Mining ~300 coins and then selling for $10 a pop.
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Windows 8 Mining (guiminer) error on: December 07, 2012, 02:26:42 AM
I have not.  I believe this is an issue dealing with my SDK version?  What version is recommended?  I am using the latest 2.8.  I'm thinking that a roll back or a 32 bit version would make it work again?

no dice?
4  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / ValueError: Too many values to unpack? on: November 21, 2012, 04:07:31 AM
I'm using the latest version of GUIminer.  I just switched over to Windows 8.  This error pops up now when I try to mine:

ValueError: Too many values to unpack.

Also, how do I do a full bug report?  Thanks.
5  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ValueError: Too many values to unpack? on: November 21, 2012, 04:05:54 AM
It is the latest.. how would I go about doing the bug report?  I will post it in the software miners discussion forum.  Thanks for the help.
6  Bitcoin / Mining / ValueError: Too many values to unpack? on: November 20, 2012, 11:19:58 PM
Error through GUI miner saying Value Error: too many values to unpack?

How to correct this so I am able to mine?
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Windows 8 Mining (guiminer) error on: November 20, 2012, 07:30:26 PM
I am trying to mine with guiminer and 5830's and I am getting a gui miner error that I have never seen before:

ValueError: too many values to unpack

What am I doing wrong here?

Thank you for any input.

8  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Open air cases? Which one? on: May 23, 2012, 09:04:20 PM
Build is for a friend so I'll talk with him before pulling the trigger.  It's other a $50 case flipped sideways and resting cards on top of one another - or a proper open air like that one for a little more.
9  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Open air cases? Which one? on: May 23, 2012, 04:20:25 PM
I'm looking for an open air case.  I'm putting together a new rig with 2 5970's and then 2 5830's.  I figure I will sandwich all of the cards together alternating a 5970 with a 5830.

I was looking at this http://www.highspeedpc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=TopTechSTD

But is there a better open air case that you guys would/could recommend?  Would the one that I posted support 4 cards without a problem? Does the one that I posted come with controls such as on/off/reset?  Or do I need to buy a separate adapter for that as well?

Thanks

Okay I'll throw Ubuntu on it and give it a shot.  Wish me luck.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I "own" my wallet on: October 12, 2011, 12:45:09 AM
If I'm on Windows and I boot up with say Ubuntu off of a flash drive and run that will it still work okay?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I "own" my wallet on: October 11, 2011, 10:54:59 PM
Okay, so what should I do to ensure that this does not happen again  Grin
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How do I "own" my wallet on: October 10, 2011, 03:27:28 AM
Okay, so I have miners mining and bitcoins being sent to an address that I had on my computer.  I re-installed Windows and now am trying to figure out how I have 'ownership' of the wallet or how I can access the wallet online now?  I am having trouble figuring out how to open it up within the bitcoin client again.

14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: "connection problems" slowing down mining? on: September 11, 2011, 09:39:54 PM
It repeats this behavior every 10-15 seconds or so.
15  Bitcoin / Mining / "connection problems" slowing down mining? on: September 11, 2011, 09:36:36 PM
I have a bitcoin rig hooked up to a weakly received wireless connection.  The clients will say "connection problem" and it will sit there for a 1-3 seconds before it hooks up again and keeps mining.  Is this a problem?  Is it going to slow down my mining?  If it does or will negatively affect then I will hook it up to a wired line.

Piles of boxes in background =p

Also, is it sitting on top of a fake Christmas tree?

Just set it up on a folding card table with an extension cord, the little fan and a CRT monitor.  Been good so far for about 2 days mining.

Started off with a 100 hash card. now with 4x5830's.  For all of the great designs and setups that I have seen here, I am going to give you something quite opposite. This is in my basement with 2 5830's plugged in traditionally and then ribbon cables with another 2 5830's just laying ontop of the other cards with a small fan overtop.

What do you recommend for going caseless?  And isn't it a bit difficult to not sandwhich them on the mobo?  I was looking at this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514  Is that fine to use or would you recommend something different?  Thank you for your input, I'm def interested in what advice you have.

I want to give you some advice that I learned the hard way if your going to get 4 5830's don't leave them in a case or sandwiched on the mobo if you plan to overclock at all. I have to go to extreme lengths to keep my cards cool and I regret not going caseless.

Got a 5830 in there finally.  300 hash.  Will be setting up a 4x5830 soon.

20  Other / Beginners & Help / Having trouble connecting to Mt.Red on: July 16, 2011, 11:03:40 PM
I'm using Gui miner and I'm having trouble connecting to mt. red pool.  Gui miner says that there is a connection issue and it just sits.  Has Mt. Red updated or changed an address other than what was initially set for gui miner?  I'm doing it wrong?
