1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Hacked Google in the name of bitcoin on: September 30, 2017, 06:29:10 AM
I hacked around with the google api and created a google search engine that provides ONLY results that accept bitcoin, please check it out here https://cryptoallowed.com
Feedback is welcome, I don't earn anything and  I can't track your searches, all searches are from google.

people are trading or keeping bitcoin but for it to dominate and make cryptos the defaults currencies , we need to start using crypto for exchange of values (IMHO).

I am on a mission to create bitcoin/crypto projects that are not dependent on ICO's or get rich quick schemes but help the community (even if its a little grain of salt), so far I launched whatifbitcoin.com, beincrypto.com, cryptotimeline.com and cryptoallowed.com. you can read more about my challenge here:

I don`t think that you have to "hack" Google API in order to create such search engine.
We can use Google advanced search parameters and find what we need.
What do you mean by "results that accept bitcoin"?Do you mean online shops that accept bitcoin?
Not every ICO is a get rich quick scheme. It`s just a way to get funding for bigger crypto projects.
If there was a better and safer way to fund projects,ICOs wouldn`t be that popular.
Good luck with your startups.

Have a great weekend Smiley

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Find out what your ROI would be if you invested a certain sum on a certain date on: August 09, 2017, 05:51:25 PM
Nice tool to make you regret procrasting investing in BTC  Grin

http://whatifbitcoin.com/

Thanks for sharing this , created this little app like a week ago and got 250k page views so far, got a ton of press and now people seem to be making videos of it https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=whatifbitcoin.com

I think it brought a lot of awarness to people outside of bitcoin which was kind of the goal although it was a simple side project...

by popular demand i added Ethereum yesterday so you could check how much you could've made with Ethereum

PS: If someone wants to collaborate, I am working also on cryptotimeline.com but still need help gathering facts, it is open source and hope to make it a good resource for crypto people..

7  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Open Source: Timeline of important blockchain Events & Developments. on: July 29, 2017, 05:34:18 PM
I created this little site http://cryptotimeline.com to me learn and educate other people about the important events that got us where we are today with blockchain technology and cryptocurrency (not just bitcoin although it starts with bitcoin Wink.

The code of the site is all open source https://github.com/surfer77/CryptoTimeline and looking help crowdsourcing the events that happened, if anyone find the site useful you can click on the contribute button.

I am trying to crowdsource some of the info because I am not an expert, I started the site today and will keep adding information myself... please mods if this is not allowed here for some reason, let me know and I will delete immediately but since its open source I thought maybe the community will find it useful.

Quote for reference.

I am amazed, just checked your site and I found it really interesting and helpful for everyone who wants to refresh their memories about bitcoin timeline. And current process - latest timeline on November 2011 right. Can not wait for the next update, keep your work and good luck, I will find something to add on your site.
Thank you very much, I am glad to find this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.0 a momentum of bitcoin.

Thanks, nobody contributed so far but I will keep adding information myself as I learn more,  today I will take advantage of the saturday.

That thread of the 10000 bitcoin pizza is amazing, I found it while researching for the timeline, this is why I think a timeline is needed and why its important to add important resources and links, also for fun and to not forget the amazing improvements that the cryptocurrencies made and how crazy is when you look back...
