1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZANO] New Sources|1st ProgPowZ|PoW/PoS Hybrid|Scalable|Private|Contracting on: March 21, 2022, 11:21:12 PM
Some free project feedback:

Zano lacks a clear communicable vision, unique value proposition along with a general ecosystem. This is reflected by its general lack of market interest, adoption and capitalization growth.

The website has multiple milestones marked as planned, under development or completed; but someone from the outside looking in at these milestones has no clue how they all mesh together to form a unique value proposition that will positively impact the world. As a result, they are left to speculate their own conclusions on what problem Zano is solving or which market is being addressed and these might not be based in reality.

A successful project needs to have a unique value proposition that resonates within a community that forms around an ecosystem; otherwise they are building a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist. This is an obvious conclusion if one looks at Zano’s long term performance in market capitalization, which, unfortunately seems to be following the same footsteps as Boolberry unless there is a positive change moving forward to reverse that trend.

After reviewing the roadmap milestones on the Zano website I have come to the conclusion that the most viable option available for Zano is pivoting away from whatever its current unknown direction and into one that caters to patrons of the NFT market. A privacy preserving digital art gallery where buyers and sellers along with their transactions are anonymous. This is something that just isn’t possible on Ethereum or Solana and is preventing the sector from reaching its true potential.

Some real world examples pertaining to the current sales of NFT artwork on said networks:

1 - Sealed art bidding protects bidders from having their wallet balances used against them
2 - Financial and personal privacy for artists i.e. Banksy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy)
3 - Private art ownership

In many aspects the current NFT art market is a digital reflection of the physical art market. The latter being one of the oldest markets that has maintained a firm foundation in the preservation of privacy: from the confidentiality of buyers and sellers to the value of the item sold. All these aspects present the perfect product market fit for Zano which at the moment is still unknown. While art is just one vertical in the NFT market it provides a solid basis for Zano to expand into the verticals.

Zano already has the majority of the building blocks available in the roadmap to make this a clean and nondestructive pivot in terms of a functioning NFT on Zanochain through the existing on-chain address aliasing, marketplace, privacy enhancements and efforts towards an efficiently scalable blockchain. It can provide the unique value proposition that the project is missing and help create an ecosystem that can drive adoption and growth.

For example, the marketplace can be called “zGallery” with "zNFTs" or whatever else works to distinguish it from the underlying currency and traditional NFTs.

Gallery: “a room, series of rooms, or building devoted to the exhibition and often the sale of works of art.”

Below is a clear and concise mission statement that provides zero confusion for potential onlookers on what is being developed or its designated target market:

“Zano — an efficient NFT ecosystem built for confidential transactions between private parties.”

Mercuriex has the highest volume for Zano yet it is not listed on any of the coin ranking indexes. Thus that volume does not contribute to the Zano discovery factor. Alternatively, Bitmesh is listed on Coingecko, has mobile apps, professional trading terminal, top tier execution engine and is averaging over $100,000 in volume (a criteria for coinmarketcap listing). In the scenario Bitmesh is listed on Coinmarketcap there is a high probability Zano will be listed along with it. Instead, it runs the risk of being delisted from Bitmesh due to lack of volume and liquidity.

The criteria for coinmarketcap is $1,000 USD a day volume.. minimum ...trading per coin.

Coinmarketcap Volume Requirements

  • Exchange $100,000
  • Crypto Asset $1,000

Crypto Asset volume must originate from Coinmarketcap supported Exchange.

MErcuriex has big problems. They know there is a problem with ZANO and they do not cut the coin in their exchange.

I have lost more than 15 Zano and are not responsible, I even today sent 6 zano with the new wallet published yesterday. The coins still do not enter, blame ZANO, and do not think about returning the coins that have been sent. The volume of negotiations from yesterday to today has fallen drastically in mercuriex.

The problem with these small exchanges, is that they are poorly managed, and in case of failure, even if it is their responsibility, they do not pay because they do not have the capacity to do so, nor do they stop the currency for us to stop sending.

Please do not send anything to mercuriex, if you have sent and you have not received, complain about the chat, because they treat us by independent and they tell us that we have to use a unique address every time, that I do it. They have not given notice that ZANO is wrong and they have continued to receive And now they do not want to pay the ZANO that I or my telegram group in Spanish with 800 members have sent some.

So be very careful with Mercuriex because if something goes wrong, they do not pay, as always the miner gets the worst part, as always. And I'm fed up that whenever someone fails something, the one that does not charge is the miner

I must say that all the zanos that owed me have already entered me.

This does not surprise me at all. This exchange did not have an SSL/TLS cert until after I e-mailed them about it. Kucoin is another exchange with very poor security standards.
5  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Merkle Tree Proof evaluation - Itsuku algorithm proposal on: October 11, 2017, 12:19:04 AM
Good tidings friends,

I'm posting this Proof-of-Work evaluation-draft on behalf of my colleague Fabien Coelho. My motive is to inspire further improvements to the design in the hopes it will materialize into a new standard for egalitarian computing. We plan on implementing a proof of concept for the new hash in a future research project codenamed Moneda.

http://docdro.id/GYEk2YB

The concept originated in 2007 with his work, "An (Almost) Constant-Effort Solution-Verification Proof-of-Work Protocol Based on Merkle Trees" - (http://www.hashcash.org/papers/merkle-proof.pdf) then was reignited by Biryukov et al. of Equihash and Argon2 fame with their recent work on "Egalitarian computing - Merkle Tree Proof" - (https://www.usenix.org/system/files/conference/usenixsecurity16/sec16_paper_biryukov.pdf).

The report started out as an evaluation of the latter then morphed into the "Itsuku" proposal outlined in section 4.3. The beauty of MTP is that the miner allocates memory but not the verifier. However, the trade-off for that is the size of the proof. Our hope is further peer review will result in smaller, more efficient proofs.

To my knowledge, mrb is the only other bitcointalk member that has contributed to the concept. We're hoping to expand this pool to the rest of the technical community here.
http://blog.zorinaq.com/attacks-on-mtp/

We're open to any and all criticism.

Thanks in advance!

@mrb, curious, why you're negative on the things while dev team are trying to make improvements, instead of offering constructive suggestions?? I would turn to something else if I don't like this rather than wasting time.

Not negative. I was just teasing hidetoshi, hence the smiley Smiley

I didn't take it as negative. I was actually laughing at the irony of the situation when I saw your post Smiley

As promised, after months of R&D we have submitted our MTP research to the Zcoin bounty program. This level of research takes time to mature but we are now comfortable enough with its current state that we can share our findings for additional peer review to further improve this technology. Our unannounced project "Doubloon" (not related to [BOAT]) has formed an internal skunkworks program to further the research and development of technologies related to our project. As a project, we are moving towards the proposed "Itsuku" variant defined in section 4.3 of the whitepaper.

Our hope is this cross project collaboration will serve as a benchmark for other projects to work together.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Will Regain The Mantle To Be Bitcoin on: August 17, 2017, 08:32:29 PM
People are waking up to the fact that BSegwit is not Satoshi's Bitcoin they signed up for, BCash is.

Bitcoin is more like GMaxwell's vision and Bitcoincash is more like Satoshi's vision. Markets will ultimately decide whose vision is correct.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Filecoin Presale Raises $52 Million Ahead of ICO Launch on: August 10, 2017, 10:46:58 PM
I don't know why they are pleasing SEC regulations, how do they intend to be decentralized by pleasing a group of people? Some of these don't know exactly what they are doing, startup is not cryptocurrency! A part of the Filecoin team I respect because they are competentens and experienced, but these accredited investors... This is reminding me of ZEC! Prepare for Filecoin Classic!

My thoughts as well.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the SEC’s crackdown could be good for initial coin offerings on: August 10, 2017, 09:43:09 PM
While I agree some of these ICOs are basically photoshop presentations with no working models, as long as there isn't any fiat capital flowing directly into an ICO then SEC shouldn't be attempting any form of regulation. Cryptocurrency is a free market experiment in self regulation. Investors should be smart enough to do due diligence on a proposal before committing any capital.

From a technical level, cryptocurrency is just data. If we all agree that some gifs are worth said value and I decide to accept unique gifs as part ownership in my startup then should this exchange also be regulated? Do you see where this is going?

Intelligence and common sense is the best protection anyone can have against scam ICOs. We don't need some government agency to "help" or provide guidelines because those guidelines end up being barriers of entry for teams that ultimately favour established businesses not decentralization.

It's ironic that citizens of a country that was built upon the mantra "no taxation without representation" are freely accepting the world wide taxation of their income, despite having no representation in those foreign lands. Furthermore, the only two countries who impose a "diaspora tax" on their citizens' wide income happen to be the USA and Africa's "North Korea" Eritrea. Ironically, the US voted for a security council resolution that condemned Eritrea's diaspora tax.

this coin is full of fraud. just an output of Roger Ver's ego. this man is doing unethical things to establish his ego. he doesnot care at all user of BCH. just making future monopoly of BCH mining pool.

Roger Ver has done more to promote Bitcoin than anyone else alive (aside from DPR). You would do well to remember that.

15  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will quantum computing kill crypto? on: August 08, 2017, 07:00:50 PM
With the steps forward that quantum computing is making will it mean the end of crypto as we know it once quantum computing become a reality?

I mean it effectivly makes encryption useless, someone with a quantum computer could just brute force a private key from a public key in no time. This will kill every crypto currently out there.

Do you think we will see new quantum cryptos released once the technology is ready? Or do you think Bitcoin will adopt a new layer of quantum security if that is even possible?

I'm by no means an expert on the subject but unless the good guys get their hands on some form of quantum computer before the bad guys it kind of puts a ticking timer on the whole crypto industry. That's if an extra layer of quantum encryption can even be implemented in some way for Bitcoin.

If not, then I guess we better time it just right and get the f**k outta here at the right time.

Thoughts?

All crypto without quantum resistance will be rendered obsolete, if it isn't already. The US had stealth fighters years before it was public if that is taken into consideration then one can assume crypto is already vulnerable to quantum computing.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to CATASTROPHICALLY EXPLOIT ETHEREUM MINING on: August 08, 2017, 03:28:31 PM
i wish you didn't speak about price in your comments, you just devalued all the things you said because of mixing the price in the discussions about "an exploit in the code".

i am no expert and didn't understand how this is supposed to work but what i am wondering is why nobody (or you-the self claimed security expert) has already exploited this?

By design cryptocurrency code exploits 'devalue' said currency. Whether the OP mentions this or not the result is the same. His reference to monetary value was in response to a FUD claim.

Are you saying this is Shelby?
I wouldn't be surprised LOL

and my math is pretty shitty but he sounds believable.
But to what extent is this a problem.
Like if you can get an edge then how much are we talking about.
It would be interesting if this was used in the wild and we can see it in action and the results.

Not a lot of people are experts in math and algorithm so I will let them address this.

Sounds like Shelby. It should be an interesting week for eforkeum.

Interesting concept. What is the proposed max supply? The ICO diagram shows token distribution absent total quantity.

Hey we decided to go with a Hidden Cap. The total coin supply will be announced after the ICO.  We will also have our ICO page up within the next 48-60 hours where you can find more details about the ICO.  Feel free to join our slack and have a discussion with the team https://socialxnet.herokuapp.com/

o.O

A hidden cap? Is this your first crypto project? While I like the idea, it's impossible for me to invest in an ICO that has a hidden cap, just like it would be impossible for me to point hash at an inflationary currency.

Hi, we want to keep it excited. Where is the fun otherwise in Crypto?   The cap will be revealed after the ICO finished.   And no problem you don't have to invest, but if you are interested feel free to join our Slack to get to know us better.

Fun and exciting? What you've just described is a lotto system without a known jackpot. In crypto we call that a scam.
