For those that will inevitably be asking: we just submitted our listing application with Coinbase, as per their blog post https://blog.coinbase.com/new-asset-listing-process-a83ef296a0f3. Looking forward to hearing back from them.

This was posted on the Sia Discord Channel under #Announcements

this would be awesome!!!!!

Question? If he/she was selling off there coins and not investing them in something else wouldn't they put it on an exchange like Coinbase where they can cash out instead of a exchange that doesn't offer withdrawals to the bank? I'm still learning and this might be a stupid question but I have not noticed anyone asking it so thought I would.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: i want to invest now,What coin will rise max when the bull market arrives? on: August 21, 2018, 03:26:44 AM
I'm a fan of BTC of course. I'm also a big fan of -Ripple(XRP), Litecoin(LTC), And Siacoin(SC). But these are what I'm invested in and what I like, Do your own research and get involved in what you believe in. And don't invest what you can't afford to lose. So many people preach this yet so many people invest in something then it crash's and they sell for a huge loss. Unless you're a "Day Trader" you are investing in your future. It's not for 3,6 months it's a long hall. Good Luck in whatever you choose to do. I wish ya the best of luck!

P.S. Even if what you invest in crash's you are not at a loss until you go and sell it Wink

Poloniex has had the wallet for Siacoin down for wks now. Have ben trying to put Siacoin on the Ui Wallet. Now Siacoin is frozen on Poloniex. So if there was a fork I was not able to move my coins. Guess I'll find out later lol....

I have another question. Once you download the Sia wallet should I back up the wallet before or after I send coins to it? Or does it matter? And if it is after do I have to back it up every time I add or subtract coins from the wallet?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: June 22, 2018, 12:29:35 PM
I think I already know the answer to this but I figured I would be safe then sorry. If I download Sia's wallet and transfer my Siacoins to it on my computer and my computer at some point crash's can I rebuild another computer download Sia's wallet again and enter my seeds and retrieve my Sia wallet from the network?
what trading exchanges will support the fork?

Yes if you back up your wallet/seeds you can boot up a new wallet on any device and import your data.

I believe the fork mentioned is not from the Sia team but a different project so this wouldnt be the thread to ask what exchanges would support the new coin.

Thank you for your help. I thought so but wasn't sure. Would you recommend backing up on a Flash drive? And are you able to make a couple copies just in case?

Always a good practice to back up in several places. Flash drives are great because they are not tied to the internet and act like cold storage.

Dr Charles you are awesome thank you again. I've never used the Sia UI I've always kept my Sia on an exchange. But figured it's time to put it away for a while so I'm downloading the UI now. It takes some time lol...But at 75.4% so almost there. Again thank you for your quick response.

Does anyone know why Siacoin is "Frozen" on Poloniex? I'm not looking to sell, I'm holding for a long time but I just noticed it was frozen you can't sell or buy it. Normally if wallet was down you still would be able to sell it. And it would tell you the wallet was down. This is strange.
They had sync problem with blockchain at the moment, i guess it will be OK by evening Pacific time or may be tomorrow.
You are holding the coin on the wrong exchange.
We all know that poloniex is problematic with the wallet (deposit/withdrawal) but you are still not aware.

Siacoin is now more concentrated in Bittrex because the volume is larger. The big players also moved to Bittrex. Leave that rotten exchange and move your balance.

I've never had a problem with Poloniex. But I have noticed they have had issues with wallets. But sense I was just holding I didn't think to move it. I had never seen it actually say "Frozen" that kind of made me nervous. So with that being said I will take your advise and move it to my Bittrex account. Once it is freed up. Thanks for the response.

China and Boston scammers dumping this pennystock SIA horseshit back to 50 satoshi ~ weee Wink LOL

===>

"The SiaCoin team has confirmed there is a bug in the wallet and that they are working on a patch. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until this patch is implemented and tested."

It is hilarious that an account with a negative trust of -4 yells scam and immediately 2 accounts quote him and say "yes, it is true" explaining something unrelated afterwards.

Your past in bitcointalk.com speaks louder than you, scammer
Look at the course! He speaks for himself! he falls and bitcoins do not affect how. bitcoin grows, Sia falls what here to explain? why why and why again does it fall? Where is the explanation for this !?

Sometimes markets rise. Sometimes markets fall. It is what happens every day on every coin, asset and stock exchange. Traditionally when BTC rises, most of the rest of altcoins fall. Nothing misterious here: the amount invested in cryptos by traders is what it is, and if a trader wants to buy BTC, he will need to sell his altcoins.

You can be sad or unsettled because the price is not the one you want. But claiming that a fall in price is due to a scam like that user said, or you quoted and said he was right, is simply FUD and it is out of place in this forum unless you have proofs to sustain that.

If you need a hint of what is going on, check the rest of Alts: similar trends. Check Bitcoin: opposite trend
I'm guessing they're pissed because they bought in at a high price and Sia has dropped so they need to complain. If you are a true believer of Siacoin and what they are be patient and hodl. It will return This is a great and active project. I myself purchased Siacoin at $.003 somewhere around 50sat's I'm happy and still holding. Will continue to hold for a long time. What gets me are the people that talk shit about Crypto instead of just moving on to what they do believe in instead of talking crap about a coin they have no interest in......Move on.....
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk about to explode! on: February 19, 2018, 03:34:03 AM
Wait hold the phone why is Lisk rebranding? I thought rebrands were done for a purpose or because of a debacle not just cause.. Can somebody enlighten me on this because as far as I know Lisk has been performing well and is in no need of a "shake-up".

My thoughts too. Lisk had been doing great in the past and even survived of going deeper on the major dip that happened weeks ago. Out of those altcoins on my portfolio, LSK  has been pumping eversince I bought it at $6 rate last September so I think there's no reason for it to rebrand.
For those that missed the meeting Lisk had back in Nov. 22nd and don't know why they are having a rebranding. Check the meeting out here is the link.

Hope this answers some of your questions.

Could have simply direct messaged him.  This is a free giveaway so there is nothing to lose.

I thought about that as well. But I thought they had to post on here in order to fallow the list. I believe if I read the Ops message correctly. the first to post would be number 1 second number 2 and so on....I didn't post my question to cause problems. I'm Farley new and I just wanted to make sure that something wasn't messing up on my end where I could not see his/her post. Please forgive me if anyone thought that, that was not my intention. Because I meant no harm. As you posted this is a free giveaway so there is no harm either way.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GIVEAWAY - Lifetime Palm Beach Confidential subscription on: January 30, 2018, 03:51:15 PM
Is it possible to block someone on here? Where you can't see there posts? I might have done that because I don't see a post from "The One Who Knocks" I don't want to block anyone and don't know how I could have but it appears that I might have?

Edit: Ok, I did some searching and it appears that I did not block him/her or at least that person is not on my block list. So I did a search of the name and I've found the last post they posted and was able to read it "Quote from: The One Who Knocks on January 21, 2018, 02:00:11 AM" But don't see his/her post here? Any suggestions as to why? Maybe I'm not searching the right information. Oh well I'll keep looking.
It's not just you, I don't see him either, and i never clicked the ignore button on the user. I'm not sure why he is included. I wonder how, or why he was included. It would be a bit strange if he won the subscription
The one thing I've learned so far from everyone on these threads is Do Your Own Research, and I've looked over this list a 100 times and checked to see if it was possible that I may have blocked him/her or over looked there name but that was not the case. So, yes makes me wonder?

On the left bottom under the username is an "ignore" button.  It turns to "unignore" if you (accidentally) clicked it.  Click "unignore" to toggle back to "ignore".
I don't see his/her post or name at all on this thread. And I looked him/her up and I don't have them blocked. So just trying to understand what else it could be that would keep me from seeing them post on this thread? Can anyone else see his/her post on this thread? Guess that would be a good start.
