1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Virtex 5 chips able to "save" Bitcoins? on: October 04, 2017, 03:00:32 PM
Hello Sidehack,
Thank you for your response. I was busy, so I was not able to get more into this topic, but for now I got some time again.

As far as I understand I was already thinking the same, that it is very unlikely that there might be some bitcoins stored in a wallet on this chip.
But just in case there is a wallet on the chip, do you know how i can get access to the storage? I tried to search for it on the internet and found some sockets, but unfortunately I might be one of the biggest hardware-noobs around so that the infos that I found left me with even more question marks in my brain  Grin . Do you have a suggestion on which hardware is compatible so that I can buy it?
And another questions, as I was never really into bitcoin before: the wallet is very likely to be password protected, or?

Thank you very much in advance!

Thank you for your fast response. So could there be any bitcoins saved on it?  Huh

Hello,
I am sorry for this super nooby question, but I just found a Virtex 5 Chip. I got it as a gift from a friend a few years ago and all i know is that he was into bitcoin mining. Unfortunately, I didnt learn anything about it on the internet, as i just couldnt understand a word from the description of this chip. And i cannot contact my friend as well, as we didnt see us for years either.

So basically my question right now is:
Is there a chance that there might be any bitcoins saved on this chip? And in case there are some, how could i get access to them? Or are these chips only micro processors that are only doing the mining work like an engine does in a car?

Thank you very much in advance!
