3  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Coinless 2025 on: February 10, 2021, 11:48:06 PM
4  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panahon Na Nga Ba Maging "Cashless Society" ang Pilipinas? on: February 10, 2021, 11:46:32 AM
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The surprise of Dogecoin on: February 10, 2021, 08:18:25 AM
It must be happy for Dogecoin holders to get a surprise, the increase in Dogecoin is indeed very significant. Even exceeding the increase of Ethereum,
but this is due to the effect of Elon Musk tweets several times about Dogecoin. So many of Elon Musk's followers eventually became panic buyers
by rushed to buy Dogecoin. And it is proven that the increase in Dogecoin is only temporary, now the Dogecoin price is slowly falling. Because some
people have taken profit from Dogecoin and switched investments in other coins. So those who buy Dogecoin at peak prices have to be patient for
Dogecoin pump again, although I doubt it will happen again in the near future.

I just wonder why Elon Musk did not invest their $1.5 Million in Dogecoin instead of Bitcoin. If they did that, they might make people more surprised and probably make the Doge market current bull performance double. Maybe he will do a more surprising expose in the future that will surely benefit more the Doge Holders.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk changed the market circles on: February 10, 2021, 04:59:50 AM
We'll see what Elon Musk does in the coming days regarding Bitcoin, but the fact that the richest man in the world wants to become a Bitcoiner is a good thing. With 44 million followers on Twitter, Elon Musk has a big influence in which Bitcoin and its holders will surely benefit. Also, It will be a great thing if he uses his aura to help as many people as possible to truly understand the liberating power of Bitcoin.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Real fact behind crypto ban in Nigeria on: February 09, 2021, 01:25:59 PM
Finally CBN gives the main reason why they put ban on crypto in Nigeria, the fact is there are many bad eggs among the good eggs, online romance scammers are now using bitcoin as their benefactor to cashing out money easily with no traces, read news here

https://www.arise.tv/how-fbi-alerted-nigerias-central-bank-to-scammers-using-cryptocurrencies-to-defraud-the-west/

Assuming that Nigeria doesn't know about these scams. Is it possible that they will not ban cryptocurrency if the FBI does not send an alert to the government that lots of scam US dollars have entered Nigeria through cryptocurrency? We all know how much the US dollars also help countries to grow their economies. Here in our country, the US dollar remittances help our economy a lot that if $200 million comes every week it is already a big help to the people.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: February 08, 2021, 02:09:27 PM
"No highs, no lows, only Doge"

"Dogecoin is the people’s crypto"

This guy is only playing with you and the markets. It's all fun for him, he's just trolling.

There are different ways to promote something and maybe this is the way he thinks to pump up Doge. If only he isn't famous, I don't think anything good will happen to this tweet and probably the Doge market will not go up this much. Also, I don't think he is just playing around with the market because maybe he is a Doge holder, as he put a Doge Company CEO in his Twitter profile before.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigerian Banks To Close Accounts Involved with Crypto on: February 08, 2021, 11:01:59 AM

You should expect your accounts to be suspended soon if you've transacted with Binance Nigeria and other exchanges or custodial service using your bank account before. I hope you will find other ways to convert your cryptocurrencies to fiat and vice versa. Are there enough merchants that you can deal with P2P?

I suggest that they look for someone that they can trust who lives outside Nigeria with a Foreign account that accepts cryptocurrency transactions and connects them with their fiat local account. I know it's hard to do but there is probably nothing wrong with trying unless the punishment is imprisonment.
10  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Miami mayor considers bitcoin investment on: February 08, 2021, 08:33:46 AM
We have seen how much the Cryptocurrency market has changed today, so I think this is one of the things that has helped to make it even stronger, especially of course Bitcoin. Maybe at the beginning of this announcement by the Mayor on Jan 14, the residents especially the officials are probably started immediately joining crypto investments. If the population is large here, it is helping to develop the Crypto Market and does not even include other areas that may be attracted by this news.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Acquiring bitcoin: "Buy" vs "Convert" on: February 08, 2021, 03:57:48 AM
To me, it looks like buy and convert just means the same thing because they both get what we want to happen to have something like Bitcoin and eventually exchange it to make money on investments. After all, earning money is the most reason for all of us so we want to have Bitcoin.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miami To Start Paying Salaries In Bitcoin Soon on: February 07, 2021, 09:42:54 AM
I think it should be by choice per employee, not all want to accept their money via bitcoin because price can change anytime if it's inside a bitcoin wallet. $500 is still a big difference if price fluctuates. I would prefer receiving it half in bank then half crypto so the salary from crypto can be considered a long-term investment.

I think this is just optional to the workers if they want to receive salary thru Bitcoin or not. They can certainly sign a contract with someone of which company that the payment for services will be done in Bitcoins but remittances to the government (payroll taxes, income tax and etc) will surely not be done in Bitcoin except if the government of Miami will allow it too.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't repeat same mistakes on: February 07, 2021, 07:49:40 AM
We should consider the year 2017-2018 as a challenging experience for all of us especially to those who have lost their investments, therefore, we should be more vigilant of the market movement especially this year but for now, the market looks very stable and in a better position, so I think this is the time to buy more Cryptos and add more to your portfolio.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: xrp pump on: February 07, 2021, 04:31:36 AM
Ripple was not designed to be a currency like Bitcoin. As it was created as a highly efficient transaction system for banks and it excels at that. I wouldn’t rule it out that XRP might be pumped by Ripple, because they certainly do have that capacity. They could also dump the price.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Elon Musk shill for DOGE on: February 07, 2021, 03:27:36 AM
at one point Jackson and Elon had a meeting, by then Jackson had already left Dogecoin

https://www.coininsider.com/elon-musk-jackson-palmer/

But I think the key was the cool idea of doing a poll to elect the CEO of Dogecoin.

"We have listened to your concerns. We have decided that Dogecoin does need a CEO. Someone who can lead us into the future while maintaining the core values of what we are."

In early 2019, Elon Musk called himself doge-coin CEO in his Twitter account so I think this will explain a lot that probably Elon Musk is already a Dogecoins holder and not just because Dogecoin was his favorite cryptocurrency or more that he was joking about it.
16  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Sino dito ang naka experience ng last bull run (2017) on: February 06, 2021, 11:06:31 PM
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum going to Die? on: February 06, 2021, 11:31:45 AM
Seeing the increasingly fierce condition of the ethereum network competition remains a major belief for us, Binance and EOS will never be able to take over the ethereum network, which has been in crypto for a long time. I believe that ethereum cannot be beaten by any network, be it EOS or Binance

I agree, also there are lot of miners and Dapps that are still using the platform. The team who created it is still actively developing ETH 2.0 because they are looking to improve the project so that it can remain a competitor in this fast moving space. As Bitcoin recovers, generally the entire market too and ETH is no exception as we can see that it has made it to a new ATH.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: REALITIES & CHALLENGES OF INVESTMENT PLATFORMS. on: February 03, 2021, 05:10:27 AM
I recently stumbled on crypto based investment platform called allbullish and pennywise and am really skeptical about investing in it, the challenges of investing in most crypto investment platform is that most of this platforms lack regulations and continuity. How can one know a genuine crypto investment platform?

Scam investments always come in different platforms but the common factor amongst them all is unrealistic returns. Scam projects usually promise traders returns that sound too good to be true. These returns could be weekly profit, daily profit, or even monthly profits. Any time you hear about an investment program that will return up to 40% in a month or 21.5%/ a day (allbullish and pennywise), you are looking at a scam already and no need to probe further.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat and cryptocurrency on: February 02, 2021, 08:40:03 AM
Both are currencies, but for me, there are some notable differences. To make it easy today, fiat money is money supported by the country and its government. So money is controlled by the laws and legislation. Crypto-currencies are supported by their investors and companies that want to receive payments in crypto. It is not legal tender and it is not backed by a central government or bank (it is decentralized and global).
