1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 27, 2017, 06:23:30 PM
I just received four D3s from Bitmain in the Nov 1-15 batch (the 19.3 GH/s version). One of the four miners set up just fine, just like my September batch miners. I am having some of the same chip temp issues that other posters are having with this 19.3 GH/s miner, but at least it is mining.

The other three miners I received in this batch are giving me the following error, and I cannot seem to resolve it:

"Hardware Version:   Socket connect failed: Connection refused"

I realize that miners will display this as they start up, sometimes for many minutes. But once configuration is complete and I click "Save & Apply," this message usually goes away and the miner connects to my pool as we would expect. This is not happening with the three of my four miners in the Nov 1-15 batch. These miners display the "Socket Connection Failed" message, and when I toggle with the settings in the miner browser to troubleshoot it, I'll get a browser "can't reach this page" error once I try to save and apply the settings (as if the miners disconnected themselves from the internet -- they are no longer discoverable on the network). A few moments later, the miners will spin up again (as if they restarted on their own) and I'll be able to reach their IP address in a web browser like normal, but they have the same "Socket Connection Failed" error message, and the same issues I had before (e.g., the browser saying "can't reach this page" once I try to save changes to settings) persist. This repeats over and over, and the miner never connects.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be, and what I might be able to do to troubleshoot it? I've opened a ticket on Bitmain's support site, but they are taking days to respond, so I figured I would check here to see if anyone here has experienced and resolved this on their own.

Here are the things I've tried:
1. Swapping ethernet cables
2. I've tested the miners on two different internet connections -- the internet connection that all my miners are on, and my back-up internet connection
3. Flashing firmware
4. Using the "reset" function
5. The tactic suggested in this thread (https://enforum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/3876) that someone used to resolve a similar issue with the S9

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

u got a bad controller, u can swap the working unit controller to this... check if that resolve your issue.

Thanks for the tip -- I'll give this a shot.

I bought 2 in the Sept 18-25 batch and don't even have a tracking number yet (I'm in Chicago). If you bought this batch and have already received your miners in the United States, did you get a tracking number before it delivered or did they just show up?

Update: 1 sold, 2 remaining.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ Miners (3 available) - October 21-31 Batch on: August 25, 2017, 12:55:18 AM
Update:

If there's some reason you're hell bent on buying on eBay, I have listed one of the three miners there. Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bitmain-Antminer-L3-with-Power-Supply-USA-seller-Preorder-/272819640541?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

I think it'll take an offer of $4,500 for me to agree to sell on eBay because of the fees, but I'm happy to sell it there for that price. It only took around twenty minutes for me to receive an offer of $4250, so I'm not expecting to have these a ton longer.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Antminer L3+ Miners (3 available) - October 21-31 Batch on: August 24, 2017, 08:36:38 PM
Hey all,

I was lucky enough to grab five Antminer L3+ miners in the August 24th batch this morning (ship date October 21-31). I am willing to sell three of them.

It looks like market price is ~$4250-4500 per miner. Given that selling direct to someone here helps me avoid transaction costs, I'm willing to sell for $4,000 per miner, shipped from Chicago, Illinois in the United States via overnight shipping the same day I get it in hand. If you need a power supply for it, I can include one for an additional $200. I'd prefer to ship to US addresses only, but will consider shipping overseas if the buyer is willing to cover some shipping expenses and so long as it does not expose me to any additional risk (will cross that bridge if and when I get to it)

Given that I'm new to the forums, I fully anticipate to be met with a healthy amount of skepticism. To put some of those concerns to rest, I am able/willing to do the following:
(1) Accept PayPal (which provides for address and phone verification)
(2) Verify my identity by sending an email from my professional email address, and/or linking up with you on any social media sites I belong to.
(3) Copy you on the Bitmain invoice
(4) Put you in contact with another forum member that I recently sold a miner to so you guys can discuss my credibility
(5) Anything reasonable that I haven't thought to include here (I am open to most anything)

If you're interested, message me for details, I'm happy to exchange phone or skype info to discuss in real time.

Thanks!

Ugh.. finally got into my account on bitmain's site, order is marked expired and unpaid after 6 confirmations of payment.  I'm sure it'll be a totally pleasant experience to deal with support and sort that issue out.   Roll Eyes

I have the same issue...Opened a support ticket about it, hopefully they respond today.

Keep me posted on your results, I'll do the same.

Hey guys. Managed to get two orders of two but only wanted one of the orders (I guess the site was lagging and completed two orders when I thought it was only completing one). Anyone want the second order? Not charging any premium or anything silly; can give you the payment address and when the order ships to me I can forward to you at your expense.

Legitimately just trying to help the community here so don't call me a scammer. I am definitely not; if you want to facetime me so I can show you my screen in real time I'm happy to do it. You'd be paying Bitmain direct, not me. If we can change the shipping address after the fact so they ship direct to you, I'm all for it. Inbox me.

PS: Have like 30 more minutes to pay...

Yeah I picked up 8 a couple of hours ago, the link still works for the october batch.

I also noticed that on that batch page, the number 999 came up, made me wonder if that's the total number of miners in this batch of D3's.

That is a crazy speculation... but this morning when I managed to get one into my cart... I saw this number 13,500 next to the D3 !!!

Nice try but here what fotoforensics says about your image.

Hack of photoshop job buddy...

Why do people keep suggesting people who are able to buy power supplies are full of shit? I've been able to buy 2 today. I dropped the link in this thread a couple pages ago; try it for yourself.

omg I need power supply. I have ordered D3 in previos batch.

FYI: Use this link (still not accessible at the moment, but may be a 'back door' after the site is back up again): https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020170802143751593t5IHEi4Q0667

I was able to buy one using this link a few hours ago...

How the hell did you find this?

you really help me with this link today, bro. I ordered today one for me and my  colleague ordered 6 for himself.

So I guess it's a scam because you emphasized two times now how helpful it was... I think in your first post you wrote about 6 items you ordered, now it is your friend...

EDIT: Sorry, same story both times

This is definitely not a scam. I found it on twitter here: https://twitter.com/edwardgrubb3rd/status/893643484837494784

I ordered using the link and the order shows up alongside the rest of my bitmain order history, so I know it's the bonafide bitmain website.

few independent people in chengdu and shenzen are confirming that they are clearing there D3 batch 1 week after there previous sale because they will start taking pre-orders of  D3+ soon similar chips as innosilicon

Edit: thats why the batch is crypto only, the 30ghs D3+ batch will be priced at $2199.00 come september (not sure if people in slack speculating or real sources)

Sounds like a lot of speculation to me.  The reason they're not taking bank transfers is they had so many people buy them, then try to sell them on ebay at jacked up prices but never send the payment so the orders expired.  To avoid that, they went pure crypto to force payment immediately.  I doubt they're going to release a new miner that quickly after selling a new product that hasn't even shipped the first batch yet.

Look at the history of L3 and L3+ they released it back to back in 6 months because they were forced to by A4 dominators

they are in similar situation right now... innosilion and ibelink are kicking there butt (not on price point offcourse) and so is baikal

Bitmain needs to play catchup hence they are pushing all the low end units at discounted prices... after they mine the crap out of them in there data centers.
Rotate d3's out and D3+ in to restart the cycle.

Edit: same sources that are talking about D3+ to there credit they leaked L3+ as well as the upcoming D3 (3 weeks before bitmains announcement ) so I may give there rumors/speculation little bit more credence.

Where are these sources leaking their information, a slack channel or something? If so, where is that channel? Thanks in advance.

T-minus 6.25ish hours to go. Think they will drop price or have a later ship date?  I'm thinking about staying up and grabbing one.  4am my time... yuck.

Same, 4 am is brutal (I'm in Chicago). Lucky enough to have 2 on the Sept 18-25 ship date batch, but think I'm going to buy a couple more for the November ship. I think I would be surprised if they dropped price.

FWIW ... https://localbitcoins.com/ don't bother with some dickheads from this forum. If you need it quick and willing to do verifications, just use localbitcoins there is someone willing to sell you 1 btc Im pretty sure

There you go > https://localbitcoins.com/instant-bitcoins/?action=buy&country_code=US&amount=3500&currency=USD&place_country=US&online_provider=ALL_ONLINE&find-offers=Search

Bunch of people, it has built in escrow etc

Thanks. I've definitely seen some weirdos come out of the woodwork. Managed to get this exchange taken care of, thanks all.

Closed.

1 BTC and paying with PayPal and this is your very first post. I doubt very much  it will happen.

PayPal is notoriously reversible and a very high risk payment method. Even established members here struggle to buy far less than 1 BTC.

Verifying identity and legitimacy hardly helps as there are scammers here who do the same thing for a mere few cents.

Escrows will rarely or not accept transactions if they detect a high risk of a payment recall or reversal.

Chargeback privileges end after 180 days and only then will one feel a perceived sense of safety in sending bitcoins.

Okay. Willing to USD wire/Square Cash/Google Wallet, too, as long as it moves quickly (I need the BTC by the end of the day Wednesday and I'm US Central time). I realize that it's my reputation that needs building, not that of others. As long as they've built a reputation I will put my neck on the line.

Edit: I'm also a law student and able/willing to send an email from my student email account to verify that way. Whatever works, willing to go the distance.

Hello,

New to the Bitcoin Talk Forum (yes, this is my very first post).

I am looking to buy ~1 BTC total over the next day or two and can send PayPal* USD. I am obviously willing to send first to a reputable forum member that I can fully verify, but would prefer a low-cost escrow if at all possible.

EDIT: Also willing/able to fully verify my identity and legitimacy; will do whatever I need to do to make you comfortable with the transaction, within reason.

*EDIT EDIT: Also willing to send on Square Cash or Google Wallet to a sufficiently reputable BTC holder.

Thanks,
Tim
