1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ticket Scam on: January 29, 2022, 01:18:42 AM
You should complain to Ticketmaster since their platform was used to scam you. Your chances of tracking someone via blockchain are between slim and non-existent. Use PayPal next time.

Yeah already contacted ticketmaster we will see. And I'm not trying to track someone. I'm trying to track where they went. If those addresses belong to an exchange then you can go to the exchange and see if there is any verifying information the person has linked to their account. If its a bitcoin ATM then there may be security cameras that caught him doing the transaction. There could be cameras that caught him getting into his car after. Exchanges and Bitcoin ATM dont really need to be anonymous especially in the US so thats why I was asking.

Wondering if anyone on here knows any steps I could take after a small scam. I answered a Craigslist ad for some tickets from Ticketmaster. The guy was out of town which I know was a red flag but said he had a friend in my city I could meet with which was cool. Met the friend and transfered the bitcoin and he transferred the tickets. Thought everything was cool. Got home and the tickets were gone. Apparently I never "accepted" them I learned so he was able to take them back. Tried to call him no answer, no responses back. I watched the bitcoin. He moved about $100 to one wallet and $350 to another wallet about 10 min after I transferred to him (assuming these are burner wallets). Then he moved them to 2 other wallets. I believe those wallets might either be exchanges or ATMs just looking at their activity.

The final wallet addresses are

bc1q4fkyxgtffj6r6693af2g59q6t0mnnv9g7fy7fag27k937qxc2fhqv7nzdq

Is there any way of finding out if these are exchanges or ATM for sure. I assume some of the big exchanges would know if this went through them or not. I filed a police report and the detectives are pretty cool in helping to solve the case (hes fascinated with bitcoin he said but hasn't got any) and we realized if we could nail down the exchange they might be able to get the persons info especially if they are in the US and had to verify their account. Anyone know if this is possible or have any suggestions?
