I was able to get a glimpse at the work these guys are doing and I was impressed so I stopped selling my coins and bought more. It is amazing how this project is all starting to come together. The Devs were right, there was no reason to move so quickly to just sell a coin - this project can morph into many different directions now with many revenue streams.

I'm unable to send any coins using the simplewallet. Regardless of size of transaction it reports too large (even after optimization).
I'm also unable to import my simple wallet into the GUI wallet. It rejects the password.
Is there a walkthrough as to how to import the simplewallet into the GUI? (I've also tried importing keys, without success).

I'm wary that Masternode holders can vote on changes such as these as Im not sure you are always going to get what is best for the community at large. For example, Point 3 (increasing Masternode Payment %) is basically only beneficial to Masternode holders. Other regular miners will see less return on investment. From the MN Holder point of view its a great idea, but for everyone else, it's a disincentive to mine. We are pleased to give you some updates on the progress and an outlook where our project is heading:
1. With the help of our bounty campaigns, marketing efforts and your support we managed to increase the size of our community significantly. Within 2 weeks we have now more than 550 Discord users, a large number of bounty participants and some more than 60 masternodes in the network. This is a very healthy growth rate and we are very happy about those results and thank everybody for the support. At the same time we want to encourage you even more to spread the word and help to grow our community further.
2. We are currently evaluating a new service which we intend to launch - a one click masternode setup service, managed through a gentlemencoin platform, which enables you in the beginning to hast Gent Coin Masternodes, and later on also masternodes from other coins. The System will be fueled by Gent coins and you will not have to worry anymore about setting up servers on Vultr (the system will do this for you automatically). Masternode setup and maintenance is a tidious task and we believe Gentlemen should have a service like this.
Further plans include a service to share masternode for those not able to invest a full node. We are in progress to update our whitepaper and roadmap with those new services and will keep you updated about projections for release dates.
3. We will make some changes to the protocol in the next release (which will be released in the following days). We decided to increase incentives for masternodes by increasing masternode rewards from 45% to 70% of block reward. The new reward structure will look as follows:
Masternode Rewards: 70%
PoW (Mining) Rewards: 20%
Governance: 10%
Block rewards will stay the same (20 Gents), declining monthly. Mining will remain only possible through solo mining (Wallet).

 Hi, So Interesting projects，I want to know how can be a masternode，if I had enough 10000 GEEK？  yes,you are right Once block 180k passes, which at this rate might be about 12-16 weeks (maybe more, maybe less, just a rough guess based on progress so far) Until then, masternodes can be set up, but don't get rewards, so you will see them SYNC, but don't need to fear that you are losing out. This delay in Masternode enablement is not a bad idea, as it helps decentralization of the coin, and lets a lot of people have the opportunity for a node (you could mine a node with a Celeron right now in about 4 weeks. With a good PC it takes less than a week) It also avoids the possibility that the Devs will sell nodes in the future and then run with the money, as just a small amount of mining will get you a node on your own, without spending money. I kinda feel that if you're mining another coin on GPU, you may as well set a few cores to CPU mine Geek at the same time. |

Is this means that we could mine using CPU? Can we still utilize our PC while the CPU mining performed? Yep. it's CPU mining only. You will need their CPU Miner for the unique algorithm. Add --threads=x for however many threads to use (for example --threads=2 will mine on 2 threads , so if you have quad core CPU you can still use the PC for other things like browsing...) |

I'm pretty happy with this so far:
- Geekcash Pool is working well and paying out correctly.
- Richlist is starting to get more evenly distributed.
- Explorer working fine.
- No sign or evidence of anything sketchy from the Devs. Premine is reasonable and transparent.
- Wallet is nice and clean.
- Nice website, nice logo.
- Algo seems resistant to ASIC and Nicehash.
- You can mine with a desktop CPU. Nobody is dominating the mining with massive hash.
- I've mined ~10,000 (which will eventually be a masternode) with a Ryzen 1700 in about 24 hours.
- If you leave a few cores spare (--threads = x) you can also mine a GPU coin at the same time as GEEK with no penalty (I'm mining ELLA on my GPU at the same time as GEEK on my CPU)
If the Dev's can productize the use cases for the coin beyond just the social media initiative then this could be a winner.

Shitcoin with no pool even on day 3 (dev is prob mining it all). There is no website made or whitepaper. There is a 6 million coin premine ontop of all that. Coin is a fork of Bytecoin which is naturally less maintained than the monero network. Crap ontop of crap ontop of more crap. 💩
Unfortunately I think you're correct. The pool worked for me for a while, although I never got a pay out (to be fair, the pool operator did say that they were working on that though). 24 Hours later, there is no uptake of the coin by another pool, and the premine is way too high. |

Devs are MIA, but the network is up and running again.  im going to mine a little while the diff is low. this coin is new, give it some time. Not a bad way to look at things. Mining at the xyz pool is working well, and it's a lot easier to get some coin than it was early on. Not sure if the coin I'm mining will ever have any value, but it's got to be worth a few hours of single GPU mining as a gamble. Pro-Tip : You can currently mine this using a CPU with some success, and definitely find blocks with a cheap GPU. |
