1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.4c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: December 22, 2020, 03:32:11 PM
1 hour in and wow, switching from claymore to phoenix was a breeze. Almost a copy and paste affair. I mean, gotta setup your powershell:startup and paste in some new info but it was super simple and so far, looking good.
I would've never switched but, for whatever reasons, the devs behind claymore must not have written working miner for the DAG increase the other morning(it was a day ago i think).

Just wanted to say thanks

*Rig is running 1 rx580 8g and 7 1060 6Gb cards at a solid 185mH. The 1060s have all been going for 3 years straight by the way. Hardly any failures since i switched to using a rack server type 12v supply. Also, they're $25! super efficient and very very powerful

hello can you give me your oc parameters for 1060 6Gb tdp cclok mclok thank you

No problem.I use Afterburner. Currently my zotac 1060 6gb cards are :
Power:    65
CPU:       55
Memory: 800

There are a couple cards that can't do 800 memory OC. so a couple are, around 650. I used to have 8 total 1060s, all identical and for a couple years they could handle 850 mem stable.
I keep a box fan on my rig, on low, barely draws any power. Keeps my hottest card below 61. Most are 55 to 57.
Hope this helps.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v15.0 (Windows/Linux) on: November 15, 2020, 06:27:28 AM
Quick question. Been mining 3yrs, eth only, always claymore, always afterburner. Using 8 zotac 1060 6gb cards. They are built like TANKS btw. Well, finally one bit the dust. This inspired me to disassemble the other 7 and apply new paste, new thermal pads, and maake sure my air compressor cleanings didn't miss anything(i always clean 1 time a month, whole rig)

Ok, so i decided to buy a rx580 to replace the dead zotac.
My bat. is simple.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how i would write a .bat for 7 nvidias and 1 580? Can i or should i even be using afterburner? Will i need a loaded .bat or config to specify every single cards speed and limits etc? Will i still be able to have my rig auto reboot and KEEP settings like i have it set to now?

An example would really be awesome. Thank you
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI Z270 SLI Plus 8 Cards using M.2 Adapters on: September 04, 2017, 09:23:04 PM
I'm shocked you got even one m.2 to work! I could find zero info on teh MSI Z270 SLI PLUS and m.2 adapters. I finally just ordered 2 to put the question to rest. DOES NOT WORK.
The A pro version is good, that's the only confirmed 8 gpu variant of the z270 sli plus.
I watched a Bits Be Trippin' video and bought everything he listed. I found that the sli plus is NOT an ideal mobo and i should've bought the h110 Btc+ and been done with it.
If you somehow got this to work, PLEASE let me know what you did. There are no m.2 bios settings in the sli plus like there are in the A pro
While i was disappointed, i did NOT expect the m.2 adapters to work on this mobo. Like i said, the lack of specific m.2 settings in bios was a dead giveaway. $20 to test and not even, i requested a refund and amazon is awesome so sending them back tomorrow. A free experiment to put this to rest once and for all.

I am personally waiting to see how the ethereum mining scene shakes down come november when block rewards are cut AND difficulty STOPS increasing. If it looks good still? I'll buy a Asrock h110 and 2 more 1060s. If not? Eh, no big deal
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI z270 MB for +7 GPU's on: September 04, 2017, 08:17:11 PM
UPDATE: No go. MSI Z270 SLI PLUS will NOT WORK w m.2 to pcie. Some other models like the A Pro are PROVEN to work but you'll notice differences in their BIOS when compared to the SLI PLUS. I knew this wouldn't work but i had to test it so others like myself would have a FOR SURE answer, not vague guesses.
I tried it every which way. The sli plus will not work with a m.2 to pcie adapter. Just get the h110 BTC+ and never look back. Now i'm stuck w 6 gpus. I could've bought the aformentioned mobo for LESS than the SLI PLUS lol. I feel dumb but, i have an answer and am willing to share the info. Hope i haved saved some headaches!

I currently have a MSI z270 SLI PLUS running 6 gtx 1060s just fine. I'm about to test the m.2 to pcie adapters. There is ZERO info on the net of anyone trying this on this exact mobo. The 270 A(or R?) will do it but the SLI PLUS is a big Huh

I should have info by sunday 9/3 and can put this to rest and offer an tips or tricks on how, if possible, i got it to work.
Since this is a TEST, I didn't order 2 more gpus just yet. I will run 4 gpus in pcie and 2 in the m.2 to pcie adapter just to get proof of concept.

I will post up any and all settings that anyone may be interested in as soon as i test and verify stability and other things.

Thanks,
Josh

*one thing i DO know is that you should NOT POWER THE M.2 ADAPTER AT ALL! This is because you are applying the power to the riser. You'll run into a burned up mobo if you power the m.2 adapter itself. Just a heads up!
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin just going to $100,000 now? on: August 08, 2017, 01:26:27 AM
In 7 to 10 years? Yea, i see it being very real. I think it was Goldman Sachs saying 50k in 10 years but don't quote me on that, i ain't said shiiiiit. Sorry, had to lol.
I sure hope so. I first got interested early 2016. Used a scam site and got burned for like 500 bucks or whatever a whole coin was back then, 550...something like that. If i had gone to coinbase? Ohhhh, regrets man, regrets.
I got my money back through Visa but it left a sour taste in my mouth and i stayed away til May 2017. SInce then i've invested a good 15,000. Not a LOT of money but not a tiny amount to me. I have about 4.5 btc and 4 BCH.
I need a total of 10 i figure. I have other shit like ether, i built i mining rig for 2500 recently, i have a bit of litecoin, antshares, xem, a few other stocks in small amounts though. 90% or more is in BTC. It will ALWAYS be that way. I really think that worst case scenario is that it'll be 10,000/coin in 10 years. That'd be ~400% growth. I'll take it.
Plus i always use the golden rule: NEVER invest more than you're comfortable losing. EVER!

It'd be so nice to have 10 coins in 10 years that are worth 100k a pop. That's about 750 after taxes. Just throw it in the bank for a rainy day, maybe set some aside to play the market.

In the meantime? I need btc to nosedive!! I wanna buy a couple more and would love to pay 2500 a piece for them this year. I hope it takes a correction dip!
