I've had over 14,000 shares accepted, but no award.  The block explorer says "Address not seen on the network."  What am I doing wrong?
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cryonics Frosbit claiming 1000Gh/s - $15K?? on: May 24, 2013, 12:17:03 PM
Looks like Techcrunch had second thoughts about the article.  Gone from where I sit.

Thanks.  Two good references.
6  Bitcoin / Mining support / Appropriate engine and memclock ratio on: May 22, 2013, 08:28:02 PM
I saw somewhere that with LTC gpu-engine should be below 70% of gpu-memclock.  Looking at references for BTC, it seems that most are setting gpu-memdiff to -150 (lower than gpu-engine).  Are these both correct for the different coins?
7  Economy / Service Discussion / BTC-E exchange rate on: May 20, 2013, 08:10:25 PM
Why is it that BTC-E's exchange rate BTC/USD is consistently lower than Mt.Gox and VirCurEx?  As of this posting, BTC-e is 113.71, Mt.Gox is 122.50, VirCurEx is 118.71.
8  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Most trouble free linux distro on: May 17, 2013, 08:24:12 PM
If Debian is problem free for mining I'll use that.  I prefer to anyway.  Just looking for the best chance of a good fit for the GPU.
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Most trouble free linux distro on: May 17, 2013, 06:22:35 PM
Thanks.  I'll try Ubuntu.  That's like Debian, right.  I'm very familiar with Debian.
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Most trouble free linux distro on: May 17, 2013, 10:44:38 AM
What's the most trouble free linux distro for mining?  I'll be using a 7970.
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Good drivers for 6450 on: May 14, 2013, 10:37:38 PM
No luck with 11.11.  I'll try all the others.
12  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Good drivers for 6450 on: May 14, 2013, 08:29:02 PM
I'm using Windows 7/64.  I'm having trouble finding a driver for the 6450 that will work with cgminer.  I've found 13.4 and 12.1 but no others.  cgminer just crashes with these drivers.  Any suggestions on drivers?
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: But can it last? on: May 13, 2013, 02:59:47 PM
1.  Am I wrong that if no one is mining, no transactions get confirmed and nothing moves?

if less people (lower hashrate) mine, the difficulty will go down

OK.  That's an important piece that I missed.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / But can it last? on: May 13, 2013, 02:00:46 PM
Sorry if this is covered elsewhere. But with an allowance of only one search per minute, I gave up trying to find it.

I seek assistance in trying to understand how bitcoin can last.  My main concern is what happens as difficulty increases, transaction load increases, and the computational power needed to confirm transactions increases.  We're beyond the point where CPU based mining is feasible.  GPU mining is only possible in pools.  ASICs are coming online that have more power, but when will that end?

It seems there will come a point in the future when only pools of $25,000 ASICs will be able to get anything done - and at what return? After many hours of reading on the topic, I'm left with the following questions:

1.  Am I wrong that if no one is mining, no transactions get confirmed and nothing moves?
2.  If the computing power is owned by only a few who can afford it, the integrity of the project is lost, isn't it?
3.  Am I completely misunderstanding the way this works?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cgminer a bit erratic on: May 10, 2013, 12:37:44 AM
That didn't last long.  In about 5 minutes, the video card went out again.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cgminer a bit erratic on: May 10, 2013, 12:29:24 AM
I'm at 610Mh/s with:
cgminer -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u user -p x --intensity 13 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 12000 --gpu-engine 1025 --gpu-memclock 1500

and the fan is manually set to 70% and the temp is at 73C.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cgminer a bit erratic on: May 09, 2013, 11:23:54 PM
Just changing to I 13 bumped me up to 485Kh/s.  What is the -w for?  I don't think I see that in the --help.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / cgminer a bit erratic on: May 09, 2013, 09:40:31 PM
Running a 7970 in Windows 7/64.  I'm seeing some erratic behavior in cgminer and I'd appreciate some insight.  Randomly, cgminer appears to just stop doing anything.  No errors or anything, it just stops and the screen doesn't move.  This happens with FTC.  I also notice that while it is mining, video performance is spotty (blocks of blank pixels).  I'm not so worried about it since I don't need to use the box for anything else.

When I tried once to do BTC, it ran for a minute then the video card just went nite-nite knocking out the power supply.  (I have it setup with a Antec 550W Plus psu just powering the video card - the PC is an HP Z400 with its stock psu powering everything else).

I'm using the following for FTC
cgminer -o http://p2pool.org:9377 -u user -p pass --scrypt --intensity 15 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1350

Here is the BTC config I tried:
cgminer -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u user -p pass --intensity 15 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1350
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scantime and threads on: May 09, 2013, 12:52:38 PM
I think I found a suitable answer from the cgminer help.  I assume it has the same meaning in the qt clients.

--scan-time|-s <arg> Upper bound on time spent scanning current work, in seconds (default: 60)
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Not seeing what I'd expect - mining FTC on: May 09, 2013, 09:34:05 AM
After some searches I came up with the following.  Getting about 360Kh/s.  Diff still shows 12.5M.  Is that bad?

cgminer -o http://p2pool.org:9377 -u user -p pass --scrypt --intensity 15 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1350
