Hi everyone! Another scammed user here! Mined a block a few days ago but it went to the pool. Only after that I did investigate whats going on and found this thread. At least I'm not the only one. Lets just hope the Pool manager loshia1974 is still around and will eventually forward our block rewards. I've been mining on tbdice for months and its so far the only block I've found. This M address thing is unfair to say the least. He could have at least warned his users on the front page...

Good luck to all of us  Roll Eyes

Does anybody know how to access statistics in the API? Do I need to run additional commands to get it going? I'm using SimpleMining for my RIGs and Awesome Miner for management.

Guys please. Instead of arguing try to join forces. We've been waiting for Z9 mini FW for way too long. Cracking the voltage control should be the ultimate goal.

Cool the odd thing is the firmware on it is the same as the firmware currently on bitmain. It only has balanced for freq options.  The batch 1 fw runs fine with only 1 board reporting temp. I ran your z9 2.0d and stock z9 firmware on this mini it runs fine but same thing no temps on any board but it clocks up to 737 stable your fw also unlocked the 4th port on the controller so I could run an extra hashboard where the stock mini only allows 3.

Wait...what??! Ur running Z9 FW on your Z9 mini and it works fine? Shocked

Really appreciate your hard work.   I messaged you regarding the unlocked version I received.  As far as batch 1 z9.   I tried a little research of my own by taking the control board from my 750 hashing batch one mini and placing it on the batch 2 mini and the same issue existed where the hashing would go to zero after some time and could only handle 650 at times.  So not sure what they really changed with batch 2 as I assumed all config were stored on the control board.

Thanks

I responded to your PM re: unlock/Z9. My understanding, and note I never had a Z9 batch2+ myself - my 12 were all batch1, is that the Batch2s had a hardware change.  From the pictures I saw, my best guess is 2 VRMs (voltage regulation modules) were removed which limited the power distribution ability to the boards. Again, just a wild guess.

Hey guys. Just for making things clear. Z9 mini Batch 1 and 2 hashing boards look basically the same to me. I can provide photos of both batches boards front and back.

fliperone, that'd be awesome.

Thank you.

It seems that communications on Z9 is done through PIC16F1704, same as for L3+
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4534369.0

Did anyone try to change voltages similar to this ?
Code:
./set_voltage 1 90

all details here

Hey FrozenChip. I tried to use the tool that jstefanop developed for the L3+ but it wont work. It gives the error: "Failed to open the bus"

I guess its not the same chip/FW version? I can try to ask jstefanop in his thread but I cant send him a message since Im a noob Sad

Any help appreciated!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain L3+ Voltage Control Tool...Free :) on: September 25, 2018, 02:14:05 PM
I found a easier way and it makes it perm set.

The blizz firmware worked flawless with voltage settings but the dev fee sucked. I did some testing and digging and found out how he changed the voltage inside his firmware.

He changed the values of the gpio drivers to 1 for lowest setting of voltage. I also found once you set the voltage to 1 inside his firmware it makes it perm set inside the miner reguardless of what firmware you use.

I converted mine over which is working fine. I'm at 700 watts at 384Mhz on all my miners now.

Steps to do this.

1. Installed blizz firmware.
2. Goto global settings and Change the voltage to the value of "1" do not use lowest because then it will reset voltage back to 10 if new firmware is loaded.
3. Flash default antminer firmware back.
4. Check temps you will notice the temps about 10c lower which means its working.

No dev fee, Lower Wattage and lower temps.

Also the settings stay in the miner period forever.

Blizz and I use the same way to change the voltage...it flashes the PIC controller's voltage offset which persists on the actual hash board (its not inside the linux controller). My tool does that exact same thing, without needing to flash his firmware, change the voltage, and flash back...not sure how that is "easier" :p

I guess it makes sense if your that scared to learn 3 command lines and need a GUI to do it.

Great work mate! Please can you take a look into Z9 mini as well? They changed something from Batch 1 to Batch 2 and now we cant OC them any more. They must have lowered the Voltages as the machines become unstable :/
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 04, 2018, 08:41:46 PM
If we crack open the firmware, can we adjust the individual board frequency ??

If you have a Batch one mini that is over clocked, set this to the freq you want the new one set to, save config file, then upload that config file into the batch 2 mini.

tinkering with Firmware is WOW! spookily freakingly scary!
I have a batch 1 Z9 Mini Il give it a wizz
report back
no difference, i uploaded the May 18 firmware onto my batch 2 z9's on arrival.. worth a shot.. but still dropping a chip on board 2

Hey htautosjay. Wanted to ask you if you had a copy of the first batch firmware from bitmain support site? I did not DL it back then and now they replaced it. PM me if you willing to share mate. Lets see if there is some difference in Voltage settings that makes it less stable. Although Im afraid its simply lower quality chips as I measured power draw for 4x Z9mini from 1st batch @700 and now 4x 2nd batch @687. Results are 1493 W vs. 1530 W. There might be a small diff due to different PSU eff but never that big!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: February 06, 2018, 11:28:51 AM
Hi community,
I turn to you as I need some help if possible.
I have an Antimner a3 and one of the boards is not working. Tried changing power, moving back and forth but always the one in the middle (board 2) do not work. Tried booting the Antimner only with it connected also did not work.
Sometimes the board will not show at all, sometimes (when I lower to 550 )will show with few Asics but all XXXX XXXXXXXX.
Tried factory reset few times, tried power off/on, restart .... none of it changed anything.

Any ideas if there is any chance I can fix this other then sending back to Bitmain?

p.s. if anyone manages to help me to solve this will permanently mine for you for a day.
I just kept it at 525 for a while and after 20 or so resets (which it does by itself!) it started hashing again. Then kept changing frequencies until it hashed at 600 again. Good now for a day.

Same middle hash board with the lowest number of HW errors and running coolest of 3.

Tried that but didn't work, tried even lowering down to 400ish but still same situation. Actually for these settings the board is disappearing if I move it back to 550 it shows up again and it shows 47 ASICs existing but is not hashing at all.

Had same issue. Tried everything! Different PSU, swiched cables, I/O board, factory reset, reflash, frequency changes, nothing helps. There is a lot of us that received A3 machines with one or even two dead or semi-dead hash boards. There is nothing you can do. First determine which board exactly is dead, open up the back of the miner and take it out (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycDbpWVHQEs). Then open a support and repair ticket with Bitmain and hope for the best.  Roll Eyes

PM me if you need more help with the hashing boards. I can also send you the original FW for reflashing the miner. There were reports that some guys managed to solve the issues with that. I had no luck...

Anyone has received a new firmware from bitmain?

I have it. PM me if you need it!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 26, 2018, 02:45:53 PM

I think the problem here is the voltage the chips are running at. Even at 525mhz, woke up this morning to find one miner operating at 80C. It doesn't seem to make a difference on heat of what the freq is.

thanks what the best way to wake up those sleeping chips

Tssar mate, Im trying to PM you since 2 days but you are blocking newbies messages and Im listed as one  Grin
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 25, 2018, 10:10:59 PM
Hi,
I connected mine on miningpoolhub and get that :

How come Im only at 123 GH/s?

Go to miner configuration and click on the advance settings tab and then chose default from the drop down menu.

You're frequency is way too high

I noticed the same.

Anybody out there overclocking? wouldnt this be the best time to do it since payout is higher? does it void warrranty?

A friend has it running at 656MHz @ 301GH/S with 0 HW errors. But beware, this thing is heating up like hell. Good thing that its winter here Smiley Also at that speed the 1600W rated APW3+ is at its limits! And yes, you are voiding your warranty so dont do it Wink
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 24, 2018, 10:04:21 PM
Harper86 and Cryptonica helped me out getting a backup of the A3 firmware. thanks for that guys!  Cool As others already found out as well: The A3 and D3 are very similar. I even found out that the software inside the controller chips on the hashing boards is exactly the same.
Out of curiosity I tried to run the A3 firmware on the D3 and the A3 firmware actually detects the ASIC chips and tries to  start mining on the D3 hardware. Looking at the logging it's fine, but it doesn't accept the work as Bitmain did actually changed something on the ASIC chips I guess. I do think they used the D3 as a base and stripped out 10 of x11 algorithms.

For now the conclusion is that you can't convert the D3 to an A3.
It probably does need reprogramming of the ASIC chips on the hashing boards itself.

Blissz please help us out with the A3 FW image you already have. Me and Tssar have the same problem (2 out of 3 hash boards not showing up). I tried everything, PSU, cables, turn on/off boards one by one, Factory reset, nothing helps. Before I open a ticket with Bitmain, Id like to try reflashing the FW as a last resort. That way I succeeded in revitalizing a D3 with similar hash boards issues a few weeks ago! On Bitmains support page there is no trace of A3 reference, manuals or files Sad

Keep up the good work mate!
