1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whos paying $1000 for bitcoin cash? Are you nuts? on: August 02, 2017, 02:29:58 PM
Few years ago bitcoin was almost free, and you could mine 7500 BTC with your laptop's CPU/GPU. People were saying "Why won't you shut down this laptop in the night, it consumes electricity you know".

My point is, BCH appeared out of thin air for everyone, but its irrelevant to its price. I exchanged my 0.2 BCH in a 1:4 ratio for BTC. I think it will reach 1:10 ratio in a few months. Well, at least I hope BCH won't get higher than the original BTC, it would mean I made quite a mistake Smiley

Look at Ethereum, its 15:1 with Ethereum Classic. I don't want to predict the value of BTC in USD, but my guess is the BTC/BCH ratio will be between 5:1 and 10:1.
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why I Am Not Using Hardware Wallet For Cold Storage on: August 02, 2017, 12:11:07 PM
Currently there is absolutely no procedure to make a cold storage that is 100% safe. Best case scenario, you get pseudo-random keys. If I get some time in the future, I'll write a small library that translates dice rolls in real world into private key and calculates public address from it. Then you'll be able to run it on a CPU that does not have, will not have and never had any network access and THAT will be safe cold storage.
