? I hope not.

Government I know will always want to control everything and they have been trying to do that in the cryptospace but have not been successful. But there's a saying that says "If you can't beat them, join them". I think that's what is going to happen in this arena. No government will be able to stop the growth of the bitcoin and cryptocurrencies ecosystem. They can only try to control or regulate the activities of organizations that into the space but the development of the sector cannot be dwarfed by their efforts. The end result will likely be that every government now owns digital currency and those stablecoins that pegged to fiat currencies may end up being the victims while other non-stable coins will continue to thrive.
