1  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Should I try to sell my Lancelot FPGA? on: April 25, 2014, 07:44:10 PM
$350 USD plus shipping for 1.6 GH/s.  Wow, that is aggressive!   Shocked

Good luck with that sale.  Guessing, whoever buys it, will be for the nostalgia factor, or a bookshelf conversation piece.
Obviously it's not useful for mining bitcoin anymore.  I suppose there is a use for hobbyists who reprogram FPGAs for other tasks though.

I'm not interested in investing in more mining hardware, so I won't do the trade-in.  They were originally offered for sale on this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=187549.0

And the PDF manual can still be found at this page:
https://www.cardreaderfactory.com/download/documentation/lancelot%20user%20manual.pdf

It's about 400 Mh/s for each unit, and I have four of them.

@poochone  If you are interested, I'll sell all four and a power supply for $350 USD, plus shipping.  Or you can make me an offer.  I'll have to check on the cost of shipping and I suppose you'll want to use escrow.  I can also post pictures for you and power them on to show they are in working condition.
3  Economy / Computer hardware / Should I try to sell my Lancelot FPGA? on: April 24, 2014, 09:59:17 PM
I have four BlackArrow Lancelot FPGAs?  They aren't useful for mining anymore, so I have them in a box.  Do they have any resale value, for development board purposes?  Where would be the best place to sell it if so?  Thanks.

Thanks P_Shep!

I just got it working on an Asus RT-N16 running TomatoUSB firmware with a blackarrow Lancelot FPGA.  I'll try getting Anubis to monitor it next.  Would you recommend running Anubis on the router or on another PC on the same LAN?

5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 400 Mega hashes, 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: June 03, 2013, 12:12:48 AM
I tried to run my lancelots with win 8 now and always get an COM3: unrecognized option error. it's the same miner and batch-file used with win 7 before. driver is installed, COM port is the wright one. any ideas?
You can also try changing the port number in Windows.  Under device manager, find the port, select Properties -> Port Settings -> Advanced -> Com Port Number

Dont know if this is on topic, I have 5xlancelots, But 2 of them are not recognized by the computer?
I was having a bit of a similar problem.  On the command line, when I started cgminer, I was using -S com9 -S com10 and so on.  The one on com9 would work but the other com ports above that wouldn't.  Then I read the README file said to do it like this under Windows:  -S \\.\COMnn

The default Windows cgminer builds appear to require OpenCL.dll installed on the system.
There is a cgminer-nogpu.exe in the windows binary zip file Smiley
Don't know how I missed that one.  Could have saved me a lot of time :-)  Thanks.  I was stuck in the newbie area, so I couldn't post here earlier.

I received my 4 units a few days ago.  Thank you.

I had trouble getting it to work with cgminer right away. So I was using BitMinter for a few days at first.

The default Windows cgminer builds appear to require OpenCL.dll installed on the system.  I built from source without that dependency, but still couldn't get it to work.  It appears that for com ports above 9, you have to list them in the arguments as  -S \\.\comXX. instead of -S comXX. This was in the README.  I should have read it more closely at the beginning.  It's working fine now on my Windows desktop.

Cgminer is much less resource intensive than BitMinter, which ran under Java.  I also have an Asus RT-N16 router with TomatoUSB firmware on it with Optware installed.  I've read about people running cgminer under OpenWrt.  Anyone know how to get cgminer running under Tomato?

I've been lurking on the forums for a while.  Forgot the time requirement to get out of newbie land.  I wasn't logged in so all my time reading the forum didn't count.

My total time logged in seems stuck at 1 hr 33 min.  Do I have to post messages for the timer to increment?  I can't get out of the newbie jail until I have so many hours on the forum.

EDIT: It seems to be incrementing now.  I made sure my browser allowed cookies for this site just in case.

I think they'll ship eventually, but I don't know how fast they'll crank up their production lines.  I'm thinking of ordering from them, but I probably won't get nearly the great return by the time I'd receive my unit.  In the meantime, I'm considering getting some FPGA units elsewhere at $300 USD for 380-400 megahash.

Can you please elaborate on FPGA?
Sorry for the late reply.  I ordered from www.cardreaderfactory.com.  Just received them a yesterday.  There's a thread about it here:

All the scams out there don't help Bitcoin's image.  Hopefully escrow services can develop to well-known services where Bitcoin transfers can be done safely and easily for the average user.

This thread has some nice charts with price vs difficulty.

https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=7427.0

However, the data is old.  Does anyone know of some updated charts?  Thanks in advance.
