1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: David Chaum's XX Coin on: July 07, 2020, 08:39:23 PM
XX Coin Betanet is launching this summer 2020. Still think a more secure decentralized message app / payment network will have its crypto fans.
2  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex or Bitfinex on: November 23, 2017, 02:28:13 PM
Due to the recent spike in new users wanting to buy, hodl or trade Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies, most of the crypto-currencies exchanges have had difficulties to cope with this surge of users. In order to answer some of these questions, a real-time evaluation of the different crypto-currencies exchanges online reputation has been set up on the page linked below. At time of writing, on one hand, Kraken has a bit more than 24% negative mentions, which the second worst after Bitfinex (a special page has been set up regarding Bitfinex trust because there are other issues due to its link with Tether and its potential solvency). On the other hand, Binance is rising in Google search volume with only around 10% negative mentions. You can check it out from time to time and propose other exchanges that you would like to be added if needed. https://www.reputaction.com/en/crypto-currencies-exchanges-online-reputation

Very useful !
Just listened to the the Globcoin guys at a crypto forum . The Globcoin card does provide personal IBAN in Euro and shared IBAN in sterling , dollar , swiss franc ,zpolish zloty. They are launching a crypto currency Globcoin linked to a portfolio of national currencies ; may be on the card one day ??
Yes that's the plan (disclaimer I work for GLOBCOIN ;-) and you can check out the first tokenized basket of fiat currencies here https://archive-ouverte.unige.ch/unige:97657 presented at a recent ITU fiat digital currency conference.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEX - NEO based token for decentralized exchange :o on: November 18, 2017, 07:57:32 AM
Aphellion is another good project building on NEO.
Not sure Aphelion ICO is so trustworthy after reading this https://www.reddit.com/r/NEO/comments/7c35ks/aphelion_is_probably_a_money_dump/
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Not buying: ICON (ICX):Why? Bancor formula sucks for investors, price cant go up on: November 18, 2017, 06:57:42 AM
Alert: We're not very optimistic about ICON ICO (ICX) prices going very high (over 5x after ICO in the short run)
Current price estimation https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/icon/ shows that ICX is doing quite good over the short run.

[NEO] The "BIG5" of the upcoming OnChain "Trust Network" event

One of the projects listed is TheKey focusing on identity management. Don't you think that non-chinese companies, governments and people will be reluctant to share sensitive identity information with a Chinese company? I like NEO but the underlying powers behind it may limit its adoption.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: November 15, 2017, 07:21:23 AM
Volatility in any asset cannot be 'controlled'
So Bitcoin volatility cannot be controlled but in the future it should become more stable. Fiat currencies have a much longer history and even some of them are quite unstable and sometimes crash see Venezuela money recently. Diversifying in different fiat currencies is a way to mitigate volatility. Of course, if one Satoshi Nakamoto wants to crash the Bitcoin then given its million of coins it may well do so ;-)
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Ethereums" Comparison (ICON, NEO, Cardano...) on: November 13, 2017, 05:38:50 PM
The article is not in English.
There are many things to consider while comparing the sidechain platforms not being limited to technology, team and community.
Sorry the link goes to the Geneva crypto investment Meetup page, which is a French-speaking Meetup. Thanks your reply anyway. Yes there are many things to consider but I have to summarize them, even if it won't be perfect ;-)
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / "Ethereums" Comparison (ICON, NEO, Cardano...) on: November 13, 2017, 09:20:30 AM
Dear all, I'm going to do a comparison of the different "Ethereum" associated to countries (Cardano "Ethereum of Japan", NEO "Chinese Ethereum", ICON "Ethereum of South Korea", Ethereum of Switzerland ;-) as part of a Swiss Meetup on crypto-currencies and ICOs investments https://www.meetup.com/Crypto-Monnaies-ICO-Bitcoin-Geneve-Geneva/. Any thoughts or links on how to compare them?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: November 13, 2017, 08:51:25 AM
I am observing this coin since earlier until it reaches the top 10. By the way. I am curious why NEO continues despite China making a ban on coins with past ICOs? Did NEO transferred it base to another country where their government is crypto friendly? I like how NEO hold a decent resistance during that Chinese announcement.
NEO isn't only for ICOs. Actually it can do decentralized apps (dApps), also known as smart contracts, with features that other "Ethereums" don't have like strongly linking a NEO address to a real-world identity with certificates.
