1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]🔵🔵 OYSTER 🔵🔵 Anonymous Storage Generates Revenue for Websites on: November 27, 2017, 10:13:15 PM

So what really matters are the dev's intentions.  Lots of promises but not a lot of solid development proof aside from some half coded modules which may or may not work and an old centralized system which I can't make sense of because it was not only written in php but has extremely cryptic variable names.  You might as well run an obfuscator on that code base.  At least the dev understand programming enough to get as far as he did.

Indeed the Git is literally empty and the coding is an tiny element of a complete project and in bad shape in regards to documentation

If I was an angry, with the ethics and moral of an average western bank, investor, this would be my demand:

  • Make FlypMe available via onion.url
  • Make FlypMe work without Java-Script
  • Privacy statement that no logs in terms of transactions or used wallets are saved, at least only encrypted data for troubleshooting . Keys to decrypt are only available for involved parties
  • Move the website/company to a money laundering friendly country --> Research in paradise papers Tongue
  • Start guerrilla marketing at subreddits for drug addicts or start referral programs for large DW drug-vendors
  • Promote FlypMe as secure and cheaper alternative to Bitcoin-Mixer. Switching the Blockchain  is probably hard to trace for government agencies.

I am really amazed by the concept of OYSTER, I think it could even disrupt the business model of Google AdWords….

Did the OYSTER team already validate the concept with the large browser vendors of Chrome, Safari or Firefox?
Any approaches to define this new payout-tag as W3C standard?
Otherwise, I could image that the scripts will be blocked as malicious content quite soon.

To really make this concept work, it needs to be integrated into the browser. As a user I need to be able to select if I want to see advertisement or if I want to contribute GPU/CPU power.
I could image something similar like “do not track”, I could choose “provide CPU/GPU” as alternative to ads.
Without the support of the browser vendors, this new concept might be hijacked by malicious websites and scripts.

Apologizes I case the answer to my question is already documented in a FAQ or similar that I didn't find...

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRIG] TRIG Token - Blocksafe Foundation on: November 23, 2017, 06:38:57 PM
Congratulations to the AMA post, as the next level of excellent external communication, on Medium!

Maybe there is some budget left to redesign blocksafefoundation.com? I think this will help to underline the transition from a, at least often perceived as, P&D coin to one of the leading blockchain tech projects and team.

Looking forward to a even more exciting November!

Blocksafe Foundation's website is being refreshed as we speak. Smiley

Stay tuned for the 1st quarter 2018 roadmap on the Nov 30th including details on the master node opportunities.

Lot's of exciting updates to share to the community soon as well.

Happy Thanksgiving !!

Seems like everything is prepared and on track to see #TRIG at 100+ Mio. USD market cap soon .

Happy Thanksgiving !!

Many of those questions are being answered in $trig telegram chat.

We just added a new addition to our business dev team . Want more details on that as well ?  - check out our $trig project chat .
https://t.me/trigcoin

I am sorry, but I won't install a new messenger software each time I am asking for basic information about a token in the largest and most active crypto-forum.

What is the reason for not fostering the community, by answering questions, in this forum-thread as single source of truth for potential investors?

Answering questions only in a semi-public, for example not indexed by search-engines, messenger group gives the impression that a certain level of intransparency is wanted?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VeChain (VEN) discussion on: November 05, 2017, 07:51:43 PM
That's interesting...

Their business model is anti counterfeiting, but they advertise with pictures of the German supermarket  Lidl on their homepage.
https://www.vechain.com/static/img/demo_05.71e8fc6.png

Would be nice to know if the German supermarket giant, exceeding $90 billion revenue, approved this picture.
Otherwise they might sue VeChain, be it from the Lidl HKG office:
http://www.lidl.com.hk/cps/rde/career_lidl_hk/hs.xsl/index.htm

On the other hand, by connecting the dots....
Kühne + Nagel (Large German logistics company) + Lidl web shop based on Alibaba + VeChain to protect German products from being counterfeit in China could make perfect sense.

Dear Blocksafe team,

sincere apologizes for some more open questions from my side:
  • What is the planned date for the next release of your roadmap? In terms of planning and milestones, what timeframe will be covered by the new roadmap?
  • What is the estimated timeframe for releasing the pilots to the public?
  • Could you please describe the functional scope of the pilots in reference to your whitepaper?
  • When is the meeting w. the Chicago PD IT-department planned and what would be the next step after a successful meeting?

Many thanks for your time and response in advance!

I haven't seen any Altcoin in this forum yet where so many high reputation / senior members are annoyed about the project.

Good time to buy?  Huh

Likely, but you gotta have patience.

for the past so many months i am seeing this type of message of saying very good [Suspicious link removed]d to hold it, luckily i sold all my icn at 0.002btc and now i will buy back more as i have earned a lot and this will be my investment for 1 yr hoping that the price will boom till then.

Are you the guy that complained that his account on the platform was locked because of money laundry policy issues?  Cheesy

Dear Blocksafe team,

congratulation to your great project and achievements!
I really like to project and I am considering to invest some BTC.

However, I went to through the white-paper, forum posts and tweets and I have some open technical questions.

  • Is there a Git-repository available to have a closer look at the current status of the implementation of DLT stack?
  • Any technical architecture design documents available?
  • Will the smart-guns be IoT-devices or part of a Blockchain or both in parallel?
  • Assuming Smart-Guns will need electricity and Blockchain transaction are compute intensive. What is your goal, in terms of time, for carrying the gun without the need to recharge?
  • Will your Smart-Gun require a GSM-card, connected smartphone or WIFI?
  • Any detailed concept available how the gun will behave if no network is available, e.g. offline capabilities?
  • Is there any detailed technological information available how secure software- or firmware updates will be implemented? For example man in the middle attacks?

Many thanks for your time and response in advance!

Welchen Einfluss hat aus euer Sicht, die nahende Meldung auf dieser Mailinglist dass die produktive Version (Release Candidate) der Segwit2x Implementierung fertig programmiert ist?
https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-segwit2x/2017-July/000139.html

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / [Hold] Noobs 2cents on: July 16, 2017, 11:38:29 AM
Hello,

While the market terribly crashes, I want to share my thoughts about the current developments with the community by sharing my first post here.

•   Hard forks like Segwit2x prove that cryptocurrencies are superior to the legacy financial markets and institutions
Although every software developer learns not to break downwards compatibility (aka hard fork), it sometime happens. This might happen to disruptive technology changes or innovations or due to lack of governance.
However being able to disruptively fork software for innovation is nothing that the current financial industry and institutions can provide at this scale.
Banks and insurances are dinosaurian doomed by their mainframe legacy software and regulation that prevents them from innovation
Even companies like Paypal have to consider many stakeholders and restrictions when they want to innovate with their backend software (Blockchain / system of records).
Therefore cryptocurrencies and their technologies are able to evolve permanently and exponentially compared to legacy financial software and institutions

If there is a better fork, coin or token, the resources move there with a few trades on an exchange.  Imagine what effort it takes if banks want to replace their Cobol based mainframe software.

But, what has to be improved by the community:
Every coin, token has to consider disruptive innovation like hard forks by its governance.
This means there has to be software governance and a plan what will be done in cases like hard forks:
o   Impact / Roll-Out
  • Miners
  • Wallets
  • Exchanges

Having a look at the Electrum documentation for a hard fork, shows me that the current hard fork process is a far away from end-user / mass adaption and the current crash reflects this issue:
http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/hardfork.html

Maybe some kind of continuous integration (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuous_integration) process or governance for cryptocurrencies and blockchains and their dependencies has to be established?

Summary:
To prevent crashes as of this month, consider hard forks and disruptive innovation as a part of the cryptocurrencies evolution, but let this happen under governance and make this process transparent for end-users.
For these reasons, like in the very early software days, I think commercial coins and tokens and in advantage compared to community driven approaches.
Companies like Oracle, Microsoft or SAP sometimes are more rationale and provide a better “end-user-experiences” compared to some projects in the open-source space that are hijacked by dogmatic nerds.

•Cryptocurrencies are a bubble, currently the market cap is a Eifel-tower pattern

There is no historic example available about people trading a virtual commodity, basically software-code, on a legacy stock market.
But ask yourself and peers:

•Eifel-tower pattern

https://cointelegraph.com/news/the-brief-history-of-bubbles
There are some examples that cryptocurrencies did quite well after showing an Eifel tower pattern.
So, relax and go to coinmarketcap.com and imagine the current crash is the same like with XRP around 1st April and remember the experts at the Polo trollbox laughing at the new XRP bag holders.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ripple/
As well the DASH chart recovered after several Eifel tower patterns:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dash/

•My 2cents about trading
I think at 1st of August you are already far too late to enter the market again.

Monitor this mailing list and wait until the final Segwit2x Release Candidate (RC) is announced today. (Which time zone?):
https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-segwit2x/2017-July/000139.html

Remember this planning:
https://github.com/segwit2x/segwit2x.github.io

On Thursday the miners will update their software, I assume they will be rationale by sticking to the majority in order not to lose or risk their investments in hardware and energy.

Therefore fast movers will already start to buy today after the RC mailing list announcement or latest on Thursday again.

Looking forward to read your feedback if this post helped to regain confidence
