4  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets & Security flaws on: July 19, 2018, 12:55:41 PM
I wasn't trying to look like a newbie. Just trying to find out what people think. What are your biggest concerns when it comes to hardware wallets? Do you think this solves any issue. Not trying to direct you to buy (although that would be nice). Just want to create a discussion... there are other areas to advertise, but I doubt I'll get better insights than a discussion on hardware wallets in general.
My apologies if it seems spammy. That wasn't the intention at all.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets & Security flaws on: July 19, 2018, 11:33:24 AM
Thanks guys,
Your insights are incredibly helpful. Great to see what goes through your minds wrt hardware wallets...

Have you seen BlackBird? - https://blackbirdwallet.io

What are your thoughts on it?
Not much details have been released yet, but first impressions?
6  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets & Security flaws on: July 18, 2018, 11:00:00 AM
That's the thing though, except for encrypted paper wallets all other cold storage solutions also break with physical access. Compared to dedicated mobile devices or airgapped PCs a hardware wallet arguably still offers a higher level of both physical and software security.

What about an air-gapped hardware wallet? Would you trust that?
7  Economy / Goods / Re: Air-gapped hardware wallet on: July 18, 2018, 10:55:44 AM
Thanks for your responses. We are still in development, so obviously some information can't be made public just yet, but allow me to try unpack some things...
First, the design is great. The gorilla glass is sturdy and protects the touch screen really well. It's smaller than a credit card and can fit in your wallet. And, although it's obviously a matter of opinion, it is just generally a good looking device...
Far more importantly is security, and our developers have been in the Bitcoin environment since the early days. The first thing is the air-gapping. Exposure to any internet connection is obviously the most dangerous factor in any attack on your wallet. Keyloggers, viruses, and bad actors will be trying to access your crypto through hacks and other methods, so through a mix of Bluetooth and two Micro-SD cards, we make sure your device is literally NEVER connected to another device that is exposed to the Internet. We are the only hardware wallet that is fully air-gapped (your Ledgers and Trezors are at risk when they connect to a PC via Micro-USB cables).
Secondly, perhaps the most unavoidable vulnerability is that of human error. Reading numbers off one device and typing them into another will always be a flaw because we're all human... We use optical key transfer that ensures you can see exactly who you are sending money to, eliminating mistyping addresses by seeing exactly who you're sending funds to. Then there's the MITM attack... It's another fault in the process of involving third parties for communication between users, which optical key transfer also eliminates as a threat.
Finally, our round-trip security feature gives you the ability to conduct an entire transaction on the device itself, without needing to trust the safety of a third-party platform.

Beyond this, we have yet to confirm whether or not we are using open source firmware, but are only supporting Bitcoin right now, with more currencies set to follow shortly after launch.

I hope this gives you guys a better picture of what the BlackBird does, but as soon as we are allowed to communicate more details I will be posting them here for you.
Glad to see you're interested
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ammbr Project - Global Bandwidth Tokenization on: July 18, 2018, 07:41:52 AM
We announced that we were awarded with the OpenCellular (a Facebook initiative to connect people in remote areas of the world to the Internet) grant to conduct a pilot program in the community of Ocean View, where the Ammbr mesh routers combined with open cellular base stations will be utilized to overcome barriers to access.
https://www.einpresswire.com/article/455776808/university-of-cape-town-awarded-opencellular-grant-to-test-small-cell-technology-connected-by-ammbr-routers-in-cape-town

If you guys aren't aware, Ocean View is a community in Cape Town that is somewhat like an archetype for unconnected regions in the world. ARL South Africa's David Johnson has been working with them for years. Conducting a successful program there will be a big step for us and create a benchmark for connecting other communities like this around the world to the Internet.
Not to mention, the OpenCellular units and a little extra funding makes life easier for us...

I hope you're as excited as we are!
9  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Hardware Wallets & Security flaws on: July 17, 2018, 08:36:49 AM
Hardware wallets are obviously NB for any holder with a fair amount of $ invested in whatever, but Ledger seems to be filled with flaws - what's up with their insistence not to use a tamper-proof seal?
But the Nano S sold about 1 mil units. I'm assuming anyone buying does hodl quite a bit and would therefore be quite clued up... so why trust in this?
Trezor have also suffered firmware hacks... KeepKey hasn't really had any major issues yet, but have a tiny market share. So what exactly are you looking for in a hardware wallet? Is it more of a status symbol?

Just interested to hear thoughts...

Hi everyone,
BlackBird Wallet is a new hardware wallet that we are developing which we believe has far better features than any of our competitors. It's got a really great design and superior security. The three security features take the BlackBird to the next level:
- It's Completely Air-gapped and is safe from key-loggers, viruses, and bad actors trying to access your crypto through hacks and other methods.
- It uses Optical Key Transfer so you know exactly who you’re sending to and receiving from. It Protects against accidental mistyping / mispasting of addresses.
- Finally, there is the round trip security feature, where you create, send, and receive a transactions without leaving the device. There's no need to trust third-party software or networks.

We're out of stock at the moment, but as soon as we can get more units out there, we really hope to create an unparalleled device that protects your private keys.

If you're interested to find out more, visit our website @ https://blackbirdwallet.io

We also recently released an unboxing video if you'd like to see what it looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9KegguLfbE&lc=z23huvjyzl2jgnhebacdp435giyylh3qmwmkai1uqldw03c010c

We know we've been quietly working behind the scenes, but there are a lot of exciting announcements.

To highlight only a few of the recent milestones:
1. The Ammbr token, AMR, has been listed on the Coinsuper exchange. Trading is currently suspended due to a hack so look for upcoming statements. In the interim, do not transfer AMR tokens or take anyone up on offers of AMR tokens.
https://www.coinsuper.com/trade?symbol=AMR%2FETH

2. AmmbrTech launched the preview edition of the Blackbird hardware wallet. Initially, it will support Bitcoin, followed closely by other tokens. Eventually, the platform will be integrated with identity management and payment systems of the Ammbr network.
https://blackbirdwallet.io/
And an unboxing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9KegguLfbE&t=1s

3. AmmbrTech is launching Electra, it's first product in its blockchain financial suite. The underlying infrastructure will also play a part in the eventual Ammbr network ecosystem.

4. GLOBAL BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGIES CORP. (CSE: BLOC) (FSE: BWSP) (OTC Pink: BLKCF) ("BLOC" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received confirmation from Luxembourg-based AmmbrTech that it will provide support for the Laser Network's Photon token on Blackbird, its cryptocurrency hard wallet.

Introducing the Ammbr Foundation Bounty Programme

Our programme works a little differently compared to other token sale bounty programmes, but the objective is the same – to reward you for driving traffic to the Ammbr Token Sale and creating awareness about the project.

The number of tokens distributed in the bounty programme will vary depending on the success of the token sale. There will be a minimum of 1,000,000 tokens available for the programme when the sale reaches its minimum raise, but not more than 5 tokens for every 1 click of real traffic. Bounty participants will be rewarded based on their percentage of the total traffic generated by the bounty pool.

Here's how it works:

Sign up for the programme at this link: http://blog.ammbr.com/bounty-programme/. You should already have an ETH address (one where you control the private key, not an exchange based address such as from Coinbase). It is the only way we can send your tokens after the sale. If you don’t know how to set up an ETH wallet, please click this link: http://www.bitcoinx.com/the-quick-start-guide-for-participating-in-an-ico/

Once you have registered, a tracking link will be displayed. Save this link. You will use this unique tracking link in all of your promotion efforts. The number of tokens you earn will be directly tied to the amount and quality of traffic that goes through that link.

Weekly stats will be emailed to the provided address.

Ammbr bounty programme terms

  • You can use this link in social media, blogs, forums, and signatures. But please follow the basic rules listed below.
  • We reserve the right to disqualify you from the program if abuse is detected. In this event, we will add your tokens back to the bounty pool (more for everyone else).
  • We will monitor traffic and check that the traffic you refer was generated by real people. Participation in the bounty programme must not be prohibited in your legal jurisdiction.
  • Spam will not be tolerated. You and any associates must conduct yourselves ethically and honestly and must not harm the Ammbr Foundation brand in any way.

  • You must not represent that you are an employee or are otherwise affiliated with or endorsed by the Ammbr Foundation, except that your affiliate/bounty links earn you tokens.

  • The ETH wallet address you supply must be able to accept ERC20 tokens. We take no responsibility for the accuracy of the ETH address you provide and are not responsible if any tokens are lost, nor will we be able to replace them.

  • Tokens for the bounty programme will be allocated within 30 days after the token sale concludes. Depending on your jurisdiction, we may require additional information from you in order to issue your tokens.

If you need assets to help you with promotion, see this page with logos and banners: http://blog.ammbr.com/media-assets/

Signatures are coming soon and will be posted in a follow-up message.

Thank you for all of your support!

The bounty programme details are all but complete. We will be posting the details shortly.

The public token sale will begin on 14 November and run until 12 December.

Good news as well: The Spectramesh 506(c) Reg D crowdsale (for US accredited investors) is set to run in parallel from 16 November to 10 December. This means we will be able to take accredited US investors as well as global investors. Keep in mind the token sales are still subject to laws and regulations of a given country, so the details may change between now and then, as it's quite difficult to navigate all the different byzantine legal requirements for doing this properly. We apologize for the delay, but it will make for a much healthier Foundation in the long run.

With regards to the hardware, we should have a fully functioning prototype to demonstrate soon. No details on specific dates are yet available. We strongly urge everyone to review the white paper and specifically our timeline for deployment.

Bounty program is coming, yes.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ammbr Project - Global Bandwidth Tokenization on: September 21, 2017, 08:52:11 PM
Thank you to our early supporters for your keen interest. Our Token sale will now run November 14 - 28. The previously communicated bonus amounts of up to 30% will be available, but for shorter periods so be prepared to participate. We will have comprehensive details in version 2 of the whitepaper to be released in a few days.

Ammbr Token will now be MESH (MSH)

To avoid potential confusion and better align with the Ammbr utility of mesh networks our token will now be called MESH with MSH as the currency symbol.

What sort of bountys are people wanting?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ammbr Project - Global Bandwidth Tokenization on: September 05, 2017, 05:08:34 PM
As a newbie account, we are not able to post pictures, only links. The pictures were posted from the links we provided in the original post. We should have some new pictures of the hardware available soon.

The response from the community, organisations, and governmental bodies has been well beyond our wildest expectations. We genuinely want to thank our early backers and token buyers who were ready to participate in the token sale.

Two co-founders of Ethereum and several of their co-investors have expressed interest in the project. Consequently, an urgent decision was made on September 1st, to delay the launch by a few days to review these developments with the parties. The investment group has given their commitment to support the project with a significant investment of both their time and money.

With the experience of the incoming team and their significant network within the [Suspicious link removed]munity, the Ammbr Foundation is restructuring the sale process and timing to put forward the strongest possible token offering. The token sale is scheduled several weeks from now, and we will communicate the new plans as they become known.
We would like to reward our early supporters and will evaluate options.

If you would like to be kept up to date actively, you can add your email address to our list on ammbr.com, click the more info button and enter your email address.

So guys. if you do not mind I have a couple of questions. Which providers you are gonna use for your wi-fi chain? For example in USA, New-York (upstate) or New-Jersey(Jersey city or Orange county for example). Because I'm afraid so, global internet operators like Verizon, or Time Warner cable, do not accept your idea at all. And in that case, which connections (from which one\or multiple providers) ammbr's users can share? Because if you want to made a decenralized wi-fi internet connection, you actually must have your own internet channel, satellite or wired\optical one. Basically you are must be your own provider. I just trying to understand your idea of independent wi-fi net. Maybe you can share your plans with us - potentional investors.

Like:

1) How much you are going to spend for assembling your own internet channel \ satellite connection?

2) How long it takes?

3) Why ICO start so early (only 8 days between announcing and ICO)? Without full information, without answers and bunch of questions from your future customers and investors?

The purpose of the Ammbr Project is to allow individuals (or companies) to build their own service however they choose. While we do have plans to develop our own internet channels, that is a ways off yet. The real strength of the Ammbr Project is that it is an open standard and people are able to build out the network in any way they can imagine.

We are not sure what you are asking as far as how long what takes?

The token sale is postponed briefly while we prepare for an upcoming announcement about some new developments that will benefit the project and any interested buyers. If you want to keep up to date on that, you can register your email on our website and we will email you when we the announcement goes out (expect it to go out very soon).
