Wow, I just looked at Stocks.Exchange. The entire Buy Ledger has less than $1,500 USD and it is down nearly 17 percent. This coin is dead if this continues. No community outside of the closed loop developer circle, no exchanges and no fork to prevent hoarding from ASICs.
I sent a message to the person who created this entire thread and there has been no reply. This is the opposite of a community driven coin. (Much less one that is suppose to be political)

The link for Next.Exchange on the official website no longer works. Is Next.Exchange still "Coming Soon"? https://croat.cat/en/home/

This coin isn't even a year old yet so I will give them a chance. I was under the impression that there was a fork but it appears they did not. Forking against ASICs is a no brainer and if the devs really want to see this coin go forward it has to be done.

any plan of croat forking into more asic resistant algo? it's pretty obvious no fork no future.
They have already forked.

This is a terrible idea. I can look at the code edits you did to xmrig and then see how they can easily be modified for xmrig amd. So what is going to happen is that those with the technical know how are going to do the modifications, use GPU miners to start mining at a higher hashrate and then those that can't will be left behind.
If this algorithm is not GPU resistant, which it isn't, you need to either make it GPU resistant or release a GPU miner.
what you said is simply not true. https://cryptonote.org/cns/cns008.txtlet me quote CryptoNight is a memory-hard hash function. It is designed to be inefficiently computable on GPU, FPGA and ASIC architectures. The CryptoNight algorithm's first step is initializing large scratchpad with pseudo-random data. The next step is numerous read/write operations at pseudo-random addresses contained in the scratchpad. The final step is hashing the entire scratchpad to produce the resulting value. Also less technical but more practical explanation, with comparing power costs/etc. https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/1386/is-it-better-to-mine-with-a-cpu-or-gpualso since this thread was written on stackexchange, GPU prices went up a lot (especially those graphics cards that are good for mining), so I wouldn't be suprised if CPU mining, at least short term was actually more profitable than GPU if you include costs of acquiring hardware. We never claimed that our coin cannot ever in any way be GPU mined, but 1) It won't give GPU miner big advantage, it will be quite small 2) we will not support such miner if someone creates it, great, but we will keep changing algorithm from time to time and he will have to keep rewriting it. and all this for not so big profit compared to CPU mining? It still might happen, but effects will be quite minimal, thanks to this algorithm. Our goal, after releasing GUI wallet and many other things is actually to rewrite this algorithm to minimize GPU minining advantage to almost zero. At this stage, we will gladly release GPU miner ourselves What I said is true. Cryptonote can and is mined very well by AMD video cards. In a few weeks I'll prove it by releasing a xmrig AMD miner so that anyone that already has an AMD card can mine this coin. As far as rewriting it, that will take all but a days work. So not really that big of a deal for each small change you make.

Can you please reach out to https://globee.com/ to see if they can add Croat? We need to make it easier for this companies to accept Croat (and to also open it up to a global community)

Look at the price in recent days on https://stocks.exchange/trade/CROAT/BTC/1WIt's really so great for all traders. It has reached the highest peak of 850 sats, increased almost 5 times. Congrats all supporters during this past time. Price doesn't mean anything without volume. Good start but we need better exchanges with more eyes on the coin.

Thanks, would be good to get this off my main hard drive if possible. I do try to run the node all the time but space is precious on my SSD. My 5 TB secondary HD is perfectly happy to host it I did it like this for all the coins I'm following. I use separate internal hdd like F:, just for blockchains. 1.) exit from wallet, check task manager - details, that process is no running 2.) Copy all XX gb of files from: - "C:\Users\Donald\AppData\Roaming\croat"
to "F:\croat"
and wait for it to copy everything. * you can copy the complete folder also, or by drag'n'drop or copy/paste folder 3.) Delete - "C:\Users\Donald\AppData\Roaming\croat" (folder)
* basically steps 2 and 3 are moving, but this is safer way - copy/delete - because of many files/big files 4.) Open Administrator command prompt and then: - MKLINK /J "C:\Users\Donald\AppData\Roaming\croat" "F:\croat"
* before this command, folder "C:\Users\Donald\AppData\Roaming\croat" doesn't exist (it's deleted in step 3.) 5.) Nothing to change in CroatCore. On old location (C:\Users\Donald\AppData\Roaming\croat), you will now have symbolic link to the files actually residing on other hdd. Hi again, it works well! I take this opportunity to make a new video and show how to move blockchain folder to different path. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIwFHFslny4Thanks Coulston! cryptocurrencyfreak, with this information you can solve your problem? Yes, thank you. Your video was perfect.

I guess this coin is a joke or a scam or both You are just a god damn intellect now aren't you?

data-dir=D:\Cryptocurrencies\Croat\bcdata\
the above does not work when the individual files are inside that last folder.

How can I move the wallet blockchain data from one hard drive to another hard drive on Windows 10?

Hello, I am making migration of croat.pool.cat to a new server. Migration will be start on 03/28/2018 20:00 UTC. Process will be automatic and you do not have to do any special action. For those who want to manually switch to new server the IP address is http://45.32.185.18/For the moment, one as visible improvements is that we have workers control, you can define the worker name using the password field of configuration. If there are any doubts, please let me know, thank you. Can you please fix the reporting? Right now it shows the entire network hashrate is just over 1 MH/s and yet croat.pool.cat is showing their pool hashrate as 5 MH/s.

Minergate is a scam. STAY AWAY

I think since it is cryptonote coin that they should follow closely with Monero with their forks for ASIC resistance.

As far as I know you can not. What I did was download the Android wallet so I could get an address to start mining. Then once the desktop app was synced I moved the money from mobile wallet to desktop wallet.
