1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: January 28, 2020, 11:42:43 PM
Honestly, as someone with somewhat of a medical background - the Coronavirus Outbreak isn't something anyone should be taken lightly. It has shown all the signs of becoming an incredibly dangerous, potent epidemic.  It's already spread across the world, with several cases appearing in the vast majority of the "major" countries. The worst part about the Coronavirus is that it is absurdly complex and virulent in nature and has several of the key qualities/aspects (genetic composition, etc.) that make producing a cure extremely, extremely difficult. Over 100 people have already passed away from it, and that number, unfortunately, won't stop climbing any time soon. The Coronavirus showing up first in Wuhan, China played a significant role in its global impact and its current rapid spread due to Wuhan's sizeable population, as well as traffic to and from the country.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people become homeless especially American Soldiers? on: September 19, 2018, 11:05:00 PM
It can be for a variety of reasons... Poor financial planning, Post-Deployment Trauma, etc. Soldiers go through and see so much that it can change the way they think/act which can lead to making poor decisions, etc.
3  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 21, 2018, 02:48:00 AM
Thanks for the explanation! This makes so much sense and sounds like it will be a great system to have here (very successful). It may even prove to cut down on the "scammers" and "trolls."

Find what interests YOU. Don't go after what interests your family or friends. Find something you feel motivated to learn about, and you will be successful. The money will more than likely follow. Also, ratemyprofessor (at least in the States) will be your best friend in finding instructors who are motivated to teaching you the material.

I think it is a cool idea, but not sure if it's worth the cost/time. I think the money can be better spent elsewhere.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Have you experienced discrimination in the work? on: March 20, 2018, 08:27:28 PM
Not in work, but in graduate school-- because of race. It really sucked because I can't do anything about what race I am.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CUDA error 11-cannot write buffer for DAG on: February 05, 2018, 05:06:06 AM
I think mining ETH is only 4 gb cards or higher now.
8  Other / Meta / Re: Someone sell an e-mail database of Bitcointalk forum users on: November 29, 2017, 11:54:43 PM
That's definitely not good. Hopefully, (I would at least imagine) most users would use different passwords to their email and their bitcointalk accounts, etc.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (40$ BTC Bounty) Help me setting my VPS to solo mining Verium on: November 13, 2017, 01:46:31 PM
Hey, I might be able to help with this. I'm looking up some stuff right now to see if its similar to how I set up my VPS miners for other altcoins. I'll let you know within the next hour or two if I can.

Edit: What OS do you have installed on your VPS? Also, the name of the VPS service would be helpful.

Whether it be work or school, race has been a challenge for me. Just because I'm a certain race doesn't mean I'm a genius at something or that I'm interested in something. Racial stereotypes are pretty irritating since they don't apply to me.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Master Degree Important? on: November 04, 2017, 10:49:54 PM
It's important, but Masters degrees have become so common that it doesn't help you stand out as much as it had before. Now people are going for multiple degrees or Ph.Ds so Masters degrees, while important, have less influence as they used to. However, experience trumps degree in value imo.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Life with out money ? on: November 04, 2017, 10:21:28 PM
It's impossible to live without money unless you are willing to become a "hermit." Money is required to purchase everything so it's essential unfortunately to the way most of us live.
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: November 04, 2017, 10:13:52 PM
Couldn't agree more with what some people are saying here. Alcohol impacts not only the individual drinking but all those around them. Alcohol addiction is similar to cigarette addiction in that they are both easily accessible for purchase, and both can cause harm to those around them indirectly (second-hand smoke in cigarettes case).
14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe the news ? on: November 04, 2017, 05:23:43 AM
Nope! It's all biased & "yellow journalism" these days. NPR is the closest thing to unbiased I've found though.
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what is the definition of success? on: November 04, 2017, 05:10:35 AM
Another way of looking at Success (since it's subjective) is that a person feels successful whenever they achieve something that they find meaning and happiness in.
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: November 04, 2017, 04:59:26 AM
Nope, terrorism isn't linked only to Islam/Muslims. There have been several cases in the past of other religion's extremists performing terror attacks.
17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: November 04, 2017, 04:32:51 AM
No, I hate the Muslim's who give Muslims a bad reputation (terrorists/extremists etc.), and I also hate the people who blindly hate Muslim's because of the few extremists (in comparison to the overall number of Muslims in the world).
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why People Are Not Honest. on: November 04, 2017, 02:01:43 AM
There are many reasons why people aren't honest. One is that people are inherently greedy and/or wish for their personal best. Another reason is the truth hurts. That's why people often tell "white lies." An example of this is "Honey, that blouse looks good on you." "No, you don't look fat in that." etc.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why are people scared of taxes? on: November 04, 2017, 12:54:47 AM
People are scared of taxes for several reasons. The main reason I'm scared of taxes is it takes a large chunk of my hard earned money. Plus, government agencies are a pain in the *** to deal with.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you have a gun? on: November 04, 2017, 12:45:57 AM
Nope. Don't have one & don't want one. It's unnecessary in my case.
