4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 19, 2013, 03:52:48 PM
There has been a buyout from a single entity of 5,000 btc (almost $500,000) - could this be the first batch of buyings from the $11M of the SatoshiDice PayOut?

The payout was in BTC, not USD.

Big jump in the bid sum, but will it be reflected in the price? I'm not confident.

he he  it's  really looks  like  we  can go  into  double  digit  range for a longer time.
It is weird  since  most people  bought their coins within  range  100-120 so why they are  selling  now?Maybe speculators are  quitting the  market  and  going elsewhere

To buy back cheaper?

I think it's important to take steps like this to increase the quality of the posts on this forum, even if they aren't perfect.

https://www.libertybit.com/  is what I've been using.

Their fees are competitive with the other major exchanges (0.5%) and they accept e-INTERAC. For me, accepting e-INTERAC is the biggest attraction to LibertyBit. No authorization required, you can do it from home, only takes 24h for the funds to appear in your account (though I'd love for this to be even shorter) and they only charge $2 on top of the $1ish your bank will charge you for the transfer.

That said, the site doesn't appear overly professional to me and I don't know how I'd feel about leaving my fiat there for very long in case they go under/get shut down.

As far as Canadian exchanges go, I've been using LibertyBit to purchase coins (I've since moved the coins over to Gox and have been trading there). Their trading fees are competitive withe other major exchanges (0.5%) but most importantly imo they accept e-transfers for only $2. Not only is it super convenient not having to go to the bank, but its significantly cheaper than wiring money to Gox or bitstamp.

One of the big downsides at the moment is that their volume is very low. This could pose some issues to people who want to trade large amounts of coins or those who want to catch fast changes in price. Given then fees and convenience factor for Canadians, I'm surprised at the low volume. Imo it might have to do with the site design (in particular the home page) as I feel it looks pretty amateurish compared to the other exchanges. I don't think I'd feel comfortable trusting them to hold a large sum of my fiat.

Hey all, I'm new too.

I've been lurking the forums for the last few months, mostly in the speculation forum. I bought my first coins about a month ago and have been trying my hand at trading. At this point I am trading with very low volumes, not necessarily to make money but mostly to learn and gain experience/confidence.

One of the biggest things I've already learned is the importance of setting rules and creating a defined trading system rather than trying to implicitly follow the trends. It's much less stressful to follow specific guidelines and it prevents emotionally driven decision making.
