It's happening again. The miner hangs until you reboot it.
Didn't want to babysit for pennies last night so I just shut it off.

Ugh, the A3 is glitching out for the third time today. I check the top miners and their hashes are reduced as a well.

Used to mine ETH as foundation to cover the electric bill and then switch to speculative coins. Seems like I have to mine speculative either way what makes me uncomfortable.
What coins can keep a certain level of profitability in medium term w/o large swings?
They are all shit coins. Is bliss making any custom firmware for the A3?
I would love the ability to underclock a certain chain and overclock the rest. One chain is consistently 10c hotter than the rest.
Undervolting would be amazing as well.

Profits are visibly decreasing by a good percentage every hour now. I wonder when it'll taper off....
Just based on the global hash rate, it looks like most of these boxes are online now. I would say the tapering is starting. My guess is somewhere in the $50 - $100 / day category until the next batch. Less than $50 a day is a deterrent for the next batch as well, I suppose. |

Just received the miner. It is freaking loud at my apartment. I am pretty sure someone is going to complain. I tried setting the fan speed to 70% but chip temperature is going beyond 90 C. What is the ideal fan speed and temperature guys? PCB is around 70 and chip around 100.. Is that too much?
No kidding, I love money as much as the next guy but the A3 is so ridiculously loud I had to turn it off and build my sound proofing box before turning it on back on. Go look up YouTube and search for the cooler style sound proofing box. I reduced mine from 70db to 30db, not exaggerating. Also make sure to buy some sound proofing foam because the sound echos inside the cooler. If you have an old carpet or yogamat lay it on top of the cooler and it'll further dampen the noise. It went from holy shit call the police loud to being the same volume as most gpus at 100%. I'm still surprised how powerful the 120mm fan is. It moves my ceiling fan if I point the exhaust duct at it. |

Bitmain specs say 1186 +/-7% fluctuation at 12v DC. Simply do that and add your psu's efficiency. 7% for titanium, 9% for platinum, 11% for gold and so on.
So the max it should draw is 1386w if you have a platinum psu. Psus also operate slightly more efficiently at 240v than 120v by 2%ish.
If the operating temperature is really hot I could imagine it going up to 1500w. 1350w is a more realistic day to day scenario.

All and all with my sound proofing box and such this ended up $3.3k. I hope I make it back lol.

Bitmain order ID also seems very simple, maybe it can be used as a way to track how many were sold.
Most of the items are sold out and the only thing in stock is the psu. I don't think many people would order a psu alone considering the outrageous shipping they charge.
Order format: xxx 2018 01 17 1xxxx
Someone can make a dummy order with the psu and simply not pay for it and we'll have a rough estimate on how many were sold if the order numbers are not obfuscated.

What has me a little concerned is that there was a notice from BM that they are out of the office until 26th January. Something about an offsite company mtg. If that also includes the shipping folks, then this might be a long wait.

-50% Sia is a complete shitcoin. Please explain the reasoning here. Why? The lead developer is very temperamental and emotional. In a meritocratic field such as Crypto I personally don't feel safe putting my money on the line with someone like him leading the project. |
