2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin-Qt Wallet Corrupted can't sync - Loosing BTC HELP!! on: March 06, 2014, 06:05:18 AM
Have a wallet I installed Bitcoin-QT about year ago dana few updates since that never saw much use on my Mac OSX. Worked fine. Tried to transfer some BTC there recently and it had Lots of catching up to do with the sync...started at 70%

It ran for few hours and would just randomly crash/shut down. Id restart and may work for 5 hours or 5 seconds before crashing again. For over a week over constantly been restarting it and now its like 97% updated, but closer it gets the more frequent the crashes are... Now it will not even open anymore...

Says "System Error: Database corrupted"  and quits now.  Confirmations complete and my BTC is lost until I can sync this wallet address!!

Is there some way to reinstall a new client/wallet and save/transfer  just the wallet address so I don't loose my BTC into the cloud??? Please any help!!  thanks!!
3  Economy / Economics / Why so impossible to Purchase BTC anymore? on: February 22, 2014, 07:59:03 AM
been a little while since Ive actually paid for btc but trying to get back into some trading etc... except I have nothing to start with and been trying to find a safe way for small purchase.. Been through the old dwolla nightmare, and localcoins I don't have time for.. Used to be  a few good services accepted Credit Cards and verified quick but now they have all stopped service to US only ( no idea why no one will respond of course)...

Anyone know where small amounts can be purchased online only, with a typical payment method ie CC, Bank account, PayPal, Dwolla, etc... Everyone is so damn fraud paranoid seems no one is taking advantage of a huge opportunity to just sell some damn coins while taking secure measures in doing so...

7  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Beware of PayPal and other reversible transfer services on: July 10, 2013, 11:32:33 PM
As a "relative" newbie to the forum but as a business entrepreneur of 20 years.  I want to chime in here... Paypal or ANY other payment method is never perfectly safe or guaranteed. A legitimate buyer/seller is better known by their reputation, not on some board forum where they have 1000 posts. That's the LEAST safe people to be dealing with IMO, and for some reason people on these forums think your legit if your account is a year old and has a few posts... Any truly legit buyer/seller can easily prove their reputation or credentials any number of other ways. Ive bee using Paypal safe and sound for 10+ years and never had a bad transaction, because I don't deal with those who cant verify themselves in a professional business manor. period.  Be safe people.

10  Economy / Currency exchange / How to buy BTC wihtout Dwolla?? on: July 08, 2013, 11:52:20 PM
Without doing a bank transfer and now that dwolla is no more what's the easiest way to purchase BTC from the US? I do not want to have my bank account tied directly to any exchange like Mt Gox and I used to purchase with dwolla but now I cannot...
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 9 Hours and BTC Transfer is still 0 Confirmations on: July 02, 2013, 07:03:21 AM
Paid the standard fee...
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 9 Hours and BTC Transfer is still 0 Confirmations on: July 02, 2013, 06:52:53 AM
I made 1 small transfer 9 hours ago and my wallet is still showing 0 confirmations of 6... The funds still didn't transfer... I've NEVER seen a transaction take anywhere near this long, How could there not be a single confirmation in the past 9 hours?
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin price not going up? on: June 29, 2013, 12:54:53 AM
Why is bitcoin price stuck around the same number and not  increasing, how likely  is it for bitcoin to steadily start going up again?

Bitcoin need more user now, and some marketing action like "PayPal is accepting Bitcoins" IMO

Ha, that's like saying Bill Gates is now endorsing apple products  Cheesy

This simply will never happen. Ebay (PayPal) wants nothing more than to nuke bitcoin from existence along with the US government. Both are dependent on the failure of any alternative currency in order to continue their happy little monopoly...

14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: If Bitcoin dies... what could I do with 50 GPUs? on: June 16, 2013, 05:55:57 PM
bitcoin is already in stage critical, honestly Id have started unloading the gpu's while the stragglers are still willing to pay 2x retail for old gpu's on ebay...

btc mining has become an elitist sport...
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining worth it at this point? on: June 16, 2013, 05:52:17 PM
Nope, not worth it at this time.
16  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: June 16, 2013, 05:46:10 PM
This is insane. Even before the rise found blocks have been taking crazy long... 3h, 5h, 4h, 2h, 4h..... such BS lately.... Seriously becoming pointless to mine btc  Undecided

btc was designed to increase in value but its looking like the design is backfiring....
17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GPU mining is Now Pointless! on: June 13, 2013, 06:34:08 AM
Rewards are 1/2 of what they were 2 months ago because difficulty has roughly doubled. It is not likely that difficulty will double every 2 months forever.  Grin

But yeah, alt coins.

This is exactly right. but even since I posted this thread the total G/hash has gone up another 2500!!  Shocked

But Why would you not expect the difficultly to continue to rise as the recent rate? There really is not much explanation except for recent asic chips hitting the streets, which will only grow at a quicker rate from now on... Worst part is that BTC value is dropping as asic is showing up which seems extremely ass-backwards IMO  Tongue
18  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Which Drivers??? on: June 10, 2013, 12:20:00 AM

19  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / GPU mining is Now Pointless! on: June 09, 2013, 10:54:39 PM
SO over the past 4 weeks I've been building my additional GPU mining rigs... Well in that time, virtually overnight it seems its now not even worth mining on GPU's

I've watched 6,000 GHash/S added to Slushes pool in the last couple weeks... Rewards are roughly 1/3 what they were 2 months ago, and isn't worth the profit anymore with electric cost for me. Wow, that all happened awfully fast  Shocked  Guess its that time we can all kiss GPU mining goodbye  Undecided
20  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Which Drivers??? on: June 09, 2013, 09:41:13 PM
Yes it REALLY blows on all counts... Only other one I have use of is an old XP edition  Undecided
