1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | Generous Reward Staking | Advanced Staking Controls & Wallet on: January 15, 2019, 05:53:38 PM
It seems #Cryptopia has suffered a #security breach.
The rumor swirling around is that it's #ERC20 related. https://www.crypto-city.com/index.php/cryptopia-nz/

Maybe they participated on ETCV or Ethereum Nowa fork with their privkeys and lazily didn't use any precautions.  Cheesy I have (or had) some HYP in sell books there. I checked that address and it seems to still have my coins in it.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Blacknet (formerly BlackCoin) | PoS | No ICO | Snapshot on: April 20, 2018, 03:17:40 PM
When it will get updated on Coinmarketcap it still showing the old name this will be confusion for people even there is another thread with title of Blackcoin. Which coin I will get if I buy this one from Bittrex.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3017838

Probably both. If rat4 does a snapshot then he will have to market the new Blacknet as a separate project. Regardless both chains would still exist most likely. Although someone should go ahead and confirm this.

You have any plan to add this on some exchange and when it will be show up on CMC. This is still still confusing for new investors how to buy this coin instead of Blackcoin and what ticket will be of this coin?

At the moment situation is quite unclear, because rat4 hasn't been communicating with community. So community doesn't know his vision and hence we can't agree or disagree with it. So we can only wait until he provides enough information. But I think there are few possibilities. 1) Majority of community agrees with rat4's vision and dev(s) make changes to codebase. This results only Blackcoin rebranding to Blacknet with hardfork. Exchanges update BLK to Blacknet 2) Majority of community agrees with rat4, but minority of community decides to continue old blockchain as it is. This should yield a situation, where BLK in exchanges updates to Blacknet and minority of the community would have to try to get BLK listed to exchanges 3) Minority of community agrees with rat4 and BLK blockchain continues unchanged, but Blacknet snapshot would have to try to get listed to exchanges. In cases of chain split, you get both by owning BLK and keeping it in your own wallet. Exchanges are not under any obligation to give you any snapshot coins.

Should we try to revive this project?

Another explorer: https://bitinfocharts.com/blackcoin/

Gritt, could you add all of these explorers to OP?

How about we skip the IE part, once was enough. Right now we're working on what we need to to keep Blackcoin strong and relevant. Part of that involves moving away from a single dev to a dev team, that was not an intentional part of the plan but when your original dev seemingly abandons you with zero communication there is no other choice if you want to keep the project alive. Nobody is wishing ill on rat4, in fact, we wish he were still a part of the team but things moved on in his absence out of necessity.

I also wish that rat4 would still play a part in Blackcoin's development. But we can't wait forever as Blackcoin needs to go forward to face the evergrowing competition. Janko33 has been doing great job and I have utmost trust that he will continue to do that. We might re-evaluate this situation once rat4 can produce detailed explanation about future of BLK and his attendance.

Bought a few hundreds of MOIN, but not sure if this amount enough for pos stacking. Can somebody tell me how much do i need for staking?

I can try and help answer this, a few hundred won't earn you a stake for a long time unless you get lucky. I highly recommend you try and get at least 1k+ MOIN to stake as that amount should earn you a couple of stakes a week. If you want a daily stake then 2k should be the right amount, remember it all depends on the network weight at the time of staking so if you can, try and leave your computer staking as long as possible. At least 12 hours or even better 24/7 as you'll earn a lot more rewards.

based on the above questions/answer from northa/vella85, I made some tests about the required size of moin balance for good staking results.
On 15th Jan 2018 23:42, I filled addresses with the following balances: 100/200/500/1000/2000/5000.

Now, after roughly 4 days and 12 hours, I have the balances below (The wallet was running nearly 24/7 in this period):
100 -> 100 = 0 staking rewards, 0%
200 -> 200 = 0 staking rewards, 0%
500 -> 503 = 2 staking rewards, +0.6%
1000 -> 1006 = 4 staking rewards, +0.6%
2000 -> 2009 = 6 staking rewards, +0.45%
5000 -> 5018 = 12 staking rewards, +0.36%

So I wouldn't try to stake coins with less than 500 MOIN balance on it.

In the long run, the percentage earnings from staking should align to each other.
I will continue to monitor the balances and report again here in a few weeks.

You have to have those funds in separate wallets, otherwise your overall staking weight is 8800 MOIN and this will make results inaccurate. In other words it will make results of each separate address look bigger than it would be in reality.

I think we're going to fork PART. Maybe a snapshot. It raises some interesting possibilies re funding etc. More to follow.

Not sure what this means? are you saying that you are going to Fork part of MOIN? If you need funding then set up a donation fund where people can donate some btc or any other coin they like to donate with. I'll be interested to see what this all means.

Apologies vella, I made that post last thing at night. By PART I mean Particl. I'll explain the reasoning behind it and the benefits it'd give us in the next few days.

I guess it would be beneficial to upgrage to latest "SDC". Having Segwit, Core 0.15.1 and cold staking on Moin blockchain would make nice upgrades. Maybe Hardfork and donations thought, if possible.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [RBY] ★★ Rubycoin ★★ A precious gem for the digital age on: September 23, 2017, 06:31:02 AM

How would I create the new file, I'm a dummy, need to be walked through this.  And kinda need to sell this Ruby soon.

I make assumption that you are using Windows. Open notepad, add "rescan=1" without quotation and save it to /%appdata%/Rubycoin_v2/ as rubycoin.conf.
