Hmm - the BTC hasn't turned up at the destination yet.

I've got the transaction ID but how can I use that to see where the BTC has gone?

I have looked in https://blockchain.info/ but it doesn't recognise the ID.

After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, wallet not going online, and a bunch of other things, I have finally managed to Send my BTC. :-)

Now I'm just waiting for it to turn up in the other place.

Goatpig, thanks for you help - you got me through a big "challenge".

Cheers

Thanks for getting back.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean but here goes.

I can't see Armory datadir. There is the database which contains this.

Progress
I have synced Bitcoin core, opened Armory, and this is what I get.

It doesn't go online. I can't get it to Scan Trans History. I can't export my BTC.
Is there a way to recall the BTC from Copay where I sent them from?

Thanks

Hi

I posted a topic, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2134322.0, on 30th Aug, but there hasn't been any response as yet.  Please can someone give me some direction.

I have continued to sync Bitcoin Core and also run Armory again but it still doesn't go online.

TIA.

9  Bitcoin / Armory / I'm going backwards with my wallet on: August 30, 2017, 04:55:29 AM
Hi

I had a problem before https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2109424.msg21176039#msg21176039 which goatpig gave some good tips. Sadly I haven't been able to carry them out as I can't get Armory to sync.

At that stage I could see the BTC value was correct in my wallet.

Since then I have run it, v96.1, but it stalled at Scanning Transaction History - 99%, 1 sec remaining. I rebooted and ran it again but the same result. I even left it overnight but no difference.

Also, it would not go online. I ran it with Bitcoin Core open and without but always the same offline and not fully scanning the transactions.

Today I just saw a new version, 96.2, so I've installed that and now it goes online but now it doesn't synchronize with the network.

I have looked through the forum for solutions and I see people have similar situations, but I'm afraid that I don't understand the tech talk.

I came across this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2091887.0 where Casimir1904 August 18 said, "If you need your coins you can always extract the privkey of the address you sent the coins to and import it in another wallet."  I read somewhere that you cannot recall or retrieve BTC that have been sent to an address. If it is possible to retrieve, undo a transaction, that would be great but can you explain how to do that please.  I have read so much now, and am so confused. I don't understand how to "extract a privkey."  I sent BTC from Copay to Armory.

Thanks

PS I was going to add my log but it's 5,897 lines long. Would that help?

10  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Problem with Pass Phrase on: August 24, 2017, 10:57:17 PM
Thanks for your prompt reply.

I've been trying to do as you showed however, Armory doesn't fully update the transactions. It stalls at 99%. see screenshot
https://www.screencast.com/t/x9PgySJM50

I've run it three times now, and even left it running overnight, hence the delay in getting back to you, but it still stalls at 99%.

Also, it doesn't always go online. I have run it with Bitcoin Core running at the same time and sometimes Armory goes online but others it is offline.

I'm very confused. :-( I read reviews saying that Armory is the most secure wallet - it certainly is. :-)

Thanks in advance.

BTW - You make a good point re image of the root key words. Mine are actually stored on a disconnected external drive so they should be ok there. :-)
11  Bitcoin / Armory / Problem with Pass Phrase on: August 22, 2017, 01:55:16 AM
Hi

I don't know my pass phrase. I thought the 2 rows of 9 blocks of 4 letters was the pass phrase.

I have a screenshot of the 2x9x4 letters and it says that this can be used to recover your wallet if you lose your pass phrase.

Can someone please point tell me how to do that.

Thanks

Hi

I thought I'd just update where I am at.

12 days after starting the node sync, there are only 11 weeks to go. :-)

I expect it will take quite a lot longer yet as in the last 11 weeks there has been the most bitcoin activity. SO maybe late Sept I'll be synced. :-)

Cheers

I'm now only 5 years and 28 weeks behind :-)

Thanks for your help.
16  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory Wallet problem on: August 09, 2017, 05:06:15 AM
"you need to be running a Bitcoin Core node" - you got me; not only do I not have it, I've also no idea what it is or how to do it. I've only used "light wallets" like Exodus, Jaxx, etc.

I've had a quick search and, as Winston Churchill said, "I'm better informed but none the wiser."

I'm going to follow this and if it's ok, if I run into any issues, I'll get back to you.

Thanks for the tip on the core node.

AH

Thanks for getting back.

I downloaded from https://www.bitcoinarmory.com/download/.

Strange - on the Home page it says .96 but on the wallet page it's 1.35 - https://www.screencast.com/t/D7Ph5f5HvinJ. So it looks like it's a legit version.
With that said, do you know how I can access the wallet details?

Thanks
18  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory Wallet problem on: August 08, 2017, 04:16:44 AM
Hi

I've just installed a desktop Armory Wallet v1.35. I generated BTC receive addresses and sent BTC from another wallet. The BTC has been confirmed as sent, 18 hours ago.

In Armory I can see a wallet but it is encrypted. How do I open it?

The Spendable funds are shown as zero.

Thanks
