1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: January 22, 2014, 03:03:10 PM
btcw is great

if have a few windows open it sometimes slows the computer down if i'm doing something else, so i usually close those windows or send them to about:blank.  restoring them later in reverse, it's a few clicks

but would be cool if the graphs had a "pause" button on them, and cooler still if there was an option for a timeout, say, if you didn't move the mouse over the page in 5 minutes (or timeout duration is configurable) it would automatically go to pause mode.

probably would save you some bandwidth as well, all those zombies with their operators afk shutting down
2  Economy / Services / Web Developer and Linux Admin for hire on: December 16, 2013, 12:21:36 PM
Experienced web developer (html5/js/css) and linux sysadmin can help you run your server, whatever services you require, including monitoring systems with email or sms alerts to ensure they stay running, and running correctly.

Bot management and monitoring, website and web app development, third party app installation (wordpress, etc), mining support and automation (linux only please) and miner/pool monitoring.  Not sure if I can do it?  PM me.

Will work for BTC or LTC.  0.1btc/hr (or approximate spot price in ltc).  Free consultation, always friendly, here to help.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Businesses and Developers, Let's Get Started! on: June 14, 2013, 11:42:19 AM
I'm a software developer, mostly building web applications with perl, python and js.  I've done quite a bit of linux system administration, and am working on some tools for controlling, monitoring and collecting statistics on miners at the moment.

If you see this and want to chat about feasibility of any project, I'm always open to discussion.  I may be open for hire as well, depending on my interest in the project.

Thanks for helping me get out of the newbie forum.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Minor Question About Difficulty on: June 14, 2013, 11:29:38 AM
bitcoin has a set target of 10minutes per block.  but that's just the average it aims for

http://allchains.info/ shows it well.  every 2016 blocks, the system adjusts the difficulty such that if the average network hash rate for the last 2016 blocks were to remain constant, blocks would be produced every 10 minutes.

since ASICs will increase the hashrate, the difficulty will follow.  the last few retargets were over 20%, those are massive jumps, so the presence of ASICs are really evident now

would be great if we could see some other pairs from btc-e

would be especially nice if we could overlay them on the same chart
