Hi all,
I've managed to get back on top of things, after doing some freelance work for a while.
Everyone is quite keen for an update on things, so here we go:
Mooncoin 0.13 release is very stable.
Total resident memory usage under 75mb (whilst syncing chain).
Time from launching Mooncoin to being ready to use, in the case of a sync'd chain, has been halved (minimum).
Standard sync time from scratch to current blockheight is 34 minutes.
Due partially to 'headers first' functionality seen in late model codebases, but mainly optimized PoW validation during synchronization.
Extensive testing with the new Dual KGW3 difficulty retargetting algorithm. Probably the best i've worked with so far, especially the BitSend timeout feature (this will gradually drop the difficulty over time if a block has not been found in x minutes).
After a lot of testing; i'm not quite happy with the new custom PoW algorithm and it will be tweaked over the next few days, to ensure that: a GPU miner is not possible, botnets do not become an issue and also to guarantee protection against double-spend attacks. Recently HTML5 suffered a 'catastrophic' doublespend at Bleutrade, and I do not wish to ever see this occur with Mooncoin.
I've also decided that Moonlite will be a plug-in module, rather than in-wallet; meaning that the 0.13 release can be done earlier, and that development can be done on each independently, rather than one holding the other up.
I'd like to see the fork to the new algo/codebase before block 1,200,000; but this is up to the community to discuss.

James an update of this impending release would be most appreciated. You have received the raised funds in your honor via the community yet you are no where to be seen. The loyal Mooncoin holders sit patiently wait for updates, an eternity. Morality is questionable when these things happen. |

Volume would be totally different after this happens.

Look for example at Earthcoin. 99% of their $2mil per 24h volume comes from China.
That is why I was looking for native chinese/japanese/korean speaking users.
I believe there are such here reading but they are just watching us fighting ...

Please do not change the current blue moon logo for now. It is appealing enough to penetrate the Asian markets.
Do you have any specific Asian markets in mind? How may we contact them? Let us be diligent in our efforts to propel Moon. Finally a topic I've been waiting to hear about. Invading the Asian markets would be great for this coin. The Chinese even revere the Moon in their myths and legends. This is the Mooncoin after all, no other coin has this property. Take advantage of it. Use it.  Yes, let us break into Asian markets. Capitalize on their love for the Moon, we must begin to progress. Contacting these exchanges needs to be done in a fast manner, ASAP. Also, we await James to release Mooncoin v0.13. I predict good movement following that release, hope to be soon. |

I've been lurking this thread for a while, and just reading comments. I have mooncoin, but since I bought this coin, it just keep declining in value, I don't know how you guys still believe in this coin but I don't know what to say again

I think you should wait for some time. Probably there is no problem and everything is ok.
I tend to agree wildbud. Nothing to worry about if developer is consistent with update. Sole man to rely on. |

im a patient guy but its been 6 hours and 0/50 confirmations. thats not normal. ive made many transfers using other coins like ltc btc eth doge and ive never had to wait more than maybe 30 mins. is this really how this coin works? i was thinking maybe there was some glitch somewhere...
As Midmir stated, this will all be fixed with the next Mooncoin update which will hopefully be available soon via James (the dev). Speed increase will be soon. |

There has been turmoil lately every time a voice comes out who develops nothing is not clear
Agree that confidence is low but not lost. Turmoil seems to have ceased, a common goal is evident - success for Moon. We need James back for some updates and get more projects rolling. |

Hi guys Im korean In my opinion, the logo doesn't matter. I think we need a white paper and a detailed road map. And I think we need a web site in their language. New logo is good  old logo is good But I think that two Web sites and three logo are confusing to many people. Many people talk about it... What is the real? Mooncoin.eco? Mooncoin.com? Bluemoon? M logo? I think we need integration. This is a good suggestion IMO. All non .com websites should link up to the one main .com website as a 403 link. The owners of the different websites should work together to merge content onto the .com and then 403 link their sites to the .com site.. at the top of the website there should be different buttons to click to select different languages. In this way all languages can be on the .com website so all can read about mooncoin without confusion.. [/quote] Yes, too many websites is not good, even for decentralization. I have looked at the various one - the .eco website has a much better overall aesthetic than the .com. Who owns both the .eco and the .com? Can we transition the .com site to have a look like the .eco? Per the logo - maybe find a way to combine both the blue moon as well as the M. I do like both logos, combination would be optimal, suit all tastes. |

Yes, the desire of some ppl to be in control of project which they do not started and do not understand is so strong Do you have any ongoing projects related to Mooncoin that the community should know about? All I see is bickering from both sides but no one demonstrates proof that projects are on going and actual progress being made. Only thing visible is a redundant argument about a logo. I personally work on 2 Mooncoin based projects at the moment. Not ready to be announced yet. What about you newbie? "Newbie" - you do not know me Midmir. I do not oppose you so do not try to belittle me for such a reason as having a new account on this forum. That means nothing. I have seen from previous posts that you employ an aggressive manner when dealing with discrepancies, be mature. I will say that I do oppose the creation of a board, I think that is utterly meaningless to the advancement of this coin. However, when every person is very hush about what "projects" they are working on, it creates sheer doubt. Also, lack of dev posts is very unsettling. I have seen from the Discord this AM that he stated "I may/may not have a public version of mooncoin 0.13 trial ready". Why is it that he only makes one mystique post? Why not provide consistent updates? Those are the questions that I wonder about, not something as trivial as a logo. Do not catch at single word. It was not an insult attempt. I am aware that most of the newbies here are not actually new users. I am not against anyone here. I can see Mooncoin was made currency of Future Scouts. This needs more exposure, I can not see this anywhere other than this forum. Exposure is crucial to success, something Mooncoin is not doing well. I can also see from previous posts that a casino utilizing Mooncoin was in development, where is that? We must get on top of all aspects - exposure, development, projects. Let us cease the drama completely. Everybody will always disagree with something. We ALL want Mooncoin to propel into higher satoshi range. I will send a PM to James today. We are all ready to succeed, it's been enough waiting.
Yep that is correct, we wanted to wait with posting it on Mooncoin.eco and Moonchan until future scouts themselves have released the news. There was and is indeed a casino in development. By me and Icedbluw. It was 2/3 done, when the logo issue came up. So much time and energy was spent on this issue, that I got a bit bummed out by Mooncoin. I halted the work and spend time on other projects and also had a vacation in the mean time. I have recently started developing again and will finish it. I hope to release it soon, it all depends a bit on how much people are willing to contribute to helping Mooncoin progress. This is good to hear. We should contact Future Scouts to make things official, interesting that they have not done so yet? Regarding the casino, glad to hear you are back at it once again. I look forward to its release and seeing how it runs. Sometimes you cannot control other people's actions. You must do what it takes on your end and hope others follow suit. Yes, we definitely could use some more exchanges. We've already tried Bittrex but are yet to be accepted. I personally do think it's wise to first release more features/products before trying to move to big exchanges. Otherwise, we could get a temporary spike just to fall back down. And we could definitely use some assistance for James. One C++ developer has already volunteered to help out assisting on the core and even more would only be better.
