1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can Lightning network work decentralized ? on: January 15, 2018, 08:10:33 AM
I had this idea today regarding the mempool and was wondering why there is only one?
How come it cannot be sectioned of into pools where transactions such as mining distributions with many recipients and high fees(which is always the preferred ones by miners) go into one pool and lower ones into another?
If one can do segwit then surely something like that should technically be possible? Maybe this has been brought up before but obviously most things are drowned out in forums as big as this one.
2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HitBTC scam! on: January 14, 2018, 08:52:08 AM
I used to like HitBTC but now it just seems like one thing after the other. I was recently alerted to this one coin they listed on Coinmarketcap under Presearch using the ticker PRE.
So people would be redirected from there to PRE on HitBTC. Only one problem with that... The coin that HitBTC linked to from Coinmarketcap is not actually Presearch. In fact, I couldn't find any information on the coin they named Premine when looking in the tab under the PRE ticker.
They have changed the ticker now to PRS but CoinExchange still used PRE. Either way you look at it this is an exchange that has no issues whatsoever about scamming its customers.
I still have a few holdings on HitBTC but those are definintely going to Bittrex after seeing this one. And I don't think I would move back even if they reimbursed all the customers they scammed because this appears to be something that is perfectly acceptable to HitBTC. Just look at the thread on this matter over in their forum:

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: December 12, 2017, 08:41:19 AM
Hey there, brand new to mining. Two days after I started using Nicehash it got hacked. Today I switched to SimpleMining and now the site is down... are there any open sourced mining OS out there? I've got a poor track record so far on trying to mine.
That is pretty bad luck I'd say... Just install win10 and save the 2$ fee. I loved SMOS but quite frankly I don't even need it and now that this shit happened I won't be using it anymore, that is for sure.
EDIT: Maybe I was being unfair here and never is a strong statement. It is probably the best Mining OS around and errors will occur regardless of what you choose. But it was really sketchy when this thing happened and I thought it was hacked for sure with that notice pointing to here..

Weird who is earning coins when its pointed to miningrigrentals?
That would be a certain hacker who has an account there lending out hashing power... should probably let them know what is going on so they won't be able to withdraw

Well I just calls it like I sees it and something is not right.
Also note that the notice specifically links to here which would be a perfect place to refute warnings that the site is hacked.
Either way, it is up to everyone to keep tabs for themselves. If your pool account is generating normally then good for you.
Still doesn't mean it is not hacked because they would most likely have to reroute rigs individually.

SMOS Site is hacked by someone who can't spell maintenance...
Check your pools, mine shows the same balance as last night before going to bed....
Turn off your rigs ASAP or switch to new OS would be my recommendation!
