Hi I have some kind problem same yours, got fed up of exodus and their astronomical high fees, they also seem not interested in adopting segwit. So I want to move out of them. For what my understandin is, you cannot export/import your keys because exodus is a non segwit wallet while electrum is, so only way to transfer is with a normal transaction from exo to electrum. I'm still trying to figure out what's best thing to do, hope some people with knowledge can help.

Hello I want to move my btc from my non segwit wallet to a new wallet that is supporting segwit. Apart from sending them as a normal bitcoin transaction that would cost me some big money (my wallet does not support custom fees), if I am not wrong it is possible to move them using the private keys and save on the fee? How does this work? Something I should be aware of? Is it safe to do so? Thanks a lot!

The efficiency of your fee is not dependent on the actual amount of coins, but on how much they are in proportion to the size of your transaction, expressed in satoshi per byte (sat/byte). So in your case: 175028/input size = fee in sat/byte Assuming you only have 1 input (we can't know for sure, but you should be able to preview your tx in your wallet to see) with an average of 250 bytes, your fee would be just above 700 sats/byte. That would get you confirmed fairly quickly right now (within 2 blocks estimation) Check it against https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ for an estimation of how long that would take to confirm. Thanks a lot buwa I have got 4 inputs (4 different times I bought btc) and now want to move from exchange to wallet. So it would be 175028/(250*4)=175.028 sats/byte? Cheers!

Is it ok to use this transaction fee at the moment or there's risk of unconfirmed tx?
Thanks!

Actually seeing that some people can manipulate the market this way is very disappointing. It looks like much worse than fiat currencies, where we are in the willing of central government banks and big financial institutions. Here we are in the hands of a bunch of miners? I thought the cryptocurrency world was something different.

Thank you Xavofat, actually am using coins.co.th only as an exchange to buy my btc, and I cannot select any fee when buying. But yes, I already knew that higher fees means faster delivering, have read it somewhere on this forum. As a wallet I have exodus and I own the private keys.
Cheers

ok thanks guys for your replies, next time I will check the number of unconfirmed tr. before giving an order for buying, I was not aware of this problem. The exchange I am using (coins.co.th) does not allow me to chose a transaction fee when buying btc, but in the past the order where confirmed in 10-20 min, everything was very smooth and quick. As a noob, am wondering how can the btc future be influenced by this and what are the solutions to it? I mean, the network is very slow even now that a very small % of the population is using btc. How can this be solved? I think this is very important issue for our beloved currency!
Thanks

He could actually be true, once cryptos are widespread and cash is abolished, goverments will be able to monitor all transactions, how much you make, what you buy, where you work, where you travel, how much taxes you have to pay, no more privacy at all, everything will be in the hands of few bankers and oligarchs. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-10-21/crypto-currency-calm-storm

Hello all,
newbie here! Great forum and been reading for few days! So, I opened an account with the exchange/wallet coins.co.th, and bought 0.01061004 bitcoin from them via 2 bank transfers. After that, I wanted to transfer my coins to exodus wallet, but I get the message that I don't have enough funds to cover the fee! Is such a fee normal? I mean it is more than 40 USD!
Thanks in advance
