1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 list of working pools/Fork updates on: June 27, 2018, 07:01:24 PM
Had my Z9 mini 2 days ago and have been on PH that seems to work.

I just noticed Mining Dutch has added Equihash switch pool so I've just changed over to give it a go.

This is newly added currently with 6 coins on the pool so will need to wait for hashrate to build up the.

stratum+tcp://equihash.mining-dutch.nl:6663

Just need to register an account on their site.

https://www.mining-dutch.nl/

I've been on Mining Dutch with my Baikal X10 since last year and their switching is very good as well as the option to choose the coin you want to payout in. Well they even provide an algo switching software for the X10 to maximise your earnings.

For those who upgraded their fan, you can skip the fan speed update and just perform the second update for the hashrate.

The problem with the fan speed update is that it will set fan speed to 50% so your replacement fan will be too slow to cool the B3 down.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain issuing 4000RMB (628USD) refund to first batch B3 buyers in China. on: May 12, 2018, 01:24:31 PM
We all have our bad days at work, don't worry about it!

I think the refund was a group effort rather than a single person's and Bitmain was flooded with tickets on the matter so they asked everyone to stop submitting. Good outcome anyway.

I've also put my B3 on uupool and earning is similar but it was left off until two days ago due to the amount of noise it makes.

I have change the front fan and removed the rear fan so it is now running pretty quiet. Temp wise, it is sub 50c for chip and sub 40c for board.

Second batch has already shipped so let see how the earnings will be in a weeks time.

So if you want to get the refund of 578USD in BCH for your 1st batch B3, just submit a ticket to Bitmain and reply your ticket following their instructions.

I have also submit a ticket to Bitmain myself. I had a live chat with them earlier today and they only said coupon will be issued

Even I found it unusual for Bitmain to refund. If the second batch is a month later then fair enough.

So they told you they'd issue a $628 coupon ?

They did not say the exact amount, they just said "we will send you coupon later"
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain issuing 4000RMB (628USD) refund to first batch B3 buyers in China. on: May 03, 2018, 09:52:45 AM
Hello people!  Life is not fair.  Whoever told you it would be and that you would be compensated if something unfair happened to you were wrong!  Obviously if Bitmain wants to offer me a coupon I'll graciously accept it and use it if I have another miner I want to buy from them.  But when I purchased the B3 at roughly $2500.  I knew what I was buying and I knew that my advantage on the network would only last for a short time.  Good grief people.  Grow up!  We're not in Kindergarten anymore...

Well, you don't get if you don't ask and this seems to be the case for customers in China . If you are happy accepting your own fate and do nothing about it then so be it. Things will never change unless something is spoken.

I submit a complain ticket and I said I am not happy about the second batch shipping and the price drop. Then I said it is only fair if international buyer can also get a refund and reference this article.

Well let's see how they response.

Based on unconfirmed information from my friends in China on Wechat, they said a lot of people in China were very angry with Bitmain about the second batch of B3. They demand some kind of refund and not coupon otherwise further action / visits will be taken.

How true this is I really don't know but the least I can do is write a complain ticket and hope for the best.

They might ignore 100 complains but might act different if there are 500+.

They said they will issue coupon but if they can refund like in China in cash or coin is better.

Bitmain is officially issuing 4000RMB (628USD) to first batch B3 buyers in China. This is apparently due to many angry customers complaining with the second batch of B3 releasing 1 day after the first batch and at a much lower price.

I have attached a screen shot of their official reply in Chinese for China customer as well as the Google translate version.

So how about all the International buyer? We should be entitled to the refund also. Guy's let's get our money back!

Hi, i want to inform you that on https://www.antminersee.com/ we have ready for presale 15 Baikal Giant-B.
Check it out.

5% off coupon: BTBGB34

A brand new company with a partial address in Shaftesbury Avenue, come on do they even know the area before using this address? 90% the address is fake or at most it is the accountant's address. Be warned!
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant-B on: December 19, 2017, 06:00:26 PM
I think I will skip this one at $4000. Well overpriced to be honest.

With the Obelisk coming out in June you really have 2 less algos within 5 months and Lbry profit is never going to be what you expected by the time you get the Giant B. Good Luck to those who's taking the punt!

And Obelisk is real ? Not scam ?

Well in their terms it stated "Welcome to Obelisk, Inc. (“Obelisk”, “we” or “us”). Obelisk is a subsidiary of Nebulous Labs, Inc. (“Nebulous”), the team behind
Sia, which is currently one of the most promising cryptocurrency projects, and one of the only with a working project"

And at least they are transparent about the quantity they are releasing and price is including the PSU.

The Giant B looks like another attempt of the Giant+ 2Ghs by Baikal. Many people paid like $4-7k for it and will take them forever to ROI.  Do your research wisely is my advise. Whatever profit whattomine is telling you now you will get nowhere near that by the time the miner is in your hand. Just like the $300 a day profit on the Giant X10 at the time was only achievable when they announce the preorder.

At near $4000 I will probably go for a S9 @ $2725 instead and even I think that is overpriced. But with BTC @ near $20k, I don't blame Bitmain on trying to double the price.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AntMiner D3's, The November 21-30 batch, has anyone received theirs yet? on: November 26, 2017, 11:14:37 PM
I've two from the 24th-30th batch and they arrived last week.

The November batch APW3++ is due to arrive this week.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 Blissz firmware (21/11 update available!) on: November 23, 2017, 11:37:45 AM
I have got another problem after tested your firmware from page 1.

After rollback to the official firmware, my temp is really abnormal. It is much higher than usually.

I have 2 D3 in the same location and they normal run around the same 70 / sub 70, but the temp has suddenly shoot right up even after rolling back to the official firmware which is quite worrying.

D3 which tested with your firmware and rolled back to stock is running at 487(default) Board temp 59/59/61 and Chip temp 76/76/78 fan at 4560rpm

D3 right next to it with stock and not tested with your firmware is running at 487 (default) board temp 51/52/56 and Chip temp 66/67/71 fan at 4140 rpm.

My D3 have never had board temp over 57 and they are normally at around 56 max but after flashing your firmware I can't seems to get the temps down.

Please advise!

Hi  Blissz,

Any chance you can give me some ideas on why my temp seems messed up after trying your firmware and rollback to the Bitmain one? I am currently underclocking it to keep the temps down.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 Blissz firmware (21/11 update available!) on: November 23, 2017, 04:24:15 AM
I rolled back because my D3 keeps going offline and I didn't like the auto fan speed had been adjusted to such low rpm.

I even tried to flash the Bitmain Nov firmware twice and temp still remain so high.

I second that with regards to the reduce auto fan speed. I have tested it on a batch 1 17Gh D3 and I have rolled back to stock for the time being.

Problem I have:

1) Following your instruction and setting speed at 400 and fan at 25% is risky. The moment I upgraded the firmware my temp went up to 80. I will suggest setting the fan to at least 59% (if ambient temp is around 20 degrees) or higher if your ambient temp is much higher.

2) I tested with lowest, 1,2 voltage at 487 and I am not getting and HW errors but it keeps stopping with no hashrate.

3) You dev fee pool keeps kicking in when I'm trying to test with different settings and it is better if you set it so that it kicks in at the end of the hour or so.

4) Maybe a way to manually tweak the auto fan speed will be useful.

5) A temp protection like the L3 can also help.
