Greetings from Norway :-)
Wow, this site really gets people from over the developed world!

I was thinking the same thing! It's amazing to me with all the global political tensions there's still something we can all work on together, Bitcoin!

Hey I will introduce myself. I'm JamesTaylor and I'm relatively new to bitcoin. I've bought several bitcoins and I got introduced through websites that give small amounts of bitcoins for free watching ads etc... (faucets?)

I'm curious how the faucets work. Do you find it worthwhile?

Hello all! I'm Drew. I'm brand new to this and on top of that someone just reminded me I turn thirty in a few months so I'm kinda on the fritz at the moment.

Just set up an old dell Inspiron 1525 as my miner. It may not be the ideal machine but I figured this would be a way to get started and learn more about what I'm doing. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Joined Slush's Pool and currently trying to figure out how to get CGMINER running after having installed it through terminal.

Question: If someone sends you bitcoins, does the machine your wallet is one have to be on at that time or will you receive your coins next time you open MultiBit?

Thanks! Looking forward to working with you guys (and gals)!

I believe that if someone sends you coins, they will be attached to the address that they sent them to. So, no, your machine does not have to be on for you to receive coins. However, if you do not connect to the Internet and update your block chain, then you will not visually see that your account has received the coins.

Excellent! Thanks for answering my question!!
