Just a quick update to check out our new demo here. This demo is on the Kovan Test-net and lays the foundation for our sports betting protocol and is a very significant milestone for us. A couple other noteworthy items: - Added two experienced Solidity Devs Manan Mehta and Eric Ren (check our team page for links to github and linkedin) - Added Peter Kroll as an advisor (former Pinnacle Sports), read more here. Hi all, First off just wanted to thank you all for your continued support over these past months. It was never our intention to have the bounty campaign run for this long. Several factors contributed to us delaying our token sale by a significant margin and consequently pushed our bounty promotion end date further and further back. Our team has decided that with our project expanding in scope to encapsulate the creation of a sports betting protocol, rather than just the construction of a lone-standing sportsbook, that it is unfair to extend the bounty campaign yet again - and so our bounty program is being suspended for the time being. Please check out our blog post here for more details on the decision. All actions performed so far in the campaign will receive their proportional share of the 3,500,000 FAN bounty pool, and only actions before Feb 26, 2018 will be counted towards the old bounty pool. Any actions after this date will count towards the new bounty allocation (which is yet to be determined as we revise our token structure for our protocol). Is it legal for US citizens to use this platform?
We are working hard with our counsel to find some way to legally get our tokens into the hands of US citizens. Though at the present time we are unable to say we are accepting US investment or customers. Worst case, we are very optimistic that betting will become legalized on a state by state basis later this year. |

You said that there will be an ICO. But WHEN? I'm following this project since November and the Token Generation Event was estimated on 12 of Dec, then was postponed. Now is Mid-Jan but we still don't have any sure date.
Hi hughjays77, We're just finalizing a date now, our whitelist is getting a big push and we're comfortable with our development progress that we will be able to have a demo up and available to the public by the time we do our token sale. We felt this was important in order to earn the confidence of our prospective backers and future customers, though we understand the delays have been an annoyance to our early supporters. Hi everyone, Our apologies for the long delay in correspondence, but our team has been hard at work on our platform and has some excellent news to share. We are excited to announce that we have secured private funding that will enable us to build the beta for our platform prior to conducting our token sale. Ultimately, we feel that this is a best case scenario for both ourselves and the sports betting public at large, as we will be able to focus on development and provide a working demo of the product that should instill confidence in our ability to deliver an impeccable sports betting product. What does this mean to our community members? Private funding means that we are able to move quickly and deploy funds immediately towards the rapid development of our vision for the FansUnite platform. It also means that we're able to devote our full attention to hitting the milestones that we've set for ourselves in our development roadmap. Will there still be a token sale? So, does it have a defined date for the start of the token-sale? Will the bets be made only with the tokens, or could it be with other altcoins?
Our token sale is tentatively set for December 12th - though this is not fixed in stone as we are assessing recent changes to the altcoin market climate. Nice project but on this period no one would like to invest on a project which will be on air at 2019. Its pretry long time. At least a beta version should be ready on ico period and platform should be ready in 6 months if you guys really want some investment
Hi Buerra, Thanks for the feedback. You'll notice on our timeline ( https://fansunite.io/roadmap) that our Full Beta is actually Q3 2018 and we'll actually be grading bets with FAN at that point for the North American major sports leagues + soccer. Other leagues and native mobile applications for FansUnite won't be until 2019 per this projection but we will do our best to beat the timelines we've set out here. Cheers, Jonny |

Our timeline for the mobile app, which will include the wallet, is conservatively set for 2019 - though we internally hope to best this timeline depending on hiring etc.
The platform wallet will allow bettors to bet without worrying about paying transaction costs associated with placing a bet.
Okay I want to understand this fully. The transaction costs of placing a bet is different than the .5% fee I've heard about? Our fee is actually 2%, this is baked into the odds we offer so you'll be paying $100 to win $98... if there's a matching $100 bet on the other side that loses then they just surrender that $100..... so off of a total of $200 laid down, FansUnite earns $2 which is a 1% margin / vig. The transaction costs we refer to above are actually Ethereum gas costs, which you would be subject to paying if you elected NOT to use our platform wallet and just sent FAN to our bet smart contracts via metamask or myetherwallet. |

Need to wait until 2019 to have a mobile wallet?? That's too long.  That is a super long time. Maybe if this is more successful they'll be able to allocate the resources and get it done sooner? Agreed, whole purpose of having a functional token like this is the ability to use it. With the mobile launch and beta so far away, there is very little incentive to buy this token in an ICO. It will not likely appreciate much in price from ICO date until platform launch as the team is not doing anything particularly innovative in the blockchain space. You are just building a sportsbook with low margins. This ICO would be more successful if you had a current website we could bet on with just bitcoin for instance to get excited about the low margin offerings with high liquidity. And then you could present the ICO and you'd raise a whole lot more. Something like Wagerr may or may not work out, but at least there is a rationale for an ICO for a project like that. I'll wait for this one and look forward to using your platform as a bettor myself when it is ready in fall of next year, but I will be holding other coins/tokens until that time as they offer far more growth from now until that time. This token has no incentive to 'get in early' so to speak. Hold your bitcoin and/or altcoins and buy this one next year guys. You'll have a lot more FAN to bet with that time. If all the tokens in week 1 were sold, it'd raise 117,000 ETH. This project doesn't need 35+ million. It could do fine with 1/10 of that amount. The minimum raise of this project at 5,000,000 should actually be the hard cap if valuations actually mattered in the crypto space. Hey cryptokyle, Thanks for the support (long-term anyway  ). There's definitely a little confusion as to the difference between a mobile wallet and a mobile app, our 2019 projection was a conservative timeline for a fully native mobile app launch...Also, our token is purely an ERC20 token, which will mean it can be stored on any mobile wallet that is set up for Ethereum altcoins. Our platform wallet will be available in conjuncture with our closed Beta launch June 2018. While we do agree with your point that the price of FAN will likely shoot up significantly upon the launching of our actual betting platform, I think your expectation that we just build out a full functioning book already operating with a 1% margin and high liquidity with zero funding is a little unrealistic - the entire point of a token sale is to generate funds to build, market and license this project. As we are taking a fully regulatorily compliant approach, there are significant legal and startup costs associated with securing licenses globally. In addition, in order to meet our aggressive timelines and plans for rapid market acquisition, there are equally significant development and marketing costs that we will be incurring.
