1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best BIOS for Mining on HD6950 on: July 26, 2013, 09:50:32 AM
I had an 1GB 6950 (single fan) which gave me around 440khs stock. Cant remember the voltage. Flashing to 6970 bios (i think this is what u meant) is not a good idea. U already got 1536 shader count (6950: 1408 /6970: 1536) so this will give you no advantage.

Maybe you can edit your stock bios with RBE and flash it back with changed voltage.

Did you try to change the voltage with MSI AB or Trixx?

Hello Guys!

Have done some tweaking on my 4x7950 rig (mining LTC) today and had some troubles.

I got 2x GB 7950 WF3 now on F43 BIOS, hashing very nice  Smiley (660kh/s avg.)

The two other cards are MSI 7950 TF3. They are very hot (kh/s/W also bad). So i wanted to undervolt them with cgminer (3.1.1) but it didnt work. Tried it by cfg and setting it manually in cgminer.

The way to go is with MSI AB I think?Huh

How should i set the voltage? Before or after I start cgminer?

Thanks for a little hint Smiley

Hello Guys!

A little question concerning vardiff stratum,
I have a rig with 4x 7950. Is it better to use vardiff or not?
What are the pros and cons?

thanks in advance  Wink

You never know when BFL will deliver.....

Besorg dir Pci-e Riser Kabln.

Kein Problem. Die Karten brauchen sehr viel Strom, da FX1 Bios.

Ließ dich ein bisschen im englischsprachigen Hardwarebereich.

Beim LTC minen schafft eine 6970 locker 450khash/s.

hello,

i run a hd6950 (sapphire) 1gb aswell.

400khash/s mining ltc @ stock clocks

tc 8000

ws 256

gpu threads 1

with oc no problem get it to 450 khash/s

try using cgminer (lastest version) or gui miner latest version.

13.1 or 13.4 both are working fine for me.

good luck!

Im running 4x 7950 with a 1050W gold psu.

think of undervolting your card a bit, saves a lot (heat and cost).
