2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc has no value on: June 04, 2019, 01:31:56 PM
Some people saying BTC has no value as is made from nothing. Those same people using money in every day life. If we look into paper money as terms of value this piece of paper is also without value and also made from nothing.

If we think this way then we should be only exchanging goods like gold, stones, weapons, food.

BTC, Crypto is in my opinion only next step in term of money. So we will be calling BTC money soon. It will only be huge advantage for us early adopters to get some while cheap.

When btc will be replacing money in terms of salary anyone who will one 1 BTC only will benefit a lot as with price increasing people will get salary of cca. 2000 sats and 1 l of milk will cost 1 sat in the store.

Try google'ing the term "legal tender" so you can have an idea about "paper money". One of the reason why we use paper or coins is because using good like gold, stones, weapons, food is as term of exchange is problematic.

You're correct, BTC or crypto in general is one of the next step for "exchange". One of its advantage is the ease of use of crypto, compared to fiat. This is the same concept why we don't normally trade goods for goods.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins labelled a gambling device on: May 07, 2019, 03:14:02 PM
https://ihodl.com/topnews/2019-05-05/warren-buffett-claims-bitcoin-gambling-device/

According to the sources Warren Buffet apparently thinks of Bitcoin as a gambling device.
What do you guys think ?
Is this true or something that is disrespectful for our community.

I would say my answer is somewhere in the middle , we are unaware of the fact so as what it might be in the future , in the past 10 minutes but we still hold onto this thing because of hope.
I would rather compare it to share market , rather than a gambling device.

There's nothing disrespectful if Bitcoin is considered as a gambling device. As long as it is legal in your area. And as long as you play responsibly.
In my opinion, using Bitcoin for gambling is positive because its shows that Bitcoin is recognized as a trustworthy and legal way of payment.

8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Regulating bodies on: May 03, 2019, 03:13:15 PM
Online gambling is very popular nowadays, specially those who also uses crypto for playing. With this popularity, there's ton of gambling sites/operators available. But the problem is who to trust? who plays fair and pays fair?

Are there any regulating bodies that verifies, rates, and promotes gambling sites that is genuinely fair to its customers? Not just on fair plays but also gambling sites that protects its customers identity etc. Thank you.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be considered a Religion? on: May 03, 2019, 02:35:57 PM
Considering how many Bitcoin believers (maximalists) there are, with their specific beliefs of how cryptocurrency should behave, it's becoming more evident that Bitcoin is a religion. After all, this popular movement of decentralized finance has impacted our lives one way or the other. The world has its eyes on the direction of Bitcoin as a digital currency which determines the path forward of Blockchain technology.

According to Google, the term "Religion" means the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. This becomes true especially when many Bitcoin followers believe that Satoshi is some sort of "god". Hence, if Satoshi would reveal himself to the public, many people will follow him.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? Huh

You already answered your question by quoting Google. There's no "superhuman controlling power" with Bitcoin, its technology, its usage or its creator. And we are not Bitcoin "followers", we just use the technology smart non-superhuman people gave us.  Grin

But you may have a point. Bitcoin is money, and people who considered money as something that controls them considers money as their God. So yes, it can be a religion to some. Cheesy
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's value after being more recognized and accepted globally. on: April 30, 2019, 11:53:22 PM
Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency in general are slowly been accepted and recognized by some financial institutions in some countries in the last few years. And there are well-known personalities that promotes the use of cryptocurrency around the globe.

But the questions is how come its value decreases after it has reached the highest in the last quarter of 2017. Was it being more accepted affected its value? What are your thoughts?

The last pump must have been caused by a series of whale activity followed by normal investors additional investment due to their fear of missing out, or those who ride along with the whales. Then came the massive market correction which is normal after a massive pump. Must be whales cashing-out their investment to secure profit.

This means that the "last pump" manipulated by the big whales do good for Bitcoin in the long run?. Because these financial institutions to notice of it (crypto) and adapted it.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could be used to pay for Bills, load and for travel in the Philippines on: April 26, 2019, 08:53:58 PM
Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.

It does cost that much because the system will automatically convert your bitcoin to your php wallet and that will make a transaction fee. The problem with is that the higher money will be transacted the higher also the transaction fee will be deducted to your wallet. So, it is not ideal to use bitcoin in paying bills and other ways that one could pay online. I prefer G cash wallet than coins.ph in paying online like load but G cash wallet has no available crypto in it.

Yes, that is correct. It's not ideal to convert your BTC to PHP using your coinsph wallet because exchange is to low. If need to have your BTC converted to fiat I suggest you trade them using coinsph trading platform Coins Exchange. You can have your BTC traded for PHP in a much higher value than directly converting it using your wallet. Trading fee is very minimal too.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TOP suggestions for someone who's thinking of buying BTC? on: April 23, 2019, 09:33:34 PM
My suggestion is if you're planning to buy Bitcoin is make sure you use it at it should have been. Meaning if you have Bitcoin, use it to buy or acquire services using it.

Bitcoin was created as a currency not just as a mean of investing. We should put it in circulation like buying stuff online, payment for services, use it on online gambling and such. This way more people will use it because they'll know that they can trust Bitcoin as a "currency".
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto film brings Bitcoin to Hollywood on: April 23, 2019, 05:54:20 PM
Here's a review of the new film "Crypto" that stars Kurt Russell and Luke Hemsworth and is about Bitcoin. A big Hollywood film with big-name stars is a pretty big step in getting Bitcoin recognized globally and making it more legitimate in the eyes of the general public:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8w2EXTKQzA&feature=youtu.be

Based on the trailer, I think it will do more harm than good to cryptocurrency. It's more like that crypto is portrayed as a bad thing. Bitcoin is being used here for money laundering and other illegal activities. And we know that everytime "Russia" is mentioned, there's an automatic stigma that comes with it. Smiley
I think crypto is being use here to give "hype" for the movie. I hope they make movies that explained thoroughly how crypto can be helpful to us.

20  Economy / Economics / Re: ECONOMIC ANALYSIS/RESEARCH POLL: Cryptocurrency replacing fiat in the future? on: November 05, 2018, 07:13:25 PM
Governments will not allow something they cannot fully control to run their economy. Even businesses will not submit to something they do not fully understand and manipulate.
