1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CC][POS][X11] Official Colorcoin thread on: May 12, 2014, 07:40:22 AM
what will happen after 10000 block?
The block reward will be so low that the TOTAL NETWORK HASHRATE will very low as well.

After then, anyone who has a big mining rig would be able to fork the coin.

Can dev explain this to me, please?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Official] Cryptsy Coin Poll on: January 19, 2014, 03:27:09 PM

No Way man!  Look at microcoin carefully! That coin has the fairest launch you have never seen..

Rewards start with 0.001/block to rise the diff super high until 10000 blocks. Then rewards slowly rise with block number. So early miner / inst-miner actually got very little. The miners who join now still got fair amount rewards. nFactor makes GPU slower and slower so CPU miner can catch up and joining in later.

Very smart dev, very smart coin design. why you said its a scam??!!
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [GUILD][P2POOL][STEP by STEP] SETUP YOUR OWN P2POOL for DOGE, WDC etc. Win7!!!!! on: January 19, 2014, 02:44:14 PM
Hey Guys

We see that all pools suffer DDOS all the time. If you feel difficult to find a solid pool, why not setup a p2pool on your own pc for altcoins?

There are few guilds that show you how to do it, but I find those complicated and outdated.  Today is Jan-20-2014.

Since there are lots of people asking this, Im gonna show you how to do it in few steps

YOU NEED MEDIUM-HIGH COMPUTER SKILL TO CONTINUE!

STEPS (Dogecoin for example) :

1, Go to https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-rav  , click "Download Zip" on the right side of the page.  Unzip it somewhere.

2, Scroll Down that page, you will see "Requirements" section.  Install everything that listed under Windows system. The default location to install all those packages should be "C:\Python27\Lib\site-packages" except Python itself.

3, There is one more package you need to download, its GCC 4.3.3 you can download and install from here: https://github.com/develersrl/gccwinbinaries

4, Going to the folder you unzipped in STEP 1, Going into a subfolder called "litecoin_scrypt", then in cmd window, run this:

   setup.py build --compile=mingw32 install

Note1, Yes, you can run .py file like a .exe after you installing python. Make sure you run command line IN THAT SUBFOLDER!! (there is another setup.py in root folder, don't mess up!)
Note2, Computer environment are different. If you see a error, google it. Most errors are because of your windows missing some "plugins". Find it and download it!

5, Run Dogecoin wallet  with  username and password  in "dogecoin.conf" . Don't change the default prc ports.

6, Going to the folder you unzip in STEP1, in command line run this:

    run_p2pool.py --net dogecoin username password

p2pool.py will link with your wallet. you will see a window scrolling thousands of words non stop.... means your dogecoin p2pool is running! Congrass!

7, Job done!!  run  cgminer.exe  -o 127.0.0.1:9555 -u anything -p anything.
Make sure your router/modem has uPnP, otherwise forward port 8555.
(Q: how you know the port is 9555 and 8555? What are the ports for other altcoins? A: take a look at the network.py file, everything is in there)

It took me DAYS to find out those steps!
It takes you minutes to donate me: (well, i am told i will be disappointed.... Cry Cry Cry )

DogeCoin: D8YR7Mr9R9MGawK6ZsJsDP1dZ3kixnBZoD
WorldCoin: Wh9RmWFcj6fv5vpgjaA8fBjdt2rNBWrWoK
Bitcoin: 1PqXKJbFqtdLuZwzjyiWjg8ByeieTfRWNt

I wish this guild can greatly improve altcoin mining environment.
I hope that coin makers could make a build-in p2pool as part of the released wallets.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WorldCoin WDC | Coin of the Future | Instant Transactions | Launched on: January 12, 2014, 07:40:35 AM
Hello! After mining WDC for the last 2 days I checked the logs and I had 2 orphans:( well i know... it happens, but the curious fact is that one block was indeed generated and payed to a WDC address that starts with "1"... I mean, ours start with "w" right?

http://wdc.cryptocoinexplorer.com/block/9f459399f031c6c9b61cc1b1da528a2c56ef0648bae51b10140bdd27e9619a69

Thanks,

Thats so funny man that address is likely the reason of orphan. Some newbie miners must be pointing their bitcoin address to worldcoin p2pool.

we need android wallet, we need android wallet! so many other coins have android wallets already, and its SO EASY to carry some small funds around and pay someone.

Its so Essential for real business to accept worldcoin! People can not carry their laptop to buy a cup of coffee.

(im running a internet cafe and I accept bitcoin. Most ppl use bitcoin android wallet to pay me on site)

I saw the android wallet project is there but stop moving on for long long time.

Is there any way to push it?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - BOUNTIES - Released! on: January 11, 2014, 05:40:21 PM
Very Strange thing happened.

I switch from microcoinminer.exe to Cgminer.exe 3.7.2 to mine worldcoin, and my first 280X card slow to 500kh/s

I have 2 pc with four 280x cards in each. Both pc's first card slow down. Other 3 cards in both pc remain 750k. (no overheating issue, no HW error)

I did reboot, reinstall 13.12 driver, reinstall cgminer, reinstall cgwatcher. nothing helped.

It seems that microcoinminer has changed some settings in my system and it affect cgminer.

any help?

You can check engine/memory clock of the card, maybe changed by the miner, if correct try to turn everything off instead of rebooting.
Wait a minute an turn on and try again.

Thank you and Lexa on another post! Im an experienced miner the clocks and delete .bin was the first thing I did before I reinstalled everything.

I got it fixed, but I can't explain why this is happening:

The microcoinminer.exe screw up the "worksize" for cgminers on all my PCs.

I used cgminer.exe -w 128 for all my gpu cards.   Worksize 128 usually give me lower khash/s but Higher WU.  You know, only WU matters.

I use -w 128 for microcoinminer as well, and it is still working fine as I just tested. But I CAN NOT USE -w 128 for all my other cgminers anymore.

As soon as I change cgminer -w into 64 or 256, My first Video cards will become normal again pumping 740KH/s.  If I use -w 128, my first video card will get sick again.

This have never happened before. -w128 was my magic number for long time, until yesterday I run microcoin wallet and solo with microcoinminer.exe -w 128.

I was guessing the microcoinminer wrote a secret setting in my system or amd drivers config somewhere.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: microCoin [MRC] Buy/Sell Thread on: January 11, 2014, 01:31:12 PM
I also own Velocity coin which is the same thing as micro except on 62million coins produced 1 velocity=.000005btc...
Microcoins produced 100billion and high inflation, should it be worth the same as velocity? 1kMicro=.0000005btc

There is a difference though, Velocity had huge rewards in the beginning and was super easy to mine. I have owned over 1% of all velocity coins there will ever be...

Yea true. mcr had fair lunch that my 50Mh/s rig is mining it since pre-beginning (had many 0.0001 blocks haha) till now non-stop. Im pretty sure about the real price it is going to be.

No one is getting rich from the launch (diff was high, coins/block was low). thats why I like it.

Consider these:
1,the rewards per block is increasing for next few weeks --price down
2,the nFactor will make GPU mining difficult in few weeks --no affect
3,the block speed is still fast now, will slow down to 32 seconds --price up
4,no auto-sell auto-pool will NOT be able to mine this. --price slightly up
5,the rewards per block will start to drop after few weeks. --price up
6,the minimum rewards per block will be 10k, or 26,000,000 a day --price down
7,the CPU miners (like quarkcoin miners) will join us later on, consider this as extra "Investors" --price up

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - BOUNTIES - Released! on: January 11, 2014, 12:32:15 PM
WTB 3mil - 0.005 BTC. PM me
This price is very cheap!
why is tht cheap? Some ppl mined a few million in 15mins
For scrypt-jane -nfactor coin, price is very low, can you understand?
I buy with that price. Have you more? PM me I buy it all.

Few million in 15 mins? you are blind mate. This coin had a extremely fair lunch that early miner only get 0.001/block. When the 10000 rewards "real blocks" kicked in the diff is already climbing high. NO ONE is getting massive income at beginning 0 diff like many other coins. And even you start mining now, you are not falling behind coz the rewards per block is almost doubled and you will still yield about the same as early miners.

This is the only coin so far that really covers all early miners, late comers, GPU miners and CPU miners. Everyone get fair chance.

the only question is when the nfactor will increase to the point that CPU mining will be better then GPU mining, so I can switch it to CPU rigs. No data i can read from anywhere.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: Which Alt Coin will see the most growth in 2014? on: January 11, 2014, 05:47:09 AM
Coke wasn't the best drink
Windows wasn't the best OS
Google wasn't the best search engine

but today they are best, why?
marketing, media, people, and the right place
just follow the yellow road of the mass
the best cryptocurrency isn't the best source code
is only the chosen of the people and the viral network

Coke was the best softdrink
Windows was the best OS
And Google was the best search engine.

thats why ppl was choosing them and made them bigger today.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Bounties - Released! on: January 10, 2014, 06:08:37 PM
solo mining was okey. but im leaving for a while coz can't waste too much time on those 0.0001 blocks. its not like mrc said half to one hour. its way longer.

Maybe due to pool is down and before that the diff rocks up, the blocks is moving slowly like 1 block/sec.  We still have 3000+ empty blocks to go.

If the diff kicks in plus miners are leaving, the block time will get to 32 seconds or even more. then this 3000+ empty blocks will take days to pass.

If the QQ number and the phone number is right,

I searched through web, his just a teen went abroad most likely as a international student on 2011 and he watched lots of english, chinese and korean tv shows with poor computer skills that he asked for help to setup facebook. like showing off his food, phones, played a little lotto game etc.

He doesn't look like the "Chinese Dev" at all.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: r9 280x: Mine @ 700 KHs, then 4 KH/s, then 700 KH/s ?? on: January 09, 2014, 02:40:38 AM
to evertonfan, the 280x minimum core speed is 400mhz in that case of overheating, his still be mining at 350kh/s, not like a 4kh.

to newbie, set your target temp to 92, overheating to 94, shutdown temp to 95.  This will slow down your GPU fan a lot. The fan bearing will be the first part wearing out in few month if its runing 100% speed. And AMD said 94 degree is perfect for 280x cards and I find it so. Plus it will make your pc much quieter and you can be sure that cgminer will almost never slow you down for protection.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: r9 280x: Mine @ 700 KHs, then 4 KH/s, then 700 KH/s ?? on: January 09, 2014, 02:23:16 AM
if sounds like cards got sick (happens when driver crash and amd driver-auto-recovery kicked in, then the card will remain functional but mining slow as part of the memory is filled with junk)

try rise your voltage a 20mv, reinstall drivers and see.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin --> Solo or Pool Mining with 25MH/s Setup ? on: January 09, 2014, 02:00:22 AM
I have a 6MH rig and if I were you I would solo. Your setup is already bigger then some pools' total.

My mining rig is stable and reject rate is low, but I received lower then calculated returns from many pools. (I put in everything, block diff network hashrate pool luck etc all in my formula and running more then 3 days per pool to make sure a stable mature yield, plus im good at math as im a full time programmer)

So after all, I am solo mining worldcoin getting about 2 blocks a day now. I am also using a customized network.py to run a p2pool for many other coins on my pc but for many reasons its unstable and i dont have time to debug it.

I wish someone could have the time to release a good p2pool in binary with a external coins configuration file (make a network.ini) so everyone can easily add a new coin into it. no one needs any pools no more.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: April 28, 2013, 08:01:29 AM
Hey. I know it sounds strange that I have been here for long time, but only register today!

Mainly I stay at "mining software" section, since I am a programmer myself and I have solid understanding about bitcoin and its mining.

As I see there are lots of people using their computer for mining and gaming together.
So last night I wrote a small program (with source) I called "K-Launcher", to:

Automatically FREEZE  any miner.exe when user is playing 3D game, or other heavy duty.
Automatically RESUME any miner.exe when GPU is free, as user is browsing facebook, watching movies etc.

I have spent whole night to code, and have just compiled the code.
I register, trying to post onto mining section, and find out this forum 4 hours rules.

Can I get unlock please? And only if its possible, can I have at least 600K attachment space to upload my program?
thanks!
