1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question: Is hash rate fixed according to the coin or the gpu? on: December 16, 2017, 06:28:57 PM
Equihash and Library are faster on Nvidia cards, Ethehash and Cryptonight are faster on AMD. There are more algorithms but you can google those and decide which coins on those you would like to mine. You can also look at sites that give known hash rates for different cards and use calculators to see how much you'll make.

If you're focused on short-term profits, how much you make in dollars or euros or whatever your currency is, would be more important. If you're hoping to take a bit more risk and win big, find a coin you think will be big and having more coins is more important than dollar value today.
Ok.. is there anyway to get an approximate hash rate for a particular gpu and coin?

Hi guys,
How should I start mining crypto currencies? Right now I just own a macbook pro.
Since the fee is high and electricity is free I should totally be doing this!

Hi,
I am trying to mine coins from my university hostel with free electricity. Since i am new I am trying to understand how hash rate works?
Is it according to the coin or hardware?
